- Let's chat about organizing yarn from the stash. A couple of the diamond art ornaments I've been making this July. Also, a gift exchange with my friend, Diane at MyPinkBathTub Knits.... Watch videos here and also watch on Diane's channel....

• Watch my videos each day to see how to enter your name, as the secret words will be different on each video. As soon as I see your comment with the secret word, I will add your name and the date on the wheel.

One of my favorite Christmas memories is seeing trees hanging outside of trucks going down the road. Really gets me in the mood.
My father used to go to the tree farm and cut one each year. This is a memory for me too. :-)
There is nothing better than a Christmas tree with an ornament with a truck!
My older son has a lot of decorations that have red trucks. I think I will surprise him with the truck ornament attached to one of his Christmas gifts this year. I hope he likes it. :-)

Would love a truck full of yarn. The diamond art is pretty and would be great to do over the holiday season.

Hi Lisa! Diane and I have been able to video chat together, and it will be wonderful to meet in person one day. On my wish-list (after my husband and I are both are retired), is to purchase a small van we can sleep in, and travel. Manitoba will definitely be on my list of destinations!
@YarnWithHeart that sounds great. In Australia, a lot of retirees sell up and do that. Just travel in their campervans all around the country.

My dad takes his truck every year to get a real Christmas tree for our family! We have had an artificial tree in past years, but it isn't the same as having the smell of a real tree!
The yarn Diane got you for today is absolutely gorgeous!! I don't know if you have any idea of what to make with it yet, but it really will be a pretty make!!!
I don't have a Christmas favorite. I enjoy singing Christmas carols with several church members. We go to the Nursing homes and to others homes and sing outside their windows!
Great sorting ideas!! Keep crocheting and knitting!!
My dad also used to get a tree every Christmas. Now we use an artificial tree because family members cannot be around the real ones. You are right about how the smell of the tree really does make things feel Christmas-y! Diane knows me so well, and the yarn -- the colour -- everything is so lovely!
Never tried diamond painting. Cute diamond ornaments like the truck with the tree. I will try it
These ornaments are the first time I tried diamond painting and I am really enjoying it. If you decide to try, I hope you enjoy it too. (I chose the ornaments because they were small in size and would not overwhelm me. Now I think I might try something a bit bigger next.)

Love the truck diamond painting truck. I love the Monster Mash. Fun song to dance to. Like the way you organized your yarn. I need to work on mine and organize it better.
I am happy that you enjoyed the yarn organization. It did take the better part of a weekend to plan and do, but time well spent. I hope that selecting yarns for blankets and other larger projects will now become easier. (Thinking of the Monster Mash song brings me very happy memories of fun dancing with my sister.)

Hi Cathy. Very organized! Great job! It’s always nice to be able to go, look, and grab what you need without sorting every time. Best tree/truck story for us is the year it started pouring when getting our tree so just threw it in the back of the truck and didn’t tie it down as the farm was close by and on a back road 😂 yes, tree blew out, in front of the kindergarten teachers car. Her and her husband were betting on whether we’d make it. Small town here so we all know each other and laughed about it. You’re looking to be feeling better today, glad to see it.
You have the absolute best tree/truck story that I have ever heard! I could picture it happening as I read your comment. And imagine after blowing out of the truck, that there was a definite good side and not-so-good-side to your tree that year. :-)
Cute diamond art ornaments. My neighbor took out her overgrown shrubs. It looked just like Christmas when she loaded her red truck with the tree to take to the compost site.
Taking out those shrubs would have been a big job for your neighbor! It really does look different once the work is done and things are cleared away -- well worth all the effort!
One of my earliest memories was going to get our family tree at the tree farm and a family friend had an old green truck we got to bring them back in!
Every year, my father would cut a tree at the tree farm and bring it home in the back of his truck. What a happy day that was!

