I was 17 when George died. Tho I wasn't as much into his post Beatles work as I was Paul's, I have come to really appreciate his music. He was an amazing musician and one that has come to inspire me greatly in my own musical journey. Thank You George.

Hi, sounds like you are a musician so you will love this track of George’s. The track was released on his “33 1/3” but the demo is a gem with just his guitar. It is “Woman don’t you cry for me”. I think he uses slide in both versions.
Not sure where to find the demo but a search in a streaming app of the title with demo might work 😢

George was my second favorite Beatle next to John. The hell he went through in
his last years was horrific. Being attacked while having cancer! The best part was
seeing the picture of the attacker after he was beaten by Georges wife! RIP Mr.Harrison

I wished she would have killed that scumbag who broke into their home. George did not have cancer when his attacker stabbed him, in fact he had beaten the cancer in his lungs, the thing is that due to the wound that he received to his lung by that lunatic, the cancer returned and ended his life at only 58 years old.

As a young guitarrist i was taken by the guitar shredders and wanted to be one, although i dont take anything from their talents as i grew as a musician and met other more mature musicans i started to realize just how hard it is to pull of simple, delicate and soulful music, I started to shift into appreciating guitar players that did more than just 3 minute solos and slowly i've come to like George more and more, a lot of people don't get why he is considered a true guitar legend but those who know, know...

Nice corrective to the many George fans who have made him into a transcendent yogi. As Clapton said in his autobio, George was a sinner and a saint. I did not know he had ongoing substance abuse issues, but it makes sense. He also lived in a castle, had multiple expensive cares, yet preached about the spiritual life. George was a contradiction and lived in that manner.

What a beautiful spirit George was,and still is.His music has been healing for me this past year, as uplifting and positive,in the hospital with staph infection, and 2 surgeries to heal my hip and shoulder. All from a careless route canal. Always get an antibiotic before and after any oral treatment. A lesson without. Music, as opposed to George's lessons through music,PEACE PEOPLE !!!

I'm lucky to have met and watched George Harrison play solo guitar. During his involvement with Formula 1 . I met him in Adelaide, Australia, and he borrowed a guitar from a friend's guitar shop. His technique was exceptional and dexterity jaw-dropping. I was in awe. He was tall, friendly, humble, and always smiling. RIP Mr Harrison 🙏 you influenced me to be a better musician and person. Peace, love, and good happiness stuff. ✌️🤘🏴🎸🥁🇦🇺

I was good friends with Lou Harrison, George's sister. One evening after spending some time with her, she walked me outside and asked me to look at something. It was a recent photo of her brother, George, and Lou began to cry. "Does he look sick to you?" she asked me, because she knew that I had helped people with alternative ways to heal from cancer and other illness. He did, but I couldn't say anything to her that evening that would make her cry even harder. I replied, "It might just be a bad picture...." which made her not cry so badly. Too soon, George did die. As smart and clever as George was, perhaps more than any other Beatle, he did, I believe, continue to smoke - which is and remains quite normal in Europe. It would be cancer that would take this Beatle off the face of our planet. I believe because of him smoking cigarettes.

Probably a combination of smoking from such a young age, partaking of certain illicit substances, the never ending stress of having to deal with being one of The Beatles for so many years, and inherited genetic disposition. Many cancers are rarely caused by a single factor.

I was fortunate to meet George towards the end sadly. He had 3 Porsches from us, a 911 Turbo, a 928S & a 944 Carrera GT all in his trademark black, plus a Ferrari Dino 246 Spyder in yellow. The Friar Park mansion where his widow Olivia and son Dhani live in 30 bedrooms no less is amazing with underground lakes to row out onto nearby river Thames...

According to Paul they reconciled - I wasn't there and dont know - However, I do know there seems to be à lot of revisionist history going around with McCartney taking crédit for most of everything the Beatles ever did or recorded and finally with Péter Jackson being called in to do the final turd polishing on Get Back for the now sénile remaining fab duo along with the wives, widows and shareholders of Apple Corp - Sean Lennon, believe it or not, seems to be the more truthful of the lot, with Julian being too bitter and Dhani Harrison being your typical Trump America hating elitist snot.

It’s amazing how often I thought, man the Beatles have got life made in the shade! Just because fame and money come your way doesn’t mean you life is wrapped up with a pretty bow. The rumors, gossips, aggravating situations, all kept potential from full bloom, or perhaps their lives are better this way.
Jesus is my Savior, no one else can make life full and peaceful, it’s a harmony with nature, the Creator and hope for the future! God bless the Beatles

I've been a Beatles fan from day one. Love, love, love their music. And, each of them. They are the best! No one will ever come close to their music. Geniuses, they were. For me, the 1960s, and the emergence of the Beatles to spearhead the culture of the time and ride on that wave was a momentous human event. Their four individual talents and the magnetic chemistry along with Brian Epstein,George, Martin and others was perfect for the age. To ask four lads from Liverpool to wrestle with this immense talent, might well have been a curse as much as an honour. The material and carnal temptations were enormous, and I think George and particular tried very hard to cope, and his turn to Hinduism, in fact, opened a new era, and a new insight to many people. His interest in eastern philosophy really shook the Sunday Christian churchgoing folk to the core and opened the eyes of younger folk, like myself. (I was 16 in 1967). 20 years later, I became a member of the Bahá’í faith, and I personally think these events emerge from a pattern of global spiritual growth that started in 1844. I take note of this resonance, because Bahá’u’lláh, the founder of the Bahá’i Faith openly declared his mission exactly 100 years previously in 1863.

