Question is. Who would be the third killer? Honestly, I think Deputy Hicks. Cop who is clearly obsessed with Dewey, tries to get Gale out of the picture during the barn attack scene, and goes haywire. Plus, she's a cop, so no one would suspect her.
Absolutely love Scream 1, 2 and 4. Since Scream 4 was marketed as a re-invention of the series where all bets were off, a third killer would have been a nice touch. Your content is top shelf, by the way. There's so much I never knew about the films.
I think Kevin just wanted the audience to see Jill occupied so they wouldn't suspect her. She's missing for a huge chunk of the finished film's finale so it's obvious something suspicious is going on. The argument could have been, when we see Jill, it actually took place long after (or before) the Charlie scene. But it's hard to explain to audiences things weren't happening consecutively so the whole red herring (Judy seems suspicious, caught by Jill) got deleted. Also, I'm a screenwriter in Los Angeles. What also could have happened is Kevin outlined the script and wanted to include where Jill catches Judy with a mask to make us 1) suspect Judy and 2) convince us Jill is the protagonist/innocent. So he plugged it in, in between the longer Kirby/Charlie scene since that scene needed to be broken up anyway. It has a time jump so a Jill scene would provide this. In a redraft (probably done by Kevin, not Ehren) that was replaced by Sidney checking on Jill and not being able to find her. A quick scene but took over the one that was written, because of the flaw you pointed out.
I wonder if they would have made Charlie and Robbie the new Billy and Stu, but then thrown us a curve ball in 5 or 6 with Jill being revealed as a killer all along. There has always been talks about Sidney becoming a ghostface killer. It would pay homage to those rumors/fan theories to make her as likable as Sidney, but then reveal her as a killer in a later film after her character had been fully developed.
Given that Scream 4 was once going to end with Jill being hailed as a hero, before the hospital scene, along with Sydney waking up with amnesia in the next film, it would've been interesting to see a 3rd unmasked killer who knew who Jill really was, and was targeting her.

If Scream 7 is a financial success then Scream 8, 9 & 10 can be more sophisticated because you can create a more in-depth, interwoven storyline. In the past two trilogies, the writers & producers never knew if the second & third movies would be successful, so they couldn’t plan for a horror trilogy.

Tbh scream 4 is my favorite scream. It just felt new, refreshing, was more gorier than all scream maybe scream 6 beats it but scream 4 was the best in my opinion. But the third killer idea did sound good. But Judy being a killer would’ve been the worst idea ever. Why not someone interesting or past scream characters
Jill is the most underrated ghost face. She’s my third favorite behind Stu then Billy then Jill. She had the best motive and was the smartest plan of the execution. She uses Charlie brilliantly and just makes the best execution of her plan and other than her giving herself away in the hospital and if that doesn’t happen she likely kills Sid and gets away with everything
I definitely think there were 3 killers in the movie. How about the scene at the hospital when Rebecca is thrown off the garage. Jill was inside the hospital with Trevor and Charlie was with Robbie I believe.

It sucks that this never made the cut, its pretty much just like the series with a third killer we never got to see, an I loved the series, wish it didn't end with only 3 seasons. There WAS a third killer in the final version of the movie. There HAD to be. I once planned to write a detailed essay on this topic, but I figured that the main piece of evidence would be so obvious to anyone who watched the movie a couple of times that I couldn't possibly be breaking new ground. The fact that it isn't mentioned in this video makes me regret that I didn't put the effort in. I'll have to read the original screenplay in order to see if it supports my theory as to who the third killer was. It's a solid theory based on the movie as it exists, but I won't go into that here. I'll just point to the one question that makes it absolutely necessary that a third person was behind that mask: Who killed Jill's mother? When Kate and Sidney are attacked at home, they were just about to leave to get Jill after Kirby had picked her up. So unless Jill asked Kirby to pull over so she could run back home, put on the Ghostface costume, stab her mom, and then meet back up to go over to Kirby's house, there's no way that she did the killing. So it must have been Charlie, right? But Charlie was ALSO going over to Kirby's house at that time. You might be able to argue that he took a detour along the way, except for the fact that he had been hosting Stab-a-Thon with Robbie, who went with him to Kirby's. So that creates the same problem as with Jill. The only way he killed Kate is if he told his best friend at some point, "Wait for me here; I have to go do something that will leave my whereabouts unknown for a half an hour or so in the middle of a killing spree." There's no way that would have gone unmentioned, so it seems clear that both Jill and Charlie not only were somewhere else at the time of Kate's death, but both had air-tight alibis.
So the third could be Stu, Dewey, or Kirby, that's the only explanation on this. Kevin was always smart and Emma Roberts really works as a scream queen. Emma easily could play Buffy the vampire slayer in a movie as well at that time, that will be a great link, because SMG was on Scream 2.

