I love singing and listening to your songs until this day. Don't regret being in movies, because of how Hollywood is not what you think it is. It's actually a blessing you stayed safe from the dark side of Hollywood.
Engelbert, you were blessed with such a beautiful vocal instrument. I am 67 years old now, but listen to your songs: "Winter World of Love" and "The Last Waltz" as often today as I did in the late 70's early 80's. Yes! your talent would have been a natural transition to movies. God Bless you for all the beautiful songs and happiness you brought to millions of fans.

You inspire more fans through your songs and it's more accessible to just listen to you alone than to watch a movie where you are with other actors. Back in the very early '70's, I took my ex-wife to one of Engelbert's concerts for her birthday because she was crazy for him - me not so much ... It was a dinner theater in the round in the Chicago suburbs and right at the beginning of his performance, the sound system went out. He waited for a few moments and continued on with the show just on his own pipes! As a amateur musician myself, I know how hard it is to give a great performance, and he did one of the best shows and without a complaint and got a well deserved standing O - and remember there was no "auto-tune" in those days. He got my respect and listen to his recordings even now. Great talent!
He is an original and he loves what he did , what hes doing right now and what ever he will do in future....people, his fans, WE All knowing this ....we see this...I can read his face...

As a singer/musician I can say with authority, Engelbert was a truly great singer with a fantastic range and distinctive sound. And he put on a very entertaining show. It's a damn shame that radio stations stopped playing his songs post ''This moment in time'' because he continued making great records thru the years. But it's difficult to have a hit record when the records aren't played on the radio. With that said, it was time for him to retire about 10 years ago. His great voice has deteriorated too much to keep going. This happens to the majority of singers as they get into their mid 70's. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Let people remember you at your best.

I HAVE ONE REGRET. THAT I DID NOT SEE UR SHOW IN LAS VEGAS AT THE RIVIERA. I USED TO VISIT MY MOM AND BROTHER WHO OWNED AND OPERATED THE HEALTH CLUB. NOW IM 80 YEARS OLD AND ABLE TO SEE AND HEAR U SPEAK ON MY PHONE. I WATCH MANY OF THE INTERVIEWS OF U ON DIFFERENT TV SHOWS. U ALWAYS WERE GRACIOUS AND EXCITING. LOVE U.

Wrong about one thing. When u did a live performance, u stayed in our minds alot longer than just a few days !! I was 10 and saw you at the Oakdale in CT 1972ish And I couldn't believe that a man could sing so powerfully, with a standing ovation lasting longer than most can hold there breath? There was no forgetting that !! My dad was and musician and played a lot of your top 10s on a gig , so I heard them when he practiced in the house constantly.Your timeless ! And if u want to jump in films now? We'd love to have you, there's so many parts out there for you. Your singing is as good now as it was then. And just like you,,your music never gets old !!.

I saw Engelbert in Lake Tahoe, Nevada in 1979 at Harrah's. He did the funniest imitation of Jerry Lewis I ever saw. As the romantic singer he was..very serious artist..to see him being funny and silly was quite a surprise...and we all loved it. The Jerry imitation was dead on. I'm so happy to see he is doing well...a wonderful voice and talent.
Oh Enge, all of us have regrets in our lives ! You would have been wonderful in the movies, you had the talent, the looks, and the charisma to be in movies just as you have as a singer and performer ! There are many of us who go to your CDs, DVDs, and UA-cam videos all the way back to the 1960's and watch you over and over in your concerts through the years ! So you are never forgotten at all ! Don't you know that you really are a "legend" and a "treasure" to so many, many people ! Enjoy your cigar ! Love to you always !
I will never forget the show you did in 1975 in Niles, Illinois. You called me On stage. I regret that I don’t have a picture of that. No cell phones back then. I was celebrating my 21st birthday.

When you do a live show Enge, its there for posterity too. I still recall your 1977 show at the outdoor venue, the Concord Pavillion in Northern California. It was a warm night, a sell out crowd and your voice and range was at its highest level. I recall almost every song and how well you sang them. You didn't need to make movies. I also recall seeing you in 1971 at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas, great show which you opened with "Around the World" .
Loved this chat. Just mulling thru the “what ifs” is very personal and having an abundance of energy and unusual free moments to give a few moments to other possibilities is a dreamworld that you entered for a while and allowed others to tag along. My pleasure.
Wow, it' good to see him still in good health and still going strong. The Filipino men owe a lot to this man. When people compliment Filipino men for their singing ability and how they have a culture that loves to sing, they have Engelbert Humperdinck to thank for that. His ballads were the standard classics on most Karaoke playlists back when karaoke was just becoming popular in the 80s and most grown Filipino men started getting over their fear of singing and the ridicule that comes from being out of tune by singing to Humperdinck classics like "Release Me", "Quando Quando Quando", "Spanish Eyes", "The Last Waltz", "The Way It Used To Be", "Man Without Love" and many more over bottles of San Miguel beer in Karaoke bars. And that turned into a love for singing that they passed on to their children because they all ended up buying karaoke machines so they can sing at home with family and friends every chance they get. Ask any middle aged Filipino male to sing a Humperdinck song and chances are, 9 out of 10 would know one by heart. And those who don't would be able to pick it up after a few lines of the lyrics, because those were the songs they grew up hearing their father, uncles and grandfather singing to. There is something about the purity of Mr. Humperdinck's way of singing that resonates with Filipinos, the emotions, the lyrics about love and the voice that soars and enchants with it's simplicity. Thank you Mr. Humperdinck for sharing your music to the rest of the world.
I watched a movie you did with Morgan Fairchild. You were excellant!! Of coarse, handsome, classy and charming. You didn't over act, I loved it! Kept wanting the two of you to get together in movie, ya did. She was a beautiful actress and you held your own with her, alot of men couldn't have. Englebert - how in the world do you maintain the high quality of your singing voice at your age? It's really quite remarkable. I'm a classical musician and I hear singers all the time and I hear their voices go down hill after age 60.
It's never too late. Life is life! You can live your dreams. I'm 65, and haven't given up on the dreams I had when I was 18. It's all about timing. I'd love to see you in a movie!!! 🎥🎬🎦🍿⭐
I used to love this man when I was a teenager. He's aged and I guess I just haven't kept up with him and didn't realize that people we admired as teens, are our parents age. I guess I didn't realize how much older he was. I will always enjoy his beautiful voice and try to keep that sweet memory of him while I listen. He's still amazing in my eyes.
Each and everyone of us have regrets, but one thing for sure, I have no regrets seeing you live, In person in concert in the 1980’s at a small venue in Tonawanda NY. I walked away saying, wow, what a amazing performance, it’s a memory that I will always carry with me through out my life. My favorite EBH song with such beautiful words,

I wish i had of followed my passion of singing when i was younger. I try to learn songs now it is my hobby. i am raising my grand and i am teaching her to sing and love music.. maybe she will follow her passion and i can live through her. My dear Engelbert you have touched hearts that you will never know about. A number of years ago you played in Halifax Canada. I was in a position to buy tickets for my parents to see your show. It was one of their fondest memories. Driving the 100 kilometres home following the concert, my parents were crooning to each other and acting like teenagers. A few years later my Mom was in hospital dying from cancer. My son played your music on his phone and her smile was illuminating. Thank you for the memories both sweet and bittersweet.
