Mainly commenting for the algorithm and to support the longer "raw" footage. My personal opinion, I'd like you to also be mic'd up on the lane Luke, and for you and the testers to just have a natural, genuine conversation about what you see/think/feel. Nothing forced or written, no prompts or awkwardness, just have a real discussion about what you're seeing during the testing process, and let us hear it.
I have thought about that several times, because if somebody gets a little stuck in just throwing shots, I'll ask them questions to get their thoughts out there, but sometimes I'm having a conversation with someone in the background too, so it's been a little dodgy sometimes. Often times there are other people there practicing, James is there quite a bit when we're filming so sometimes I'll be talking to him about something completely different and it causes problems. However, I don't necessarily have to have the mic on the whole time, I can be more intentional about putting it on and saying ok let's have a little conversation, which is what I think you're talking about . . I just never know how stuff is going to be received. I've tried out all the requests I've been getting this year and all it's really done is tank the channel, even when I've followed what I thought were good suggestions like this one, so I'm not entirely sure what I even want to try at this point.
This one looks pretty sick. You can see it shifting gears trying to pick up and just keeps going. Really helps hearing the Zac-bot 3000 go through his thought process.
Great video alot of useful perspective, thanks for the great content as always! I'm highly considering this one so I'm glad we got the multiple looks at this one with the different drillings
The Road Warrior is the state side release of the Hy Road Punch (+/- some very minor changes like fragrance). My experience with that matches what Luke's got here. Was able to ring up a handful of big games on low volume sport shots with it where everything else puked. It was also good-not-great on one of the local house shots where it was able to get the most consistent reactions out of anything in the arsenal.
Hi Luke nice video , i have both og and pearl hy roads love them like everyone else 😂. Really like The Road, just drilled the Road Warrior pin in the ring finger SWEET. Game 3 257 SPL 2 NEW LANES . If you have high friction these are excellent. 👍
Probably, this does actually look a lot like the Revenant. Numbers are very close, and since they buffed all the covers, I think new R2S is just R3S in disguise.
Not necessarily, remember this is a fresh challenge pattern and he wouldn't be using either of these balls on the fresh. When more friction shows up, the pin up will be more dynamic and the pin down will be more controllable.
Not sure who did that Storm cover strength chart; I have not experienced the REX to be that strong. The Dark Code at 3000 was almost identical in performance to the Nova & its R2X cover; maybe just a bit more midlane for the Nova & more backend for the Dark Code. The Absolute with R2S DEEP is long & strong. 14 lbs for all balls. REX cover would be like a R2X DEEP in my personal chart. On a 42' 8:1 ratio -- in between a Chromium & Route 66 V2 type of pattern. thank you for the comparison!
Hi Luke would it be fair to say that the warrior rolls earlier and is less off the spot than the LBO? Other than that I can’t seem to see much of a difference between the two besides on paper, perhaps only that the warrior is better from deep when shiny.
I don't think it rolls earlier, but I think it is a little slower down lane. The big difference is the cover, ReX on the LBO is much stronger than R2S Deep on the Road Warrior, that's why I showed the chart with the difference between The Road cover and the Road Warrior cover, the LBO has the same cover formula that The Road does.
@ I see, appreciate the response Luke! Am used to the weaker R2S covers being faster and more off the spot than a stronger cover like REX. Would you say that the Warrior is close to the Ascent maybe slightly faster and less chuggy?
Yes, the weaker covers are usually faster off the spot, but when you actually get onto any kind of oil, the ReX balls will keep hooking. Yeah I'd agree with that comparison.
Either one really, I think the Anger will be a little stronger, this one will be a little cleaner and a couple boards weaker, but you wouldn't be disappointed with either one I don't think.
Not that close, the P3 had a significantly stronger core and somewhat stronger cover. The on lane shapes look similar, I'll give you that, but the P3 was probably an easy arrow stronger.
@@LukeRosdahl good to know. Yeah on paper I know R3S Hybrid is stronger than R2S Deep Pearl, and the core numbers are different. Since I got my P3 a few years ago, my rev rate has gone up and I don't consistently bowl on enough oil to use the P3 anymore. So the Warrior looks more usable. Thanks.
Then it sounds really quiet and dead. i used to have no music in the background and people said I was bowling ASMR and that I needed some backing music lol . .
Ok…I have The Road… I like it a lot more than most people seem to (yes..i knocked the reacts-gloss shine off with a used 3000)… so the question is, should i look at having both, or is there too much overlap?
On paper this one should be cleaner, weaker and sharper, but on the lane, this one seems a touch cleaner, definitely sharper, but about the same strength . . so I'm not really sure what to tell you to be honest. I know that doesn't help, but for some people I think this ball is going to feel stronger than the Road.

Wow... color me seriously impressed with this one. First SPI release that I've said that about in a very long time.

This monologue kinda sounded like that, “So I can CLEARLY not choose the glass in front of you/me!” from The Princess Bride.
The Road is better from straighter for me. Once I start moving left with it I have to do what seems like alot to make it go thru the pins.
This dude said the math ain’t mathing… I love you buddy 😂

“Pin down rolls earlier”-pro shop operator from 2002
Finally decades later people are starting to understand . .
@@LukeRosdahlstill being constantly repeated on UA-cam “ball” reviewers. It’s an uphill battle.
Lol you mean Randy Pedersen on pba shows from a decade ago
Pin down less flare =clean smooth
No hook phase is longer raises the rg
How does it do on burnt up lanes, as in everyday use when the lanes haven't been cleaned recently? My alley only cleans what seems every other day.
That's pretty well what it's made for, drier more transitioned lanes.
Love my revenant, will this be to close??
Probably, this does actually look a lot like the Revenant. Numbers are very close, and since they buffed all the covers, I think new R2S is just R3S in disguise.
That’s what I thought
Thanks for your input
zach seems to have more control with the pin up compared to the pin down which is suprising considering pin down is the control layout haha

one of your best videos yet. do i need this ball? maybe (i had the night road and haaaated it). but do i still want it? yes. xD
This one doesn't have anything in common with the Night Road, especially if you didn't resurface the Night, so I'd say you'll be safe here.

@@LukeRosdahl Got it. Thanks Luke
My coach is saying that my track is very low. She says that will make my reaction inconsistent downlane. I dont quite understand that. Is that valid?
Depends on exactly how low it is, I'd need to see more or have more info, but I'd be inclined to trust her.
Hit the Road with some surface ….. it’s pretty good that way.
Not sure if Luke will see this: rev dom 2H right. This ball or Anger for something longer in lower oil but with good angular motion?
Either one really, I think the Anger will be a little stronger, this one will be a little cleaner and a couple boards weaker, but you wouldn't be disappointed with either one I don't think.
The road warrior looks like it rolls similarly to the phaze 3. How would you compare the two balls to each other?

How would the road warrior compare to all-road and ivory rhino pro
Should be cleaner and sharper than both, a little weaker than the All Road and a little stronger than the Ivory
Get rid of the awful music in the background

@LukeRosdahl lol, well I guess you can't make everyone happy. I just felt like I was watching a mission impossible video tbh 😭
Yeah . . I didn't add any music to the video I just put up so we'll see if it's better or worse.
