"We had 2 Basilisk regiments, 75 Manticore battalions, 5 Griffin batteries, half an Earthquake battalion, and a whole galaxy of light weapons of all varieties and colors, Medusa, as well as Krieg guards, Dark Angels, Grey Knights and 2 dozen titans. Not that we needed all of that for the siege of Vraks, but once you began to gather forces of loyalists to march on the heretics, the tendency is to push it as far as you can... The only thing that really worried me was the Leman Russ tanks. There is nothing more helpless, irresponsible and depraved than head-on tank attacks on well-prepared enemy defenses and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon." - Lord Commander Raoul Duke from the report "Fear and Loathing in the Scarus Sector of the Segmentum Obscurus" 830.M41.
Okay, so the Siege of Vraks is essentially totally unrelated to the Krieg civil war, which if I'm remembering correctly lasted about... 500 years? At which point the last separatists were killed, the loyalists reestablished contact with the Imperium, and immediately set to makimg up for lost time by having 20 fully equipped regiments(somewhere in the ballpark of 20,000 to 400,000 Guardsmen depending on the precise nature of the regiment) requesting to be sent to the most hellish warzones imaginable so that they could fight and give their lives in service to the Emperor, because after metaphorically nuking their planet back to the Stone Age, engaging in 500 years of bloody trench warfare and tunnel fighting on a radioactive dustball, quashing a rebellion and sending tens of thousands of young men into the blender, and continuing to do so well into the 42nd Millennium, the people of Krieg STILL think they need to give more of themselves. The Siege of Vraks, however, was a 17-year long insurrection carried out by one Cardinal Xaphan, an Ecclesiarchy official with a bit too much ambition that had survived an attempt on his life by the Inquisition and the Officio Assassinorum and was forced to try and sue for peace by hunkering down on Vraks, an Imperial Armory World, and hoping to the God-Emperor he could hold the Imperial war machine at bay long enough to talk his way out of it. Instead he experienced over a decade of war against the Death Korps of Krieg who'd been called in to deal with the insurrectionists, the machinations of Chaos cultists, and a plot to turn Vraks into a Daemon World. So all in all, just another footnote in the history of the Imperium.
Another thing about Krieg is that they churn out Guardsmen a little to quickly with the help of Vitaewombs and that both the Mechanicus and Inquisition are like: Ok. That´s a thing. Let´s keep an eye or two on that one.
@@spaceviking2425 I thought the minituram gave them Vitaewombs because they were such trustable fanatics? Same with them being able to use combined arms warfare, something even the Cadians couldn't be trusted with due to the possibility of corruption.
@@cheeseninja1115 As far as i know the only source for this version is Arch. So without a second source on that i go with the Wiki version. Also they allow Mutations within a certain degree (that´s why the Inquisition is a bit miffed) and Mechanicus just HATE the Vitaewomb shit.
One reason they are allowed the wombs is due to their high death rate and the fact that not a single Krieg guardsman has fallen to chaos. They will have no problem sacrificing their lives and doing what they are order to do which makes any commander happy to have such a dedicated force. But if it wasn’t for the cloning they would most likely run out of soldiers to supply.
My Man, you did even better understand this Epic Start of the Masterpiece Series then Chapter Master Valrak! Its really good to see a Fan and Reactor really appreciate this Work. I am sooooooooo triggered about the next Parts and i seriously hope GW dont fuck it up.
The longer it lasted, the crazier it got xP (A bit of a spoiler) I especialy liked the suprised pikachu moment near the end when Imperial titan legion realized "that big fucking beam still works!"
Just as a heads up, The nuking of Kreig was a bit different than what you were saying. The nobility did not turn to chaos, they just got greedy and felt that since their planet was so well managed and maintained they didn’t see a reason to have to give away the mass majority of their resources to other planets. They decided that they would separate from the imperium and keep all the resources for their planet alone. Most of the lords of the planet agreed and had set up units to overthrow the current imperial forces garrisoned on the planet. The guy that nukes everything found out about the traitors and stopped the lord of his hive before he could overthrow it. He had the majority of people go under ground and waited till the enemy lord forces arrived in the hive city and then set off all the nukes irradiating the planet all at once. He never got permission from the Imperium to do this, he just did it as a way to punish the lords for their treason.
GW: how dare you make something that fans love and gets people to want to play our game. We make our own content that is vastly inferior and your showing us up that you can do this on your own while we have millions of dollars but can’t.
Agreed, where you can like or hate him, his are the best videos on Vraks and Krieg, and his early stuff is basically THE best lore besides maybe Lutin.

Remember, kreig doesn't raise regiments, krieg raises armies.

I wouldnt mind an audiobook off the siege of vraks, narrated by Chill zone

Janovich use the unreal engine for his animation
North Korea : Quick. Write this down.
What we see is not the might of the Death Korps, that's GW prepping it's legal team to shut down the animator's channel.
