Fabulous to see a BR Blue era, night time layout. As a former duty manager at Derby it brought back memories of dealing with the overnight NE/SW holiday services. I could never understand why these were ended as they would generally be full to the rafters of people heading towards Paignton or Cornwall.
Thanks for the kind comments. I think holiday trains would be very popular now as people with the cost of living crises are taking more holidays in the UK rather than abroad.
Excellent !! One of the best video's I've seen of a Model Railway. Great atmosphere created around the station at night. Thought the Deltic and it's stock looked brilliant, as it stooped briefly on its way to York !
Thank you. I had to persuade my daughter and wife to do the service announcements. The Deltic hauled train is an East coast mainline diversion. Thanks for watching. More to come. Richard.
Thanks for the kind comments. The Bachmann 03 is a superb little loco. Needs a little repair on one of the air tanks. The piping came off when the sound chip was fitted.
I should point out that Bradford is NOT between Leeds and York - it has two stations - Interchange and Forster Square - which are both terminii. Only Interchange sees through-services, which must reverse on departure - York-Leeds-Halifax-Manchester Victoria/Blackpool North.
you probably dont care at all but does anybody know of a method to log back into an instagram account? I was dumb lost my password. I love any tricks you can give me.
@Maddux Princeton Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im trying it out atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
The detailing is amazing ..... and the weathering superb ..... just one criticism at 7:38 regarding the Charringtons, Shell and Esso tank wagons in the same rake !! ..... This didn't happened, as oil companies would never advertise their competitors products or logos.
:-) yo! Your attention to realism is awesome :-) lovely video - i dread to hink how long this impressive layout and scenery took to build, but many thanks for going to all this trouble:-) the ight shots must hve caused some headaches trying to balance lamps to suit camera sensitivity :-) well done
Thanks for the kind comments Ray. The layout has taken about twelve years so far. Still not finished yet! Yes there was a few re takes filming.Cheers Richard
much of that footage u have would make great photos. if you could just take your shadow out the way - some of your angles are amazing even in motion!!!!
Can remember the 105 craven units, I'm sure they were the last DMUs to carry the all over blue livery. Had a soft spot for the 03s as well, remember seeing them at Newcastle, Birkenhead and East Anglia in the late 80s. Saw the last 2 on the Isle of Wight
I think you are right about the 105’s. I like the 03’s as well. Used to be one stationed at Barrow Hill depot. I believe loco reproduced as the model one I have here is preserved?
Extremely good and “satisfying!” However, when videoing, use a narrower aperture to increase the depth of field. You could also focus on the front of the scene, which is often out of focus.
Thanks. I used two cameras. One is a very small HD dashboard Mobius camera (with the wrong date stamped in small text in the bottom left corner) Which is not as far as I know adjustable with the focus? The other is my wife’s camera. A Panasonic LUMIX for the wider angle shots. Cheers Richard.
hi everyone ,if anyone else needs to find out about how to build a model railroad layout and scenery try Pycanta Model Railroaders Protocol (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my cousin got excellent success with it.
I love this, especially the night-time filming which we don't see very often. Excellent layout with superb modelling and believeable sound; well done!
Thank you for the kind comments and watching. Cheers Richard.

Very enjoyable running session. I like the night scenes and the realistic speeds.
Thankyou.

Great running session, Blue Pullman stole the show. Look forward to next video...Stay safe.
Thankyou. The Pullman set belongs to a friend of mine. It’s a superb model and such a smooth runner.
That Midland Pullman is lovely. Fantastic layout.
Thank you for watching.
just an amazing video, i love your layout and locos etc and that 03 is superb. 11:27 its behind you!
Thanks for the kind comments. The Bachmann 03 is a superb little loco. Needs a little repair on one of the air tanks. The piping came off when the sound chip was fitted.
@@CHESEABUN oh ok, but so realistic, nicely weathered, how much was it
Nice running shops, like the TMD. Blue period is my era!
Thankyou. BR Blue was a great livery.
A great video and what a fantastic model railway you have, some really nice items of rolling stock and locomotives.
Thank you for the kind comments. Richard
Awesome set this Pullman Richard!! Nice running session too. Thanks for sharing this video. Cheers Onno.
Thanks Onno. Yes the Pullman set is awesome. Not mine though. It belongs to a friend of mine. It’s on loan at the moment.
Hi Richard
Just like the old days, smashing running session.
Cheers Paul 👍🖖
Thanks Paul. Much appreciated.
Just subscribed to your channel & watched couple of videos to date and gotta say layout is excellent with great detail 👍
Thank you and thanks for subbing.
Wonderful. At times is is possible to forget it is a model.

I got that completely wrong. There again it’s a fictitious layout.
Great running session Richard, nice to see the Deltic get a run out 😊 nicely put together and thanks for sharing, cheers Darrell
Thanks Darrell. Not given the Deltic a run for a while.
I really enjoyed the show thanks😃
The era of my youth!👍
And mine...
Another excellent video Richard. I really like the night time shots, I almost forgot it was a model railway! Hopefully catch up with you soon.
Thanks Gus. Yes hopefully catch up soon? All depends if they change this tier system.
Nice running session Richard, love that class 24 great sound.👍
Thanks, yes the 24is a superb model. Sutton locomotive works.
A peaceful, entertaining video thanks for uploading.
Still one of the best ever made the Bachman blue Pullman ... great all round session
Thanks Dave. The Pullman set belongs to a friend of mine. Such a brilliant model and such a smooth runner as well.
Brilliant video Richard, that blue Pullman looked fab. The rake of mineral wagons and hoppers looked really good..

Wow! Simply wow!
Excellent! Although what kind of crazy route goes Sheffield-Leeds-Bradford-York? 😂
Much needed engineering works going on the ECML. Hence the diversion. All fictional of course🤔🤫
enjoyed very much so realistic
That’s what I try to aim to do. Thanks
Great stuff, very enjoyable,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
