We’re Marianne and Chris, a married couple from the UK. After some life changing events we decided that life was just too short. We sold all our belongings, bought an old Campervan & rented our house to travel full time. The aim is to attempt to visit every country in the world in either our van or with a backpack. We started videoing our travels for our family and then decided it was a wonderful way to document and share our adventures.

You will be hard pressed to find hospitality anywhere else like you have in turkey. I wish I was there eating their fine food and drinking in the amazing scenery. Turkish people are very welcoming. What a place !! Another great video 👍👏🍻

In case anybody wonders Meis island is only 1.9 km away from Turkey while it is 550 km away from Athens so it is pretty heated debate between Turkey and Greece as Greece defends it should get full 200 nmiles EEZ while reducing Turkish EEZ significantly while Turkey defends it should only get 12 nmiles EEZ. Similar islands such as French islands next to Canada have reduced EEZ, Finland's islands next to Sweden both have reduced EEZ and territorial waters, British islands next to France have both reduced EEZ and territorial waters so i will leave it for you to decide who is right...

I wanted to purchase a property on that peninsula where you guys drove around... simply stunning... can’t wait for this Covid to finish.

I have been away for a while, but I am glad I am back to see you that you are staying in a villa. What a wonderful life that must be. You guys deserved a little break. " Don't you worry Trudy, mom and papa are right around the corner"🥰🥰 In the meantime Meryann those rocks are carbonate rocks and dissolved due to the acidity in the environment (acidity due to many reasons : mainly pH 7 and below ).
It seemed like those rocks are full of holes ( because they are dissolved and cavities are created)
If means anything to you these cavities can create topography that is called " Karst Topography".
Possibly hard to walk on those rocks.

Once in a great while maybe every 20 years or more there can be winter storms in the Med that can drop extremely heavy rainfall. The rains can continue almost non stop for multiple days in a row. On top of the mountain behind the town there is a plateau mostly used to graze the goats of the nearby village. When the rains build up on the plateau there is nowhere for the water to drain. When this continues for days the water will eventually push out towards the edge of the mountain. There are small canyons running down the mountain which are normally dry riverbeds. When the water enters the riverbeds and falls off the mountain it creates a spectacular waterfall off of the top of the mountain behind the town. It was an amazing sight to actually see in person. There was so much water it overflowed the highway above the town and flooded through the town itself. As a result a tunnel and drainage system was added under the highway to prevent the waterfall from flooding the town again.
I stayed at the SAME place 2 years ago with my wife. I always remember Kaş as the best place to stay at.

Those rocks are Jurassic - Cretaceous limestones. They are soluble because of their mineral content (calcite). That's why they have that jagged, pitted texture. It is a typical karst landform.

Villa looks amazing- well Jell! Glad Chris’s back is getting better. Love your Thailand tale, about the man on the beach fixing Marianna’s back. Thai massage is quite effective- if not painful at times (Mrs T is Thai and a masseur) so speak from experience!

I have back issues as well. Physical therapy helps a lot! I got myself a tense device.Whenever it gets too bad I use it for like 5-10 days in a row. You also need some exercise for the spine. Be very careful! It messed up my whole life...

I think the appetiser “the meze” that you show was “Acuka” . Red pepper paste, tomato paste, garlic, cumin, salt, black pepper, walnuts, bread crumbs, sometimes cheese in it. My English husband loves it too! 🙏🏻💙 Enjoy 🙏🏻🌺

If i was living in northern Europe etc where it is cold during winters and especially during these quarantine times i would definitely rent such a villa and spent entire winter there. Cold? pff, Covid? pff, Money? pff!! I would ony leave when the Russian army arrives in summer so you are actually quite lucky there aren't many tourists in the region :))

I am very happy for you guys. That's what friends are for. You deserve the best. Why not staying in Turkey permanently? Although Çeşme, Bodrum and Kaş are the most expensive places on the Turquoise coast line, Turkey is still a very cheap country to live. No council tax for real estates and a huge variety of traditional Turkish cusine coming from the Ottoman Palace.
