they really just engaged because of the compound pivot so when you roll your ankles and feet, which then moves the knee, which then moves the pelvis up, which then straightens the right leg and then the glute is activated
Roger, you are inspirational with your explanations! I work on my swing every day And sometimes I experiment how to get more swing speed using one of these radar Devices. The highest speeds I can get when I feel I throw my arms back up and then Just relax the arms and hands and swing though. When I try to actively throw my arms more I feel I lock up more and my swing speed is lower?
really love this next series where I add the lower body support of the compound, pivot and show you about the stimulus in the response of the throw and how they have to be coordinated when you do that and you have the correct grip and the correct grip pressure all of this will start to come through like magic wait for the next series. It’ll be probably just a couple of days
@@rkswingking Roger, I am just watching this long drive guy frame by frame he does sort of a abdominal side crunch move to get the club down from the top. Maybe you can reflect on that and explain these type of "secret" moves. Thanks for your great work and sharing Roger!!!
@ I actually do go over that in the compound pivot coming up so that’s cool a lot of long drive guys have a lot more right lateral Ben because they have a lot of thoracic extension and they really use more vertical forces of the ground to get a complete deceleration of the body to have the club really whipped through and to do that you have to have right lateral bend, but that happens when naturally when you do the compound pivot and your head stays levellong drive guys heads do not stay level so it’s harder to time it but they’re only trying to hit Max distance one out of six in the grid
@@rkswingking Right, OK looking forward to your next video to give me ideas. Right now I feel I just can't get the club down in a way that generates real speed. I am in the LPGA speed range ... sadly!
Golf is an interesting sport. You can line up 10 professionals and they will all tell you a different way of doing things. each must practice as roger says to find what works for them.
@@chrisscott558 agreed the hardest part is that most people don’t realize that feel and real are not the same so even when you think you’re doing what I’ve said or another golf pro tells you to do your you’re not doing exactly that sometimes you will, but most times you want and that makes it tough so you come up with some kind of hybrid and if you hit enough golf balls, and work on your short game enough and score you can get down to a reasonable handicap that and a lot of time. That’s the reason why I prefer doing the Zoom lessons one on one so therefore feel and real become the same and I get a chance to see what you’re actually doing
Hi Roger. Do you reject the concept of swing the club back with the right palm facing away from the target? Thats more of a square it early and rotate to tow the club through the zone square concept. Do you say this early squaring and rotate through is slower? I promise you it is more injurious! Hell on the low back.
@@rkswingking What Ive described is pretty close to what a lot of top players are doing on TV. Can you say why you don’t like it? Rory is closer to what you teach but there are a lot of square it at the top and rotate thru players too.
I have studied and tried every method I can teach every method I can play with every method, and I find that the compound pivot with a double pendulum is the easiest on the body and the most powerful for any age. It moves every joint the way it’s supposed to be moved optimally it’s a circle. It’s centrifugal force and it’s all the ground forces that you want.
@@rkswingking that’s a great answer. You teach a freedom and speed action that I want to use but struggle to control probably due to tension and lack of faith. I would like to get there. Under the gun I revert to early close and rotation to try to hit targets. Hard on the body and I do think speed and height suffer too.
Really appreciate the precise details on the backswing. two questions. You mentioned in the past , and watching Mike Austin I believe the shift to the left with the lower half starts the downswing, this seems to be more of the right arm starts and the pivot follows. Or does it matter as long as the timing is correct? 2nd question, does gravity have a place in that transition or do you really feel that you step on the gas to get those arms moving from the start? Thank you
@@arisandrews5672 I love the questions and the comments and guess what the very next video that’ll launch in the next couple of days is gonna go over actually all of that question and the topic so look for that and I will answer those that to me gravity does not have a place in it when you are transitioning and throwingand you’ll see why
I can do it w just my right. Consistently. I can’t get a 9i 120 yds but I can do 75 over and over. My contact w the ground is about 6” to the right of my right foot. Waaaay behind but results are great. How screwed am I?
Love this series Roger and thank you for making the videos and sharing your knowledge!
you are so very welcome thanks for all the support
Excellent explanation

well explained and demonstrated... great video
