- This week on 'Has It Aged Well?' we're discussing the 2013 film 'Kai Po Che' directed by Abhishek Kapoor and starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Rajkumar Rao, Amit Sadh, Amrita Puri and Manav Kaul. Joining Abbas and Urjita to discuss the film is filmmaker Jai Mehta, whose work includes 'Scam 1992', 'Lootere', 'Shahid' and more. Topics discussed include: How this film elevates the source material of the book, the gorgeous cinematography, how the three leads went on to have a bright future, how the film deals with controversial real life aspects and whether a story like this can be made in 2024?, Jai almost being a part of this film and a lot more.

I listened to the podcast on Apple Podcasts this morning and now I’m here to watch the video. This movie was a blast from the past because I was still in high school when I first watched this film and so much has happened in the careers of these actors since then. RIP SSR ❤
People recognized Sushant Singh Rajput's talent only after his passing, not during his lifetime
Note: Please ensure all the mics can be heard from all camera angles
Is it me? No one seems to have noticed the poor Mike etiquette in this episode. All said and done, the show is primarily an audio based program.
The audio kept drifting in & out during the episode numerous times.
You guys either use the available mikes or use a collar Mike!
In the book, Ali does become a cricketer at the end. In the book it is said that he had quick reflexes which majorly helped him but during the end he gets a injury around spinal region and loses his quick reflexes. But he does become a cricketer as he was talented and well coached.
Jay has talked about Citylights more than KPC here i think, and it’s tricky when you have a filmmaker or technical person i guess, because unless they’re really fans of the movie they’re maybe less invested in that film and its parts. Maybe if he had watched it back it may have helped. I really wanted you guys to talk about the elements of this somewhat forgotten movie in more depth but a lot of this discussion is about Hansal Mehta and City Lights
@@dia606Hey Dia. We did discuss the politics of the film. Some parts seem to be redacted. I promise to do another one soon where I promise not to censor myself and ensure the people interviewing me don’t censor themselves too :)
It is just 11 years old movie, how does it qualify for aged movie?
Hitesh sonik is the background music director
As usual...Abbas royally screws up the timeline 😂😂. Is Abbas Flash?😂
wow some of you guys in the comments are wayy tooo invested in a barely research, on the surface, podcast about discussions of hindi films that have been talked about a lot already
Can't believe this guy is Hansal Mehta's son sorry.
His politics is really sad, no guts to talk about whats wrong in society.
What all sides are wrong nonsense was he trying to sell while defending Manav Kauls character? A literal murderer he was!
Honestly so much beating around the bush about religious prejudice and bigotry - what votebank your community is natural ffs, so uneducated
It’s unbelievable- they couldn’t mention even mention Gujarat pogrom, he just deviated to ohh votebank ohh you have to get into politics if you care ohh people don’t watch what rubbish!
@@dia606 Exactly! How much privilege do you have to be in to be this ignorant.
Well, unfortunately some things I feel never made it to the final video. We did speak about the politics of the film. If the host felt putting that out was unnecessary, what can I do?
I’m not afraid to speak my mind. Never am. Never have been. Never will be.
But I don't necessarily think that the conversation rendered itself to an overly political discussion as it is a podcast that discusses a film rather than the politics of the country. I feel Jai was articulate and it was an interesting discussion overall!
Finally a film worth talking about…
@@vazs26😂😂this is not that film bro
In Hello God was played by Katrina
It’s a 2013 movie not 2011
Was it a conscious effort not to mention Sushant and his effort he put in.
The only time he was mentioned when you talked about the cast; and later when you were again mentioning everyone. Even when Jay Mehta was mentioning something about Amit Sadh and Sushant - he said Amit and Ishaan.. like what the hell… he was phenomenal in the movie.. it’s funny you spent so much time practicing Manav Kaul, Amit and Rajkumar but didn’t have 30 second to speak about SSR. It was an uncomfortable watch!!!
@@Ms11911 it’s complicated
Thoda thanda episode tha
Bhai, it's a good thing that Abbas isn't a filmmaker, uska alternate endings hamesha bahut pointless hota hai.
But like the podcast, frequent listener :)
@@kanwarsodhi2969 heheheheh
@@validationkibhooki mere pass bahut saari validation spare rakhi Hai, if you'd like some
urjita own jai 3 movies lol
Pleaseeeeee do YJHD!!!!!
Sooraj Pancholi's childhood friend? No thanks, I'm out.
arey bachpan mein kahan pata hota hai ki toh friend madarchod hai 😅 (and tbh its hard to deal with such situation. aise ekdum se distance bhi kar lena is not normal)
@@validationkibhookiThank you for pointing this out. Appreciate it.
10 minutes in, ye jai mehta thoda creepy/weird lag raha hai ngl
Yeah & looks like Jai is High.. Or May be his persona is like that.. May be not creepy just the way he is.
Disappointing!? I thought he was cool!
I stopped watching the moment he said Sooraj Pancholi's childhood friend.
@@Rumiesque right? i couldnt watch beyond 15 minutes.. and i am a guy who isnt like babil khan or sth..
@@Rumiesque Yeah, but he’s not Pancholi na himself. Leave it be.