Seriously I feel we were seriously deprived by not having Kirby be one of the killers. Her and Jill would have been WAY better. Plus her manipulating Charlie would be more fitting and not so out of the blue.
I noticed some things recently that i hadnt before. It might just be conveniences, but it made me question if there was a third killer. Like both Jill and Charlie being at school the the stuff is found in Sidneys trunk. The blood is still wet so would have had to been transfered from a bag or something recently. Then when Gale is attacked at stabathon the ghostface camera is being operated by someone. Charlie is attacking Gale, and Jill is still home, because she attacks and kills the deputys outside. Its possible that Jill is operating the camera with her phone i guess, it just seems a bit early for that, though im sure it is just convenient for the plot that the technology exists already. Just thought it was funny that i see this video just days after i start questioning it.
Totally like the original idea and think that 3 killers would have been cool in scream 4 and building off that but to be honest, I like 5 and 6 the way it is because we learn more about Billy and brought in new cast while staying connected to the past four movies. And seeing how it all really ties together as one whole story was really a good watch for me personally. Had they gone this way, we would be rooting for ghostface which would change (them/the killer) from being the villain to them anti hero which is a big NO GO since whoever the killers are suppose to be are suppose to be bad. Jill got her ending so that’s enough for me but had she stayed around a bit longer, or been the first person to die in the next movie, then I think that would have been really cool too

