It’s time to uninstall Streamlabs and move to OBS Studio. I can no longer support them (not that I ever did). In the upcoming weeks, I will do a video on all the Streamlabs alternatives for all of the streaming software they provide.
For those of you that use Streamlabs, first of all, wow, someone is actually reading this. Second, I encourage you to stop using it today.

I legit left Streamlabs months ago because of your tutorials. All the conversations where you said "This won't work with SLOBS" or "You could...you know...just not use Streamlabs..." influenced me to switch.

I started with OBS but moved over to Slobs because I thought it was easier and more “user friendly” for noobs. I also assumed it was partnered or at least co-opting OBS.
Then I found Nutty and he got me to switch back to OBS AND get gud.

A former employee of Lightstream said on Twitter that their testimonials are real because he was the one who had to verify them. Some of the people who left the testimonials have also spoken out and verified they are real.

I like it how they are hiding plugins behind a paywall, and they are all plugins from the obs community. Take bongocam for example (idk if its calles like that). They take the ability to use plugins (that is normal in OBS) and hide it behind a paywall.
What on earth is that music in the background? I'm hearing Super Mario World ghost house, mixed with what sounds like my neighbors listening to 9 Inch Nails "Closer" muffled through the wall - I dig it!

I didn't like SLOBS even before I knew SLOBS and OBS Studio were not made by the same team/company, I was so shocked when I heard it in Harris' video, now I can hate them even more 🙃. Great video 💪❤️

I made the change to OBS months ago when I suddenly realized how much CPU SLOBS used. I do use SLOBS’ alert box, though. I like that they have an alert variation for people continuing gifted subs. As far as I can tell, SE only has a variation for when people use tokens to complete a sub. If I’m wrong, please let me know!
I am switching to OBS more and more often. Crazy the amount of resources Streamlabs can use, and let’s not even talk about the obs browsing working at the same time. My computer ‘s CPU can be running at a 100% as opposed to OBS which stays at a 57% more or less. Both with the same layers, frames and stuff running on the stream screen.

This isn't related at all but I have a question about your webcam. How do you get the rounded corners and still have your wide angle not corrupted? Are you using a mask or something? If so, how do you set it up so it doesn't mask the wide angle?
Hey Nutty, do you know of a streamer bot or lioranboard replacement for the Streamlabs spin wheel which I use to choose a random photography topic to talk about in my photography streams? For example, a new editing technique or camera gear discussion (Sony vs Canon, etc). I think the way I use it is similar to a poll where the outcome is what we'll do/talk about.
The Streamlabs implementation requires a button on your Elgato stream deck to spin the wheel, but it'd be great if you could use a command or maybe channel points instead.
PS: To be clear, I don't/won't use the spin wheel to do any form of g*mbling (not what my streams are about) but as a fun way to change discussion topics. And if there's another "game" that does that same thing (random topic from a list) that'd be great too. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks and great vid as always! Also boo Streamlabs boo

I started looking into streaming a while ago and started with SLOBs but my laptop (yeah… laptop) couldn’t handle the load of game plus SLOBS so I migrated stuff to OBS, got it all working, and now I’m about to start streaming for real (not only because of that change but a lot of other changes that offloaded my CPU/CPU have been worked out) and I’m even more happy that I’ll be using just OBS.
I’m a brand new streamer using slobs. I’ve had to drastically cut my in game fps to stop lag. Could this be because of slobs? I have an I5 cpu with Nvidia Geforce RTX 3060. Now playing warzone at 60 fps with still a bit of lag. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
@@whatthefuzz5280 I’d definitely see what the load on your CPU and GPU playing with SLOBS open and with it closed and see what the difference is. I’m by no means a tech expert and I’ve stumbled my way to the point. With SLOBS open, everything felt sluggish and didn’t with OBS. That’s my more technical analysis of it! Best of luck!

