that's just a normal winter in cumbria/weardale/teesdale that.......I lived in the arse-end of nowhere (ireshopeburn) n got snowed in for 2 weeks once. I miss the mental winters there.....
Thanks for the vid I'm just up the road in Hallbankgate- I nipped to Alston yesterday down the Brampton road- wasn't bad, dropped a few bits of for our elderly family there... I think 500 or so homes are now on generator power while NW Electric sort out the probs....
Ross Dixon, Thanks for watching, I just found out that the power is back on in Alston it came on last night and I hope your family is ok in the cold weather.
Thanks for this. Its a great part of the world that has not yet been completely spoiled by tourism unlike 30 miles west. I have been up that road a couple of times in conditions just like that. There are five great drivers roads into Alston, my favorite being the one South via Langdon Beck to Middleton in Teesdale. It is interesting how the camera makes the hills look lower and flatter than they are and the roads less steep. I plan to visit again in February when I definitely will have my winter tyres on the car.
PMSL at the Brand NEW Audi stuck. Get some winter tyres and your Audi is unstoppable. (on a snowy road - Not so useful offroad - especially if its lowered) 😁
you have to get the local farm out bed to give him tow of the tow truck it funny to see the way to the ski lift i alston back is so full of snow so early
The truck managed to turn around when I came back down from filming and the road had road closed singes up so he shouldn't have gone though the closed singes and the car driver was just having fun in the snow and he was ok and not stuck. glad to see the ski lifts working at Alston, thanks andreas e.
I don't understand why that truck was stuck. His rear drive axles must have slid off the road into a ditch along the side because the snow is only four inches deep ... which isn't much ... and it's even been plowed once.
I think he was trying the turnaround and a recovery truck was on the way to tow him out, the road was closed for a day. thanks, Abraham for watching and commenting.
Should you not have got out and checked if that recovery lorry driver was ok, infact just looked around. When I worked up there we checked out any thing that looked like it need help, lives depend upon it when so remote
Watching from 26C Texas. So beautiful my friend.
Thank you! Cheers for watching Lone Star Travels.

Thanks James, I hope you got to Penrith ok.
I think the first guy wanted to speak to you!
Yes, he did, but if I stopped I would have got stuck and on the way down he had gone so he was ok, thank you Mally Hughes.
Very interesting. Sorry it takes so long for me to get to things as we have gotten busy here at my son's place. Thanks for sharing and God bless.
I understand, me to not having enough hours in the day to respond to everyone, thank you.

Well ...well done egertons pickup 4x4 for telling you road was blocked...😖
He went up to pick the driver up from the stuck truck as a recovery vehicle was on the way, thanks carol & dave.
How did you get to Alston from Melmerby? Best regards Martin
Hi UK Cycling, I drove around to Branton and up to Slaggyford to Alston, thank you for watching.
What vehicle are you driving? Just wondering how a recovery vehicle gets stuck but you don't?
I am driving a Citron C2, thanks Lindsay Ann.

Why did you have to turn around? There looked to be loads of room to the right hand side of the road...
The snow was too deep for my car and I would have got stuck, thanks Adam dale for watching.
Are you driving a 4 x 4 ?
No a C2 Citron Paul Smith, thanks for watching.
What tyres do you have on?
All weather tyres they do make a difference, thanks Mike for watching
@@EdenValleyAdventuresUK thought it had to be more than standard with the rate you were moving!
Am in Penrith so I know what Alston can get like pretty well.
Jonathan Walker for watching the video.
I be cycled up there .... Not in winter tho 😂😂😂
Thanks Mick It's a long ride up to the top, good one.

The driver had already been picked up and a recovery truck was on the way so maybe I should explain more in my videos what's going on.
You where brave going out to film in those conditions
Thanks Keith good to let people know what the weather is like up here in the North.
