- Many new controllers have come out in 2022 and a ton seems to be on the Xbox Series X and S consoles. PDP has had a plethora of new controllers and the latest is the Afterglow Wave wired controller. The controller comes in two color varieties right now, black and white. In this video, I will unbox and test the black version.

Your comment helped me big time! Thank you
i had the prismatic one before the Elite Gen 1 controller came out. Yes i went through 1 a year but at £25/30 i couldn't complain.
Awesome I love unboxing controller and unboxing games
the fact it comes with an xbox game pass ticket is awesome, I ordered mine on Amazon too.
Does the game pass ticket work? I’m bouta order one soon
yea it does, enter the code online though@@spidermancoolkid12
@@spidermancoolkid12 mine worked but needed a credit card i didnt pay a cent
I got one about a week ago! And man I’m impressed with it! I love way more than the wireless controller. No batteries, very light, way better price!
Did you ever get your Xbox ultimate pass code from them
@@khaldoon9650mine came with it
Does it have stick drift yet?
I bought one of these controllers out of sheer curiosity when I saw it at my local Walmart, the design certainly caught my attention.
I have to say, I've been really pleased with it so far. It feels nice and sturdy, the joysticks are very responsive and no signs of drift or excessive deadzone anywhere, and the coloured lights look fantastic.
Only downside I've had so far (and this might be a case-by-case situation) is that part of the matte coating on the plastic for me began to rub off when I was cleaning it, leaving the shiny plastic coating underneath. It doesn't affect using the controller at all so its not a big deal, but I did think it would've held up a bit longer than only a few hours out of the box!
Apart from that though, no complaints so far.
Also, PDP recently released a third variant for this controller, in Gray.
Be careful with what you use to clean your controllers. It sounds very abrasive. I haven't had any issues with mine thus far. It's become my first backup when my batteries die in my regular one and I don't want to hassle with the charge station.
You are underrated I subbed
Thank you for that. I appreciate it.
Their mixed in with the Xbox controllers at our store.I picked one up to match my PC & it pretty good but wished it was wireless.
Wireless would be cool, but it would probably be $15-$20 more.
They're*
I just bought this controller and all i get from the customize RBG is a guide and that's it. I don't have the same options you have. I updated the controller and all
Edit;
I just reinstalled the app and it works. This damn app, causing nothing but problems.
The controller is nice, looks very good in person. However the LB and RB buttons are so flat on the top feels very annoying, they should be curved towards the edges going down slightly like the previous pdp controllers
I used my pocket knife and made a few slashes. Made it better imo. Problem fixed
I would like to thankypu for this video as it was the deciding factor on me getting the controller or not
Glad I could help.
Do they still come with an Xbox game pass card? They have these at my Walmart but the box doesn't say it comes with an Xbox game pass card like yours does
Some doesn’t have gamepass
I have the fuse black one and the sticks act funny and I literally got it in about a week ago. I recalibrate the thumbsticks and they still act weird.
ask for a replacement . the prob in the product u bought ig
Thank you
Question: does this controller vibrate when you play the game? I'd like to know before I buy. and also, how long is that cable? Thank you!
It does vibrate in games and the wire is like 2.4 metres long
@@DragoXkh thank you for the reply! I appreciated it!
If my 6th PowerA controller I just got doesn’t last long I might give this one a try
I got one for Christmas but u can't use it cuz u have to use all ure strength to get it to fully connect but then it just disconnects right after
I’ve had this controller for 2 months and didn’t know it could do that
That's where reading the manual would have helped.
Can I re map the back buttons?
When it comes to the game pass free month. They work but you have to be a new member. If you already have a profile and try using it it will not work. Here's what I do.. I bought this controller I didn't even know it came with a game pass code. But when I get these I just create a new account and I put the code in.and it gives every profile on my Xbox access to online play.
Yes that account is the only one that can use the cloud but you can install pass games whenever. Like I already have starfield installed and my other account has the game pass trial on it so I can play starfield from my main account still
Hello, I have two questions
1. Does the two extra buttons from the back of the controller can be used as the triggers? I tries but it did't work so I wanted to know if it was just a personal problem or if it is supposed to work like that.
2. I use 2 controllers, a wireless and this one. The thing is that the vibration works better on the wireless controller because it vibrates almost with everything but this wired controller doesn't vibrate that much, just with some games even though I have the vibration on in every game. Do you know if it is a normal thing with the wired controllers or it just happens with this one?
(I forgot to specify that I want it to vibrate because I like that option)
Thanks for reading and sorry if this comment is very long.
Download the PDP app for your Xbox. From there you can customize button settings.
I bought one of these and loved it at first. I wore out one of the analog sticks so I bought another and this one has been a huge disappointment. It just randomly disconnects all the time during game play and I have no idea why.
Take care of your wire then
@Annessa Weddell it was brand new out of the box. There was an issue with port so I had a warranty and returned it. The new one works fine.
Plz can you tell me why my profile is not working and why it kicks me out when I enter lights and now there is no light how do I activate the lights back
Somebody knows why my controller only vibrates while using the app? When playing it seems to vibrate minimally or just do not vibrates at all...
how come my wired controller from Walmart won’t connect
I got one they are awesome i got mine from Walmart
Mine keeps turning off when it moves so idk what to do
I need help my controller won’t connect to the Xbox got any ideas?
Just now I SMASHED THE HELL out of my PDP.
THEY ARE THEE WORST Fn Junk controllers EVER. A total waste of money.
I had 4 over a three year period , and that doesn't include the Microsoft controller that burned out, and the Power A that had unfixable stick drift
EVERYTHING TODAY IS JUST CHEAP CHINA MADE JUNK.
NOT ONE LASTED OVER 4 MONTHS.
All 4 developed stick drift within 2 months because the potentiometers are made very cheap, and the back/forth movement causes excessive wear inside them, which develops black dust that either breaks the connection, or causes a connection that shouldn't be there.
On a couple , I was able to pull away the potentiometer cover, remove the contact dial inside, and clean out the inside with Qtip & isopropyl alcohol. Worked for a couple weeks then returnec
But the contact material inside the potentiometer wears out very easy from the joystick movement, eventually killing it or unfixable stick drift.
No such thing as resetting or calibrating. Doesnt work.
Plus, the long thick cable always sticks up off the floor and gets snagged or tripped on, pulling on the controller.
Got snagged so many times. Twice on my foot just playing.
The cable was under the front of my foot and when I stood up the controller got yanked out of my hand, falling onto the Left Button, and broke inside. This happened on 2 controlers. One was a week old.
Pulled it apart and noticed extremely thin plastic, weakened by an access hole they made for a screw, In a real stupid spot. Just a very very poor design inside. Like everyone, I loved it at first. But to use it daily for hours ? FORGET IT.
I see so many people go for aesthetics instead of durability and functionality. Pretty colorful lights and designs dont make a good steady aim and kill shot.
OH YEA, that THICK usb cable ?
It hangs on the usb port causing the port to eventually get a lose connection.
Something else with the joystick.
Normally you can the center. Feel where up-down left--right all meet, it had like a bump feel, dead center, but now theres nothing there anymore, just sloppy.
And if you have a Clenching habbit, the joystick return spring wears fast.
The app is a joke, and stupid.
You cant disable buttons. The app only allows you to RE- assign a button , and not disable it. I think THAT was a just real moronic decision.
AND THERE IS NO JUSTIFIABLY REASON TO FORCE YOU TO MAKE AN ACCOUNT, JUST TO USE THE APP
real question can you conet to moble and play with cloud
This might sound like a crazy question but CAN you also run this without the wire ? Like is there an internal battery that recharges once you plug in the wire
No. It's a wired controller and can't be used without a wire.
The sticks on mine are acting funny ingame, making the looking act funny, any idea what's wrong?
That just sounds like a manufacturing defect. I'd just exchange it. I haven't had a single problem with mine and most people I've talked to haven't had an issue either. Sorry about that.
I'm having the same problem too. I got the fuse black controller after a week and this problem started like 3 days from now. I recalibrate the sticks and it still acts up. I contacted customer support and they don't even contact me back.
@@j_ttybro6516 my sticks have just stopped working, I going to get it exchanged
Hello, I want to ask a question: which controller do you think is better, the PDP afterglow wave or the Power A infinity spectra
I prefer the Afterglow Wave.
@@RedBandanaGaming ok thanks
My PowerA controller developed stick drift before a year was up, from what I have found out this is a problem with that make. No idea how the PDP one will work out as I have only gotten it today

