Boy, am I late to this party.
Better late than never! ✨✨✨
Let’s go!!!
Same 😅
Better late than never
You sure are buddy!!!
Why am I just finding this gem? Like seriously, born in 81 and how did I miss this? It's been on a loop for the better part of 4 hours. Obsessed.
Same as you. Born in 81and Just found it now.
Joining the born in 81 thread
Born in '70 and this hits all the buttons. Just remarkable music. Incredible that these two tracks are the same band. These ladies have so much depth.
no one knows until they know.

As a musician and avid music lover, I have no Idea how I missed this group. I feel like I'm from a different place, but this feels like home. Crazy right, well 2023 is about to start and I got a feeling its about to be wild.
This girls are the best! Give a listen to the live sessions in the KeXP and The Basement, its even better than the studio versions 🎶
Literally in the same boat dude. This band is right up my alley. Love Is To Die was my introduction.
@Joe Verloove bro I'm blaming the shit on Mandela lmao
May I also suggest Skating Polly, Destroy Boys, and Amyl and the Sniffers!
if you like this, check out Santigold as well.
8 years later and this is still my aesthetic.
That’s so crazy to me because the first time I heard this was late 2017 when my best friend introduced me to them
Is it?
I’m right here….✨🥷✨
@@godlesspeacesign8852 why would you say that?
Is someone lying?
Please be honest...♥️
@@lindarussell4735 im asking too
Warpaint, where have you been all my life? I've been looking for you.
+Lula Wolf Same way Velvet Underground
+Lula Wolf I know right?!
+chipchipersonmdphd I appreciate your comment

Lula Wolf so do i, i've been thinking about that too
Jenny's bassline in Keep It Healthy is just sick. What a genius.
Hell yeah!!!
Difficult to believe such an amazingly talented focus of energy is not pictured on a god coin somewhere
Music. Dance. Painting. Clothing design. Jenny is not just a genius, she's a creative polymath.
Her grooves are amazing
Why am i here ? and then it hits me
Oh my it's my first time hearing this. I'm speechless.
OMG, I'm 51 and I just found this, I am HOOKED!!!!😍😍😍💥👊👊👊👌
I'm 55, and have been following the girls for almost twenty years... don't feel bad, just catch up. ;)

I love how Stella doesn't try to be in the eye of camera and she just play on that thing.
what is this?????????
Yeah, same here, I always wondered that too!
she is the one to fall in love..
They're a toy drum kit made by Radioshack from the 80s
@@maurodoll For sure, she is the one
Girl with the pink hair is killin it, I literally watch this video to see how much fun she's having. It's like she's dancing but not for the camera. She's dancing and the camera happens to be there.
Nice
Same : D
she's the bassist, bassists are always the best dancers
jenny Lee... she makes me wish I were 20 years younger.
I flippin love her. Want to be her. She's my spirit woman, a 20 year younger version of myself. I want to know you, Jenny!
The bassline and the bassist's dance is what makes this
indeed
killer drum beat as well. vocals could use some work.
It’s definitely the dance for me
@@RobertSlover The masculine urge to become an art critic whenever women do anything is disgusting
@@spacebender7856 the music is all that matters.

@@pinmojo7670 Dude, it wasn't even funny the first time you posted it. by the 50th time, the Internet gods were looking for a picture of you to make an "idiot boy" meme...
As a 30 year old I aspire to be as cool as this band when I grow up
I'm 60 and me too!
This is the kind of shit that gives you a mid life crisis.

I'm mean, they were in their 30s when they made this...
As a 32 year old... Still trying
I discovered this band four years ago, and I also don't understand how I had never heard of them before. Since then, I've become addicted to their magical sound and always come back to listen more. And they look cool as hell
They kill.
My cousin recommended this to me years ago, and today I come to remember them, because it gives me the same feeling as the first time
this video is actually a neverending live broadcast from another layer of reality
LATFH
Fucking coolest chicks in history. Love you ladies.
Correct
It’s awesome how they integrated a famous skate spot into the main setting for a music video. Years later I find their music even better than before.
Massive shoutout not just to these incredibly creative musicians but also to the engineers who finetuned the entire landscapes perfectly for both tracks. The effects on the vocals and instruments, as well as the mixing is absolutely brilliant.
They are also the engineers.
Hey sir fiz sounds like your up on mixing how did they get that crazy sound on Elephants?
Dunno....ya know that part of learning a skill where u have just gotten some sense of what goes into the craft but your own skill and understanding is pretty limited so you're really just in awe of what really talented people can do?
That's where I'm at lol 😅
I hear it and pick up on details of awesome things that are at play, but i have little if any clue how it's achieved. Just a bedroom producer ngl. Put me at a Pro Tools station and catch me slackjawed. I'm the dude looking over the shoulder in amazement.
Just hype... 🎉
Esp now hearing the band does it themselves.
What I'll say is they really dial in the tone of every instrument, the amps and drums, how everything is mic'd, and how it's recorded, processed, mixed and mastered to achieve what seems the exact desired effect.
This is one of those bands where you can listen to a track over and over, keep picking up new details and really dig how brilliantly everything is put together. ❤
@@dklustickthat's incredible. Just playing their parts would be enough, but dayum. 😊
The girl with the pink hair. I have such a crush on her. Her moves are phenomenal.
Jenny Lee Lindberg, the bass player. She is easily one of the best bass players out there, her grooves are complicated, beautiful and always perfect. This is one of the few Warpaint songs where she sings any lead vocals, although she sings backing vocals on almost all of their songs. She also put out a solo album last year calling herself JennyLee; I don't like it as much as Warpaint, but there are some good tracks.

