Your front body mounts are easiest to just use the old front tube body mount from the 75 chassis. Remove the whole tube with the two mount pillars on it, then just notch your 80 chassis and fit the whole assembly from the 75. Hopefully you still have the frame...

I will take another look at it and see if your suggestion might work. But I think it might be well beyond saving.
