  • Due South related interviews from the Dini Petty show featuring Paul Gross, Ramona Milano, Dean McDermott and Draco (known as Diefenbaker).
Don't know the exact broadcast dates (help me out here please! :-)) but I assume they were aired somewhere between 1998 and 1999.
Sorry about the somewhat choppy editing. This was originally a long clip from a VHS tape (obviously) with no space between the cuts.

Paul Gross is amazingly talented. His range is wide and he has a charming modest easy going demeanour. Chasing Rainbows, Men with Brooms, Gunless, H2O just to name a few of his other works really showcase his talent and his good looks. He’s very saucy in “Eastwick.” ABC should have kept it going. I’m doubtful that low ratings ended that show as it’s showing a popularity of 81%.

American fan of Due South here. Bullet points:
D.S. was in some very rarefied air; very high quality entertainment, one of only a handful of shows and films I will say that about. So much good stuff in each episode: drama, comedy, action, romance, etc.. And I get the feeling that there IS a bit of Benton Fraser in Paul Gross. You can't play that kind of character without having a little of him rub off on you.
This is my first time seeing segments from any Canadian talk show. Very good stuff. No pandering, no trendy junk, just solid, down-to-Earth interviews done in a relaxed, natural style that I find very comfortable. I can imagine being on that stage, being interviewed for who-knows-what, but not feeling at all on the spot or under a microscope. Dini is good at this.
I like the way Gross owned up to having brought the show to an end himself, and I liked his reason for it. Close it out before it becomes a strain to write and produce, before it begins to rot on the vine. Every episode good. No clinkers.

8:55-10:15 made me feel so much better. It's not just me, thank you so much, Paul. I was going "yes/exactly/right!" the entire time, and, well, in general it's just comforting to know that even people as objectively beautiful as he is think they look funny sometimes.. :)

..and I also love how when she asked him if he was married and had children and he said yes he immediately went "Oh, sorry!". He realized he had probably just broken a few hearts or bursted a few bubbles, and I think his reaction is very sweet. :)

Gray eyes are fantastic: gray in the sun: color is affected by the color of clothes/
wall color. Gray, blue, green, even black.

Agree totally with Paul Gross, the show was terrific but CBS botched it, didn't know how to promote it and they kept moving it around, my opinion only I think they should have left it on Fridays at 8 or 9 p.m. time slot and gave it a chance to gain more viewers...

The lacing technique must be similar to the English Field Boot:

How awkward that first interview was.... It took a long while before Dini knew how to interview Paul and how to put him at ease... It was painful to watch... Contrary to other comments, I really don't think Dini's a good interviewer...

She's very natural and not full of herself. This is beginning great!

I so agree….”where the buffalo roam???? Really??? A good interviewer doesn’t get stuff like that wrong because it’s rude and disrespectful. A good interviewer showcases their guest, sits back and lets the guest have the floor and the limelight instead of trying to get in on it. Clearly she doesn’t prepare herself, just wings it. I could never watch the Dini Petty show for more than a few moments, because no matter the guest, she never let them finish a sentence and the way she poses her questions is groan evoking🙄
