My grandfather moved from Germany to America after WW2. He had a VW Beetle which my aunt had till my teen years. Dad offered her $1000 for it. At the time was going to waste in her backyard. She turned it down and a month later found out she had it towed off. I was told by my parents it was the first Beetle to be registered in America. Wish I had it.
Wondering if R.K. Smith and Michael Sommers still keep in contact with Hot VWs Magazine. This is Stanley Escolano owner of Badrazz which my Raspberry 1955 oval window bug was published in your magazine Feb. 1990.
@@hotvwsmagazine Let them know it's Stanley Escolano and I will be breaking out Badrazz this year. Hopefully, see them at the shows or get in contact with them.
I didn't want to be one of these people back in 1998 so I sold my last Vw....and the writing was on the wall for these by 2000..the speed limit is not 55mph and there's a billion more people on the road....need I say more?

Nice gathering of VW's. Good to see owners putting the engine cover up so we can see what they are running.

If you would of noticed most of these cars have modified engines that can easily keep up with today’s traffic