Aside the bad filter effect, SCREAM 4 is so underrated... So much better than even Scream (2022). Jill is such the most perfect Ghostface and that reveal is the best!
I’m going out on a limb and that third killer was Dewey Riley. He was so underused character and he has so many suspicious things all through scream through scream 3 and in scream 4 nobody talks about this but how was Dewey’s permanent nerve damage that caused a obvious limp in S2 S3 but in scream 4 it’s never mentioned that he had surgery to repair the damage or anything like that so why was he not limping in scream 4. My theory is he was the long theorized 3rd killer in the original. No Roman doesn’t count because he was just enticing billy through manipulation. But Dewey has always been suspicious in every movie he found Sid’s dads car in the woods with gale though and wasn’t in the house during the reveal so I think he was always planning to have Stu and billy take the fall he was obsessed with Sid being Tatums friend so he was around her a lot and he was a cop so him being the third person involved would’ve made sense for billy and Stu because he had access to evidence and what the police knew about them. Jump to scream 2 and he just shows up at Sid’s college after the murders to protect her. That’s the first sign of infatuation with Sid and he has that unmistakable limp from permanent nerve damage that is the perfect way to deflect suspicion away from him because the killer would have been limping. Now let’s look at that brutal attack on him in the schools music booth and he is stabbed repeatedly in the back and blood oozing from his mouth. Let’s assume the stabs didn’t kill him but he was left there for at least 30min and almost definitely would’ve bled out in that time but again he was nowhere near the reveal and I think it was a good fake killing they were at a movie school and Mickey would’ve had the knowledge and access to props to execute that horrifically brutal killing? He survived again. Scream 3 he just happens to be a security guard for the stab 3 movie protecting the actor playing the woman who broke his heart. Now he still has that bad limping and again it’s perfect deflection from suspicion and let’s not forget that Roman although impossible was the only one person killer reveal and that was probably because Dewey and gale couldn’t get in the room until after the reveal and the fight so I think that he was planning on revealing his involvement when he got in and exacting his revenge on gale breaking his heart and telling Sid his secret love and telling her but if Sid already killed Roman before Dewey gets in then he decides to not say anything because he’s outnumbered and Sid has a Kevlar vest and a gun so he doesn’t tell anything. Fast forward to scream 4 and along with the fact he’s miraculously gotten rid of that permanent damage and he is the sheriff in control of the investigation. He plants the evidence in Sid’s car to keep her in woodsboro and judging from the video that there has to logically be a third person involved and he is one of only a couple people that could be on that phone call so I think Wes and Kevin always had a possibility of making Dewey that theoretical third killer because they clearly had a plan for the second trilogy and the only way to make it surpass the first one and if they had Jill survive and be stalked in 5 Dewey would be a logical possibility for a huge arc twist for him. He was always underutilized in the movies and he was one main character that rewatching the 4 movies was always in a position to be a secret killer who could control and manipulate people through being a cop and also providing them with crucial information about the direction of their investigations. Radio silence did give him a noble ending and I appreciated that but Dewey was a character that was a great depth character that was a very good person always protecting Sid but what if Wes and Kevin were always leaving these absences in reveals and suspicious survival of brutality as they were building up this hero to end up being the most interesting and important killer in the franchise. Unpopular theory as it may be I grew up with these movies and I don’t think there was a more interesting and surprising twist than Dewey he could’ve even setup Stu’s return by divulging that Stu’s parents paid off the police and coroner to protect the survival of Stu from being publicly known to avoid prison because that was absolutely possible in 1997 when records were primarily paperwork especially in a small town records weren’t being kept digitally like today when that scenario is next to impossible. I have always wanted to be able to see the Boy Scout who was always there to protect Sid be realized as someone infatuated with her and finding out his secret in scream 5 or 6 but there’s evidence in 1-4 that Dewey was a character always around and helpful until the 3rd act he’s always been injured or one step away from being in the vicinity of the killers revealing
Cheers to Culkin for saving the entire movie as far as I’m concerned just because his GF was probably the meanest out of the series and yet once he’s revealed he’s by farrrrr the least intimidating yet he downplayed the crazy so well it worked perfectly for me. I can’t help but wonder what would’ve happened if Adam Brody had been the other killer and completely subverted the Dewey character (which was my guess the first time I saw it because let’s be honest, what we saw wouldn’t have killed anyone) just a thought
Something has always bugged me about Scream 4, and Scream 5 for that matter. I think both Emma Roberts and Mikey Madison both done a phenomenal job with their performance, especially Emma Roberts. With that said, those two girls are really really tiny. Emma Roberts is only 5'1" and Mickey Madison is only 5'2". I think it would more than obvious to anyone who knew them that it was them in the Ghostface costume. If I saw Ghostface looking like a borderline dwarf, I would instantly be suspicious of the short person in the friend group.

One of the killers is barely 5'0" tall, the only one is lucky to be 5'8" at best and Ghostface has been running around standing at about 6'0". It's fucking stupid... In Scream 5 after Dewey is killed and Ghostface is standing over his body, that's either Mikey Madison in the Ghostface outfit or it's a stuntwoman. You can tell it's a female by their body frame and way they're standing.