Very good ,documentary ! One thing not mentioned was George's "less than ideal" results of his tour of 1974, which made him want to go back home, and hide. That "episode" might have been critical in how George's live performance history, went, after that 1974 tour.

Nice little documentary! One thing, though: I realise this is nit-picking, but as a guitarist I just can’t let it go. The guitar the hippies in Haight-Ashbury handed to George wasn’t “cheap”, it appears to be a Martin D-18. Quite a serious instrument! Time doesn't fly
Just hangs over like the sky
    It's we who go by
Makes no difference how or why
    Everything you cherish
Throws you over in the end
    Thorns will grab your ankles
From the gardens that you tend
    Damned if you do
Double damned if you don't try
    Caught on the fly
    Hello fades into goodbye
    Aim at the heart💘
Don't ask whose love you're stealing
    Aim at the heart
    Even when it's too revealing
    Aim at the heart
I tell you, aim at the heart
    Aim at the heart
Sitting on a back street many years ago
The tears from your eyes did flow
Feeling out of place inside the time when you were born
    No place else to go
    Suddenly a rainbow rose🌈🏳️‍🌈💧🌹
    And spread across the land🇬🇧🇺🇲
Hung there while the Beatles sang🌈
I want to hold your hand
I want to hold your hand
    What can you say?
    Here tomorrow, gone today
    Faith fades away
For idols with their feet of clay
Keep your head upon your neck
It's not too late for that
Even though the winds of change
    Have blown away your hat🌬️🍃💨🎩
    Aim at the heart
I tell you, aim at the heart
    Aim at the heart
    Kiss💋 it and pass
    Time become a looking glass
    Where love combs her hair
    Look again, she isn't there
    The echo of her laughter
    Fades into the western skies
Where ribbons that you bought her

To the best of my knowledge the spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada was invited to live as Ascot Tittenhurst at John Lennon's home, though several of his discipels were close friends of George's and they would live with him at different times like Mukunda das, Shymasundara das, and Guru Das.

The word that was always hinted about to me from friends I had close to the source was that George and Pattie "swinged" with Éric but George kept control of the situation knowing that Clapton was madly hung up on Pattie since 1966 - Remember that George and Pattie did not divorce until 1978 - Pattie knew which side her bread was buttered on and never considéred leaving George for Eric until George dumped her for Olivia after getting Olivia

He had a good life besides his addictions and egocentrism. As we can hear here. But no can blame him as he grew up as a beatle. Having everyone pleasing him and having all money to spend on what he wanted. In the end his aches were thrown in Ganges rivers, but I don’t think he was ready to go straight to heaven. I believe he will need to come back here to pass through some other experiences…

I don't like Eric Clapton's attitudes, for me, it is a great disloyalty to steal something from a friend, and even more to cheat on him with his wife... how easy it is to say "I fell in love with your wife", when he has already eaten her, I mean, what the hell was that friend... besides, a "great" musician doesn't grow up in the shadow of another... anyway, friends 🙄

As a Christian it disturbs me that he got wrapped up in the hindu religion. There's no way to God and eternal life accept through Jesus. Those are the words of Jesus himself. I saw the Beatles Ed Sullivan appearance and grew up with their music and it really is sad that most of those celebrities that shaped us culturally in the 50's 60's and 70's won't be with us in heaven.

As a Christian then, you must be absolutely devastated when you read the Lord's words 'wide is the way that leads to destruction, and MANY go that way. But narrow is the way to life eternal, and it is very FEW who find it'. He was born in a country that was and had been caught up in the false cultic religion of the centuries, and that itself was disappearing quickly. There was very little of true faith to be found by the wave of the British invasion individuals or those who raised them. They, and most of Europe, were and are very many years ahead of our country in their unbelief of Christianity. Which is evidenced by how the words John spoke about the Beatles being more popular than Jesus hit America so hard, yet wasn't even blinked at in Britain. America's over reaction was quite foolish if you think about it. (And this is coming from a big Beatles fan since 1964 at 10 years old, and now 46 years as a Baptist in the Christian faith). It was foolish in that what he said was true (I have the teen mag Datebook from that year which has a reprint of the English newspaper story). The Beatles WERE more popular than Jesus throughout the world. And John even stated the fact that it was true more for England than over here (America). Because Christianity had all but disappeared over there. Kids weren't being raised in it. Their parents didn't believe so no training in it occurred. Sadly, Americans got so worked up over the statement without realizing its truthfulness even in this country. There were so many kids here who were more taken with the Beatles than Jesus! I knew of no "Jesus" kids in Jr. High or High School. Thanks for the chance to vent.

I hope your faith helps guide you and your surroundings in a positive way. But your religious fanaticism is a danger to current day society. Especially mixed in with the ignorance, fear and hate it spawns. Please take your cult leader and your fellow cult members and enter your kingdom of heaven POST-HASTE. Or, at the very least, move to a desert, where you all can hate on each other. Blessed be.