Ok so I know this is a bit off topic but I just recently purchased A Yeti X and have A question as a newbie to pc audio... So, let's say I have A wireless headset and I want to have mic monitoring without being plugged into the mic can I just take an aux cable and plug it into the headset out on the mic and plug the other end into the aux input on the pc and use voice meter to route it to my headset like I do with Spotify to where my stream and party chat can't hear it? Also, I'm going to assume ill need to adjust the headset output to where it's just the monitoring and no game audio. Any help from Nutty or the community would be much appreciated... Also, don't see it as jumping in on the hype of drama Nutty this is just calling out SHADY MF business practices. Currently use Twitch studio beta because I'm still a bit overwhelmed on obs and where to get transitions and stuff so just throwing that out there as alternative to slobs for a simple click and go type streaming software

Nutty , the Merch thing is a Plug-in that allows you to do that it’s easier than it seems
i've avoided Streamlabs even back in 2017 because they didn't have tha guts to put De-Interlacing settings to accommodate for other analog signals but ur video here makes me even want to avoid them even more now
heck i even tweeted to Streamlabs if they want me to use their app, get De-Interlacing or no deal.... they didn't comply so i continued to use OBS Studio and now screw Streamlabs altogether
The extra $5.99 a month for adding a gif almost got me, but I saw that final price and was like um no. And then I didn't donate anything because f**k slobs and any streamer who uses it, will not donate through slobs ever.
Please make the video about switching to obs because I'm a new, small streamer that uses streamlabs and I hate it and want to switch but have so much time invested into it that switching to obs seams so daunting. Please help ✌️😂✌️

There are a whole bunch of streamers that have "issues" leaving the streamlabs system and claim that they have problems with SE.. personally I think its user error! so a vid helping thos people would be amazing

Man 2 years ago when i was finding out which i like better, steamlabs or elements and i after careful considerations, even back then 2 years ago, steam elements really stood out for me. Easier functionality, not complex and shady like stream labs. Elements had always free shit whereas labs had like one or two and everything else is pay. Light stream helped me in months before i could upgrade my pc so it was really useful for exactly what it is, a browser source. And to hear streamlabs do this shit, omfg, just made me wanna hate streamlabs even more. gawd

My experience with Streamlabs is that they didn't stop my paying subscription even when I used their website to do so. Only after I contacted their support they terminated my subscription. That's nowhere near a good customer experience & gives off a predatory vibe.
This happened to my partner. Cancel through website next month out comes prime. Do the cycle again until actually talking to support.

To be fair, i'd give them a pass on the merch store drag and drop feature, i'm pretty sure that was a coincidence and the e-commerce software they using being the same software and getting an update to have that style of drag and drop and they both decided to use it, a lot of media upload platforms have that functionality now, and when this happened it was around the time it was new and being introduced.
The ability to create merch via drag and drop is not unique, but from what I've been told by my contacts in the industry, SE specifically designed their landing page so that you can auto generate an entire store with pre-made items. This is what I was referring to in the video. Just telling you what's been said behind closed doors.
What about Multistreaming to different sites? Streamlabs offers this for free. But sadly, OBS does not. It's why I went back to using Streamlabs as I can't afford to buy one of those expensive subscriptions to restream etc nor do I like subscription based software. These companies that practice this, must think we are millionaires and have disposable incomes. If I subscribed to everything that I wanted to use I wouldn't be able to eat.
I understand that some places need to make money to stay afloat. Especially with servers and bandwidth etc. But the pricing is insane especially for the features that you get. I am sure if they dropped the prices, they would get more subscribers who could afford to subscribe.

Out of curiosity, did Streamlabs REALLY think they WEREN'T gonna get CAUGHT EVENTUALLY? How dumb can you actually be to plagiarize other company's work, claim it as yours, and get away with it? OBS lags on me, SLOBS is not lagging . If OBS didn't lag on me I would have used OBS , I'm mussing all the customization OBS can do.

Facebook, UA-cam, Instagram all stole from Snapchat, and everyone still uses them. This is a constant thing in the industry. I honestly can't even be mad, if I stopped using them I'd have to stop using UA-cam altogether in order not to be a hypocrite.
