This is so in-depth I almost feel like crying at how good the quality of this information is.
I’m from South Sudan, the likes of Duckie Thot, Adut and Nyakim so it’s as dark as you can go, it’s really hard to get any actually helpful information.

tip from a makeup artist you are warm if when you tan your skin is more gold or olive. You are neutral if you pull more of an orange cr red then you are cool to neutral. A neutral tone can fake a slightly more golden skin tone ... COOLs will be washed you out, if you put on golden tone foundations and concealers. I know this sounds complicated but understand the lighter on the spectrum you are the easier it will be to see your undertones and the richer in melanin you have up to 32 different variations of undertones. NO the makeup industry isn't perfect with getting that right for rich complexions but that is because your beauty is multifaceted ... so keep shining gurl and own the skin your in !

That’s why I started this method, all my teachers would say it’s the same when you style darker people but they only had 1-2 examples of each. I’m glad you find my videos useful 😊

Thank you so much for this! I recently got into undertones, season analysis, and makeup. It’s so frustrating to see that the examples of each season are white women. I tried asking some people in a couple of season analysis groups and they all told me different things. From your video and some pictures of myself on my phone, I concluded that I am brown, with a warm yellow undertone, warm black hair, warm dark brown eyes, and low-contrast skin. You make everything so easy to process. I can’t wait to watch the rest of the series!
I feel like the dark brown category was a little bit of a jump from deep dark. I feel like the people shown in the dark brown category should have been in the brown category. Which honestly means the brown category are kind of light. I mean If you look at their skin in a bottle i.e foundation, it doesn't even look brown.
Agreed! There’s a group of people in between deep dark (such as Nyma Tang) and dark brown (such as Jackie Aina). I am one of them! It always bothers me when people say Jackie Aina, for example, is dark. She’s not!
I agree it was a big gap between dark deep brown and dark brown. But what would that be titled cause I’m in that category

Brown just basically means "deep tan."
I agree. To put Beyoncé, Rihanna etc under Brown skin category is laughable. They are all light skin. Describing Jackie Aina, Naomi Campbell etc as “very dark” is a stretch.

omg!!! I totally agree, in my first video (beach grwm) I emphasized how important it is for us to wear sunscreen, I don't know who's idea it was to tell people we don't need to wear sunscreen, but we really do need to protect our melanin. Thank you for this video *new subbie* 💕

Recommend trying all undertone foundations on your skin. My veins are blue but I look best with neutral foundation.

Think my skin is warm neutral. I can definitely pull off gold and silver, but gold makes my skin pop. My tone is between dark brown to deep brown, I believe. This has been very helpful and I'm glad I found your channel ♡

Im a lightskin black man and we black ppl can wear most everything ,but the darker we get the better it looks, We all look good in orange and red but darker shades on another level

I believe when we are born.
We see our undertone complexion. As we get older we "change" colors, becoming darker.
I was a yellow baby & now im Golden Brown
That is very true!
Our coloring changes with time, I also think looking at the parts of your skin that receive less sun can be helpful as well.

Wow! Thank you. It is such a great information! Finally everything makes sense! I always thought I am a dark winter. European classification has never really worked with my coloring. I am an Asian with greenish undertones, red in my brown eyes and hair. Now I understand I am a neutral toward warm color person.

This video is so good! I think I am warm/ warm neutral. I have a lot of yellow undertones. I was very surprised to see that Beyoncé is cool but it actually makes so much sense and I can see it. Her and Rihanna have lightened their skin over time though, otherwise they’d be more warm and tolerant to those bright harsh colours

Always thought beyonce had an orange undertone because I remember a colour diagnosis of her saying she was mute autumn and i agreed. Irregardless, the best way to properly see the undertone is on a bare face without makeup as i was taught
Edit: I remember thinking she lowkey leans towards orange than yellow
I use Estée Lauder 6W1. It looks just like my skin. Online it says I have deep skin with warm yellow undertones. Thanks for the help.
The best way to find your undertone is jewelry. Gold or silver which fits better. I am dark but my undertone is WARM.
I have tan skin with a neutral undertone. I wear a 5 in Estee lauder, and in Laura mercier.
The problem with doing this in a shop is shop strip lights are very unforgiving! I am always matched incorrectly.
N Martin something you could do is try three shades you thing could work and wait for them to oxidize. Or ask the person who is swatching you to do it next to a window instead of LED lights

Dark brown, warm neutral with grey undertones (You have no idea how relieving it is to have this mystery solved. I always wondered why my skin tone always seemed a bit ashy, even in warm light. This makes so much sense. ) Warm "black" hair (It's really just a very dark brown ) and warm brown eyes. Onto the next video then~

I only use a warm foundation bc it's hypoallergenic and they didn't have any other shades 😭 But my veins are mostly blue but I think I've got some faint/cool greens on the less obvious veins.

Lol. No matter how much I watch this video to learn about undertones I always leave confused 😁 I can’t spot most of the differences, this is so difficult 😩. Make up stores are no use, every time I go to Sephora or any other place I come with the wrong foundation, I always look too dark or grey.
Try to see if you look better in warm or cool colors. Then do contrast (soft- pastels, clear - bright colors, or dark - deep colors)
For example
- White or cream
- Yellow or blue
- Grey or brown
- Red or burgundy
- Navy or royal blue
- Orange or Burnt orange

we also have olive undertones
So one category is skipped here as I am in between dark brown as I am lighter than dark brown from the examples you gave but am also.not as light as the next category examples you gave of brown.
Brown to light brown in the winter, dark brown to deep dark brown in the summer.
Is it common to use Neutral or Golden foundations in the winter and warm in the summer?
Yes, but I wouldn't say it's necessarily because your undertone changes, but because there aren't that many products available in different shades but same undertones.

If you haven't already...can you please add a section about skintone and hair color. Example I have yellow undertone Carmel skin with grey hair. My natural makeup makes me look washed out. And clothes colors don't look the same. What color clothes goes grey/yellow hair?

my face is deep brown with low contrast but my chest is this LIGHT pale yellow color. I'm guessing my undertone is cool or neutral green-grey. That might explain why even as a dark skinned person, I sometimes see myself as pale compared to girls with richer skin tones.

Aaah this was confusing! My skin had a red undertone so you said cool. But then my veins are green so you said warm. Lol
