- Steven Rinella is an outdoorsman, author, and television host. He currently hosts “MeatEater” on the Sportsman Channel & Netflix, and a podcast also called “MeatEater” available on iTunes & Stitcher.
Love Rinella man, such a down to earth guy. One of the few guests that isn't afraid to bust Joe's balls
Jay Gee and one of the first guests to dig at joe and ask somewhat personal questions about himself, his health and vision, his kids, politics and the way he approaches individual podcasts and his tactics. This is sort of a first but I would attribute it to Joe looking up to Steve. Joe admires people, but you can sense that he actually looks up to Steve. Joe also noted previously that he only listens to 2 or 3 podcasts. To my knowledge they are Meateater, Stuff You Should Know and RadioLab.
Agreed. He’s mentioned that he listens to Sam Harris’ Making Sense podcast, too.

Stephen is one of my favorite guests when he’s on. I’m not into hunting or anything at all either, he’s just an interesting guy and makes great conversation.

I can listen to Rinella all day. Yes, I am very much into the outdoors, have been my entire life, but Steve has expanded just exactly how much I get from being in the wild.
I could listen to Steve 24-7. He’s so damn smart, articulate, and such a good representative for hunting. Keep it up!

Having never hunted and fished maybe a couple of times I agree.
What did you think about their opinion on sharks? I was surprised they seem to have no love for them at all. I feel they're important as an Apex predator keeping fisheries healthy but I don't wanna be in the water with one!
@@faceplants2 the problem with a lot of people's opinions on sharks is that they assume all sharks are at risk of extinction or that because they are at risk one location they are at risk everywhere.
Even if your not a hunter, Rinella always has great stories to tell and Joe and him always have the oddest but interesting conversations.
Joe and rinella are really good friends lol they hunt together quite a bit in his meat eater show

Hey man get out and hunt. You don't have to be successful to get an appreciation for what it is to be a hunter. Getting close to a wild animal, and interacting with it is life changing. Can't get that at the zoo.
I am an avid hunter and this guy is just awesome man. Very grounded and not egotistical. Especially respect his common sense ideas and values on hunting and conservation.

I've never hunted in my life, I know very little about it (I had a childhood friend that lived out in the country and him and his father would hunt - woke up at his place one morning to him shooting a rifle right out the window at some turkeys that had wandered into the yard, but that's the extent of it), but man I love this guy's show. It's such an entertaining show. He really makes hunting look fucking intense, spiritual, disciplined, relaxing, exhilarating and fun.