Glad to hear you are feeling better and were able to get a good sleep. That green Medina is sooooo nice! i enjoyed seeing how you have organized your yarn. I never thought of organizing according to hook/needle size. Mine is arranged to look pretty but I do keep somewhat of a spread sheet with the colour, weight and quantity of each specific yarn. Your diamond art with the tree, truck and Santa are cute.
What a great idea to keep a spreadsheet to organize your yarn! I have a bit of yarn in totes (that I don't use as often), and that would be such a good way to keep track of what I have -- and where. Thank you for sharing. :-)
Hello Cathy, happy to see that you are feeling better. We have a Christmas tradition, on the first Sunday of December, we all get in my hubby's truck and go pick up our Christmas tree at a local farmer. Then a few days later, we move it in the house and decorate it listening to Christmas music. I don't really have a favorite song, they are all so much fun.
I love this Christmas tradition of yours! Everyone in your family would look forward to all that fun and togetherness. When it comes to Christmas songs, I couldn't choose a favorite either... there are so many great ones!

So glad you are feeling better. We had SUCH a loud thunder storm last night. It kept me up most of the night. We do have a small pine tree that I know it’s loving the extra moisture. Organization ideas always welcome. No matter how much I would love a truck load of new yarn, I already struggle with organizing the yarn I have 😄
I hope you have better weather soon, and that all is safe for you and yours (after the storm). Perhaps you will have an easier sleep tonight, if the weather has calmed. It is so difficult when one is awake most of the night... Very happy that you liked the organization ideas. :-)

We have an old truck and put a Christmas tree in the truck at Christmas time out front.

We don't have a truck, but we do have a tree in our front yard for providing a bit of shade for the family van.
How nice to have a shade tree in your front yard! There are many things that I like about living in an apartment -- and the thing I miss is a yard and garden.
Hey Cathy! So happy to hear you're getting better. I like the tree in the truck but I think my favorite this time is the gnome. I don't really like Christmas music but I do like " I want a hippopotamus for Christmas". Thanks for sharing your organization tips with us. Oooo, way to keep us in suspense, now I'm super excited for the next video. Can't wait to see what the Christmas themed blanket will be.
The hippopotamus song is a great one... I smile just thinking of it! (I have already done the video for tomorrow, otherwise I would -- for sure -- have mentioned this song!) I am feeling a lot better, and have a bit more energy which is such a relief!

Hello Cathy W. A truck is very valuable when trying to carry a fresh Christmas tree home from the Tree lot.
I totally agree. My Aunt tried bringing a small tree home in her car one year, and it really did not work out well for her at all. :-)

I have only had a real tree once it really bother my allergies.. so I use a fake one . One year I did a Charlie Brown tree and my kids got a laugh. Lots of lovely yarn . 🧶 I’ve not done diamond art . ❤
Some of my family members have allergies with a real tree. We have a fake tree here also -- very convenient and perfect size for the apartment. I think a Charlie Brown tree is great fun. :-)

This Christmas ornament set is my first try at diamond painting, and I found out that it is really fun. You are right -- that it is nice to have something different to do.
I love the idea of having a real tree at Christmas but unfortunately I’m allergic to pine. I remember we had a 1953 Chevy truck and Dad and one of my brothers would take it and bring back a tree that they had cut
In the same situation here, as some family members cannot have a real tree. It causes an "allergy situation" sometimes in the stores (where there are real boughs sold)... yet the real ones certainly do give a Christmas-y vibe to things.
(We have a slim, fake Christmas tree that fits nicely in our apartment. That works out well for us here.)
What a lot of organizing you did! Lists on the computer are so handy for adding and subtracting yarn in a collection. Will you try other seasonal diamond art ornaments? I've never had a tree large enough to need a truck to move it.

For diamond art, I would like to do some other interesting things. Maybe some of the shapes that can be hung in windows? Or coasters perhaps?

I’ve been trying to catch up viewing your videos. I am not sure if I will be entered in your prize wheel. I usually put up a Christmas tree each year during the holidays. I look forward to crocheting decorations such as bells, little trucks with trees on them, etc. Aurora ❤

I hope to have a real tree for Christmas this year. I like the 8:22 red truck items that are so popular. Beautiful color yarn what was the color name? My favorite song is "Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas" it has my name in it.
