Hey guys, my high school just finished their last show of the Great Comet, and let me tell you guys, this song caused the most grief for the entire cast, this number took us so long to get through and master. All the other songs are really demanding even for an ensemble member like myself. But the “ha”s you hear are absolute hell to get through, especially if you don’t have the same voice parts around to support you. It’s this weird thing where different voice parts alternate and the rhythms are almost completely different for everyone. But besides this song, this musical was my first ever and it was such an amazing experience. Thanks for posting these videos to help me through personal practice time lmao
@@maryv372 the rights were actually released for high school and amateur theatre companies, our school got the rights and apparently we were the first high school in the state(or country idk) to do this show
god i have no idea why but something about 4:45 when Lucas Steele and the rest of the cast sing Natalie, Natalie, Natalie just scratches this itch in my brain, same with the abduction when they all sing that's the way, that's the way
I remember the first time I listened to the cast recording and I could not believe how different Josh Groban sounded. I remember being nervous that he’d be underwhelming and I ended up LOVING the album. I think it’s the only OBC album that I have the entire thing of. I wish he’d do more theater. He seems so cut out for it.
I got to see him in Sweeney Todd back in June! I'm a pretty big Great Comet fan so I was going feral when he walked to the front of the stage for the first time and god I wish he won the tony for best actor in 2017
@@charlieamorris04 no you can tell this is multiple different slime tutorials stitched together- the audience members are different between those different angles!
3:25 i love the guy in the audience absolutely digging this song

I just saw a local production and thought that was the case during this part. Can’t imagine how difficult that was
Your HIGH SCHOOL did this? Wow. Is this a school for performing arts?

@@brandonborlaza9205 That's absolutely amazing! You must have an awesome drama/music/speech department.

The whole musical is full of those little moments that just feel like "coming home" whenever I listen to them

He was once again robbed at the Tonys this year
@@elliefowler2508 I got to see him too! My first Broadway show ever! Flew my butt all the way from Alaska to see him and Ashford. It was so good!
do you know why there is no known footage at the start of the song? is there anything special that happens?
i know this comment is a year old but it's the beginning of the act so theres more attention to people potentially recording the performance lol
@@revolutionarygold Well this seems like it's probably a pro-shot since there's multiple camera angles.

Who is that on the balcony? Andrej, or Anatole?
Has to be Andrei because Pierre is singing to him
Yes, it's Andrey :)