I recently got a pdp xbox controller and it says it included xbox game pass but the code doesn't work is there any fix to this? I have a series s idk if that helps
Everyone seems to be having this problem. If you already have Game Pass, it won't work, but must times, the code just doesn't work. Unfortunately, I have no clue why and I haven't gotten an answer either.
i just tested mine out after a few months of having the controller and it worked i had to enter the last 6 digits of the code, luckily i kept the paper that had the code on it cause i remember when i first got it it didn’t work the first few times, id say just try after a day or a few hours
Nice video bruv .I've heard this can be overclocked if done on pc could it then be used overclocked on xbox?
What the name app
Pdp control hub
It's the controller durable?
So far it has been. I've only dropped it once, but it was just a fall off my couch onto the floor and it's carpet.
Can the app be installed on a PC? Or it has to be an XBOX?#_

Cant get mine to do anything,
Can u use it on pc?
What’s the app called?
it’s call pdp control hub on xbox
It is all good apart from the trigger started squeaking a day after having it
I've had trigger squeaking develop quite a few third party controllers. It seems to be a common issue for some odd reason.
Got this today for my birthday and the sticks are acting up, is it worth exchanging?
Yes. I really do enjoy using this controller. I would recommend exchanging it.
Makes new accounts for gamespass
Mine has no rgb profiles
Did you use the app?
Does it work on xbox one
Yes
Let me get that code 😭 just kidding but great video man I might get one soon
brooo you didn't even go to custom rgb zones😭
I didn't even realize it had those until later. Lol. It took me another 30 minutes a few days later to figure out about some other features that aren't really as easy to figure out in that app. The app is kinda crap, btw.
@@RedBandanaGaming where do you even get the app?
@RedBandanaGaming the app i crap...just got mine today..had the time to explore that whole app...its preety trash but with soo many effects and options to do with the rgb...you can even put every single rgb to a different colour and effects and yes i said every single rgb...but my favourite was that you can change some of the rgb to rumble..soo everytime you get shot or something like that it just flasshes😩

Search PDP on the store on your Xbox. That's all I did and it showed up.
It doesn't show the app for me too.
Edit: it shows it but when I click the app it shows some errors "app not found"
Does the controller last long and do the sticks get stick drift fast
What do you mean by last long? It is a wired controller, so you don't have to worry about battery life. Otherwise, I've had no issues with it since I made this video.
@@RedBandanaGaming like will the controller last up to 7 months idk
Whats da app name ?
Does it have to be plugged in all the time or just to charge?

It works on Windows 10/11 PCs.
Can u switch the back buttons I’m struggling 😭
What do you mean when you say switch? What are you trying to switch them too. You can use the PDP app on Xbox to customize your controller.
Does it connect to a Xbox one console?
Yes
Does this make your Xbox perform harder or stress it a bit more?
Nope, not at all. I use it regularly.

You'd be surprised how often that isn't true. So many people seem to wait till they get their new controller to sub or renew. I've seen a ton of comments about it over the last few years doing these videos.