I want to write that my name is Josh Tate and i'm writing that they've confirmed that Scream 7 will be the 7th and final film in the Scream franchise and that they;'re still planning to release it in theatres in 2024 or 2025. i believe that it would be a great twist to bring back Matthew Lillard as Stu Macher for the seventh and final film in the Scream franchise. what a great twist it would be if it was revealed that it was Stu Macher who was the second Ghostface who attacked Sidney in the Sunrise Studios set when she was touring the duplicate version of her house. in Scream 3 Sidney was standing in the duplicate version of her bedroom of the set and then Roman Bridger as Ghostface smashed through the window and pulled her out the window and attacked her and she fought back. when she ran into the house and quickly slammed the front door it was Stu Macher as the second Ghostface who came charging out of the closet with a knife and then he chased her up the stairs. after Sidney threw Stu Macher as Ghostface down on the bed on the bedroom set below he ran away. after that Sidney was almost attacked by Roman Bridger as Ghostface in the second floor bedroom while he was wearing the bloodied bodybag over his Ghostface costume and Sidney screamed out of fear and then she fell out the bedroom window to the ground below. the two Ghostface killlers both disappeared when all the studio lights came on and Dewey and everybody else came running into the studio. I just believe it would be a great twist if in the seventh and last Scream film if it was revealed that Stu Macher was the second Ghostface killer who attacked Sidney in the Sunrise Studios set in Scream 3.because that would be a great twist if Stu Macher would confess to Sidney that both he and her brother Roman Bridger both attacked her at the Sunrise Studio set in the seventh and final Scream film.
I think the idea of a third killer in Scream 4 could work but I think if the original Scream 5&6 went ahead I think the Ghostface targeting Jill would've been Kirby as she would be the only character to know her secret.
Not Really. It could has two teams: Jill and the other unknow Ghostface VS a new group/couple Of Ghostfaces who try to kill them only because Of what happen on 2011. Maybe the family of one Of their victims (I guess Trevor’s dad or brothers).

I don't think they were intending to add a third killer, I think it was just a rushed and messy early draft of the script that needed some tweaking.

Jill is the most underrated ghost face. She’s my third favorite behind Stu then Billy then Jill. She had the best motive and was the smartest plan of the execution. She uses Charlie brilliantly and just makes the best execution of her plan and other than her giving herself away in the hospital and if that doesn’t happen she likely kills Sid and gets away with everything
this idea of a trilogy would have been miles better than 5 and 6
I definitely think there were 3 killers in the movie. How about the scene at the hospital when Rebecca is thrown off the garage. Jill was inside the hospital with Trevor and Charlie was with Robbie I believe.
I ALWAYS dreamed horrkr movies being in them as a bystander powerless. Different outcomes. Different endings. I write it down. Its so cool you reveal this awesome alternate universe.

There WAS a third killer in the final version of the movie. There HAD to be. I once planned to write a detailed essay on this topic, but I figured that the main piece of evidence would be so obvious to anyone who watched the movie a couple of times that I couldn't possibly be breaking new ground. The fact that it isn't mentioned in this video makes me regret that I didn't put the effort in. I'll have to read the original screenplay in order to see if it supports my theory as to who the third killer was. It's a solid theory based on the movie as it exists, but I won't go into that here. I'll just point to the one question that makes it absolutely necessary that a third person was behind that mask:
Who killed Jill's mother?
When Kate and Sidney are attacked at home, they were just about to leave to get Jill after Kirby had picked her up. So unless Jill asked Kirby to pull over so she could run back home, put on the Ghostface costume, stab her mom, and then meet back up to go over to Kirby's house, there's no way that she did the killing. So it must have been Charlie, right? But Charlie was ALSO going over to Kirby's house at that time. You might be able to argue that he took a detour along the way, except for the fact that he had been hosting Stab-a-Thon with Robbie, who went with him to Kirby's. So that creates the same problem as with Jill. The only way he killed Kate is if he told his best friend at some point, "Wait for me here; I have to go do something that will leave my whereabouts unknown for a half an hour or so in the middle of a killing spree." There's no way that would have gone unmentioned, so it seems clear that both Jill and Charlie not only were somewhere else at the time of Kate's death, but both had air-tight alibis.

So the third could be Stu, Dewey, or Kirby, that's the only explanation on this. Kevin was always smart and Emma Roberts really works as a scream queen. Emma easily could play Buffy the vampire slayer in a movie as well at that time, that will be a great link, because SMG was on Scream 2.

I noticed some things recently that i hadnt before. It might just be conveniences, but it made me question if there was a third killer. Like both Jill and Charlie being at school the the stuff is found in Sidneys trunk. The blood is still wet so would have had to been transfered from a bag or something recently.
Then when Gale is attacked at stabathon the ghostface camera is being operated by someone. Charlie is attacking Gale, and Jill is still home, because she attacks and kills the deputys outside.
Its possible that Jill is operating the camera with her phone i guess, it just seems a bit early for that, though im sure it is just convenient for the plot that the technology exists already.