Green Grub to each their own
aw! get better soon.
fr I got chronic ADHD and this whole album is one of the best albums I've heard to help with getting work done etc. something about that bassline.
Jenny Lee Lindberg understood the assignment and the camera knows it
Whole reason I got into the bass. She is a stone cold fox
If I was the camera man I would be stuck on her too...she's smokin
It's because she has the biggest melons.

Stella, carrying the portable drum pad makes me smile.
What is this drum pad does anyone know? Brand / manufacturer?
@@emilyrussell3299 thanks but no ... It's a drum machine by radioshack. I found one on eBay and bought it but I haven't tried it yet. Looks like fun!
ua-cam.com/video/n0sWQTUV7j0/v-deo.html
You’re both right. Radio Shack is known for repackaging other manufacturer’s products under the “Realistic” moniker.
Warpaint are the fucking masters of playing that muted chord that makes that 'trapped inside a tin box' sound. Prue trademark Warpaint. Fuckin' rocks
For example? Time stamp?
0:42 & 1:30 to 2:14 just that thing of you half cover the guitar fret board and make that matallic sound
Humanshieldchorus00 they have a name for that in guitar playing, it's called harmonics.
I'm pretty sure Issac Brock of Modest Mouse is the king of harmonics
That's hard to argue with, i'd agree with that.
I think the girl with pink hair already lives in slo motion or something she’s groovin so naturally.
This is actually how i spent most of my 90’s; dancing and rollerskating around skateboarders. Super fun
The first part "Disco//Very" deserves awards for its originality and greatness, I love how its just the girls walking and dancing and singing. I just heard of these girls last week and I already bought their record on vinyl :)
Luis Ramos TOTALLY AGREE!
Luis Ramos Agree! "Disco//Very" is one of the best and most original songs I've discovered lately. I wish they will do more songs like this in the future. "Keep It Healthy" is not bad, but sounds a lot like old Lush music...
I've got a recce
after seeing them live i can confirm , they are the siren's from Homer's Odyssey.
lmfao
They've got a melody that can kill, they'll eat you alive.

Dude wtf. I've been reading Homer's Odyssey lately and I'm going to watch these girls live in about two weeks. Now I know what to expect!
I saw them and thought the same thing....my god these ladies are modern day sirens!!! I want to collaborate with them one day!

That bass!
This song rips. I genuinely like it more each time I listen to it. I'm going to have to familiarize myself with more of their music.

They have tapped into some seriously powerful and ancient archetypes it gives me chills big time...
Which archetypes have you spotted?!?
There really is something uncanny about the whole thing...its just somehow so familiar... I JUST came across this ,like, 2 weeks ago
Exactly my thoughts. It's like they know something...and they're inviting us....
... like... Radiohead?
...is THAT why I feel like this music laughs at my defenses and scores a direct hit...? It sounds so UNIQUE yet so FAMILIAR... sorry I know this comment was left 2 years ago, but I wish we knew what archetypes they might be, and how they can give someone a wave of joy that is somehow reassuringly menacing

I have been listening to this song and to Warpaint for years, and it just clicked for me that disco//very = discovery.
Honestly apart from the fully pink hair, they'd be right at home at the back of the dancefloor in every pub gig I played in the early 90's, dancing exactly like that.
This is so grunge retro. love it.
Here in 2024! Just discovered! I’m totally in!!!! ❤❤❤❤ Where have you been hiding!
My favorite Warpaint song is Undertow, but this song makes me want to hear Warpaint do a cover of The Waitresses' 'I know what boys like.' I know they would nail that song...
+starkid77 OH MY GOODNESS I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING!!
