    I wound up taking my carb off cleaning 3 times to no avail. You showing the idle screw had me doing this for the 4th.
    After cutting new gaskets from a cereal box, cleaning up the carb yet again, and taking a very small fish hook, cutting it so I could ream The main jet, reassemble and good to go.
    Thanks again.

    Not the Hondas fault , its as you said leaving fuel sitting in the machine for too long .
    Just cleaned out my mariner outboard with the same problem after fuel was left in it for 10months .

    OK, I had the same problem with my Pressure Washer "surging". I took the Carburetor apart and cleaned that about four times but it kept surging. The pump I dismantled completely and found a small piece of rubber washer from where I don't know as I checked all of the washers and none were broke. It was stuck in one of the small tubes where there are small valves with rubber caps and springs under them.I really had to take a good look and I found it when I was pushing the valves down with a tiny screw driver. One just wasn't moving like the others. I took a small pair of surgical clamps, very great to get little parts, and plucked the piece of broken washer out of the tube. I then re-seated all of the valves and carefully pushed them up and down to make sure they worked. Pump back together, new oil and all cleaned up and the surging was fixed. Just saying that if you look at the Carburetor make sure you look at the Pump. If the Pressure Washer only surges when you put a load on (pressing the wand gun trigger), then you'd better look at the Pump. Disassemble, diagnose, new oil (PUMP OIL!!!!! - Karcher KA-8.901.077) and reassemble you're looking at about four hours to do a REALLY good job. Oil was BLACK, new Oil is clear and the Pressure Washer works like a champ. Hope some of this helps!

    Wished you had shown just what a bugger it is to put the carb back on. Each gasket and the pain it is to keep them aligned while assembling the throttle and choke linkages, then putting the pcv tube on and bolting through all the individual pieces and not having anything fall off as your doing it.

      @Magic One Next time get yourself a couple pieces of threaded rod, same diameter. Remove one screw, replace with a threaded rod. This rod is now a stud. Now, do the same thing to the other side.
      Do whatever you needed to do with the carb, then, when you’re done and putting everything back to together, do the rod/stud/screw procedure in reverse. Not only does this save me a ton of time, it eliminates my frustration and irritation. Hope this helps you. Greetings from the American Midwest.

    Having cleaned my carb twice, I found the gasket behind the heat spacer was part worn thin and not sealing fully. The long mounting bolts give a bit of flex and with the carb coming off for cleaning fairy often, I guess it wears out.

      Fuel filter screen at fuel tank connection.

    • @PowerScissor
      @PowerScissor 4 роки тому +2

      Basically, start at fuel tank and clean everything all the way to the output shaft the blades on. Such a simple design that you're sure to fix it. It's usually a fuel delivery problem (partially clogged at screen or tubing), carburetor or near it, governor system (bunch of linkage with springs that rev engine if you manually move them) Hit all the links in the linkage with WD-40 and get them nice and loose, check there's no buildup in fuel lines, clean carburetor, and everything you see with compressed air and 95% of the time there's nothing else to look at. The usual stuff like new oil, new gas, etc. doesn't hurt either.

    Before seeing your video, I replaced the carb, plug, filter, gas - used SeaFoam (3 products) in new carb, in chamber directly, in fuel - still surging. I purchased this new and use it every month so the gas is not sitting. The last thing that happened I can tie it to was I turned it on its side to put the rubber foot back on the bottom. When I started it, it spit out all kinds of smoke and this surging problem started. Having assumed that excessive oil in combustion areas was the issue - is why I went after cleaning the chamber, plug, etc. if you have any other ideas, it's appreciated.

      Try blowing out your fuel lines as well, change the fuel filter (if you have one) if it hasnt been changed in the last 12 months. Also start it without the air filter. Try starting. If it still does it. Spray some starter spray in through the air filter, see if it makes a difference when spraying (spray while its running). If it does, then you know its fuel related