Totally like the original idea and think that 3 killers would have been cool in scream 4 and building off that but to be honest, I like 5 and 6 the way it is because we learn more about Billy and brought in new cast while staying connected to the past four movies. And seeing how it all really ties together as one whole story was really a good watch for me personally. Had they gone this way, we would be rooting for ghostface which would change (them/the killer) from being the villain to them anti hero which is a big NO GO since whoever the killers are suppose to be are suppose to be bad. Jill got her ending so that’s enough for me but had she stayed around a bit longer, or been the first person to die in the next movie, then I think that would have been really cool too

Aside the bad filter effect, SCREAM 4 is so underrated... So much better than even Scream (2022). Jill is such the most perfect Ghostface and that reveal is the best!

I’m going out on a limb and that third killer was Dewey Riley. He was so underused character and he has so many suspicious things all through scream through scream 3 and in scream 4 nobody talks about this but how was Dewey’s permanent nerve damage that caused a obvious limp in S2 S3 but in scream 4 it’s never mentioned that he had surgery to repair the damage or anything like that so why was he not limping in scream 4. My theory is he was the long theorized 3rd killer in the original. No Roman doesn’t count because he was just enticing billy through manipulation. But Dewey has always been suspicious in every movie he found Sid’s dads car in the woods with gale though and wasn’t in the house during the reveal so I think he was always planning to have Stu and billy take the fall he was obsessed with Sid being Tatums friend so he was around her a lot and he was a cop so him being the third person involved would’ve made sense for billy and Stu because he had access to evidence and what the police knew about them. Jump to scream 2 and he just shows up at Sid’s college after the murders to protect her. That’s the first sign of infatuation with Sid and he has that unmistakable limp from permanent nerve damage that is the perfect way to deflect suspicion away from him because the killer would have been limping. Now let’s look at that brutal attack on him in the schools music booth and he is stabbed repeatedly in the back and blood oozing from his mouth. Let’s assume the stabs didn’t kill him but he was left there for at least 30min and almost definitely would’ve bled out in that time but again he was nowhere near the reveal and I think it was a good fake killing they were at a movie school and Mickey would’ve had the knowledge and access to props to execute that horrifically brutal killing? He survived again. Scream 3 he just happens to be a security guard for the stab 3 movie protecting the actor playing the woman who broke his heart. Now he still has that bad limping and again it’s perfect deflection from suspicion and let’s not forget that Roman although impossible was the only one person killer reveal and that was probably because Dewey and gale couldn’t get in the room until after the reveal and the fight so I think that he was planning on revealing his involvement when he got in and exacting his revenge on gale breaking his heart and telling Sid his secret love and telling her but if Sid already killed Roman before Dewey gets in then he decides to not say anything because he’s outnumbered and Sid has a Kevlar vest and a gun so he doesn’t tell anything. Fast forward to scream 4 and along with the fact he’s miraculously gotten rid of that permanent damage and he is the sheriff in control of the investigation. He plants the evidence in Sid’s car to keep her in woodsboro and judging from the video that there has to logically be a third person involved and he is one of only a couple people that could be on that phone call so I think Wes and Kevin always had a possibility of making Dewey that theoretical third killer because they clearly had a plan for the second trilogy and the only way to make it surpass the first one and if they had Jill survive and be stalked in 5 Dewey would be a logical possibility for a huge arc twist for him. He was always underutilized in the movies and he was one main character that rewatching the 4 movies was always in a position to be a secret killer who could control and manipulate people through being a cop and also providing them with crucial information about the direction of their investigations. Radio silence did give him a noble ending and I appreciated that but Dewey was a character that was a great depth character that was a very good person always protecting Sid but what if Wes and Kevin were always leaving these absences in reveals and suspicious survival of brutality as they were building up this hero to end up being the most interesting and important killer in the franchise. Unpopular theory as it may be I grew up with these movies and I don’t think there was a more interesting and surprising twist than Dewey he could’ve even setup Stu’s return by divulging that Stu’s parents paid off the police and coroner to protect the survival of Stu from being publicly known to avoid prison because that was absolutely possible in 1997 when records were primarily paperwork especially in a small town records weren’t being kept digitally like today when that scenario is next to impossible. I have always wanted to be able to see the Boy Scout who was always there to protect Sid be realized as someone infatuated with her and finding out his secret in scream 5 or 6 but there’s evidence in 1-4 that Dewey was a character always around and helpful until the 3rd act he’s always been injured or one step away from being in the vicinity of the killers revealing
Cheers to Culkin for saving the entire movie as far as I’m concerned just because his GF was probably the meanest out of the series and yet once he’s revealed he’s by farrrrr the least intimidating yet he downplayed the crazy so well it worked perfectly for me. I can’t help but wonder what would’ve happened if Adam Brody had been the other killer and completely subverted the Dewey character (which was my guess the first time I saw it because let’s be honest, what we saw wouldn’t have killed anyone) just a thought

Something has always bugged me about Scream 4, and Scream 5 for that matter. I think both Emma Roberts and Mikey Madison both done a phenomenal job with their performance, especially Emma Roberts. With that said, those two girls are really really tiny. Emma Roberts is only 5'1" and Mickey Madison is only 5'2". I think it would more than obvious to anyone who knew them that it was them in the Ghostface costume. If I saw Ghostface looking like a borderline dwarf, I would instantly be suspicious of the short person in the friend group.

One of the killers is barely 5'0" tall, the only one is lucky to be 5'8" at best and Ghostface has been running around standing at about 6'0". It's fucking stupid... In Scream 5 after Dewey is killed and Ghostface is standing over his body, that's either Mikey Madison in the Ghostface outfit or it's a stuntwoman. You can tell it's a female by their body frame and way they're standing.

i wish they could do an alternate timeline where jill survived and kirby too. the cast from scream 4 emma,hayden,culkin, erik and the girl playing olivia are cool. and would have been cool if scream 5 and 6 were released between 2014 and 2016. honestly i dont like scream 5 and 6. i dont like the cast especially brown,mason,jenna and melissa.

I think Scream 4 was the weakest of the Wes Craven Scream movies, mainly because of the Killers, I didn’t buy Emma Roberts/Jill or Rory Culkin/Charlie as the the killers.

I want to write that my name is Josh Tate and i'm writing that they've confirmed that Scream 7 will be the 7th and final film in the Scream franchise and that they;'re still planning to release it in theatres in 2024 or 2025. i believe that it would be a great twist to bring back Matthew Lillard as Stu Macher for the seventh and final film in the Scream franchise. what a great twist it would be if it was revealed that it was Stu Macher who was the second Ghostface who attacked Sidney in the Sunrise Studios set when she was touring the duplicate version of her house. in Scream 3 Sidney was standing in the duplicate version of her bedroom of the set and then Roman Bridger as Ghostface smashed through the window and pulled her out the window and attacked her and she fought back. when she ran into the house and quickly slammed the front door it was Stu Macher as the second Ghostface who came charging out of the closet with a knife and then he chased her up the stairs. after Sidney threw Stu Macher as Ghostface down on the bed on the bedroom set below he ran away. after that Sidney was almost attacked by Roman Bridger as Ghostface in the second floor bedroom while he was wearing the bloodied bodybag over his Ghostface costume and Sidney screamed out of fear and then she fell out the bedroom window to the ground below. the two Ghostface killlers both disappeared when all the studio lights came on and Dewey and everybody else came running into the studio. I just believe it would be a great twist if in the seventh and last Scream film if it was revealed that Stu Macher was the second Ghostface killer who attacked Sidney in the Sunrise Studios set in Scream 3.because that would be a great twist if Stu Macher would confess to Sidney that both he and her brother Roman Bridger both attacked her at the Sunrise Studio set in the seventh and final Scream film.
