The nr 1 mistake to make right now is too assume Red Bull isn't dominant anymore...come on, there was one race where Max didnt get 1 but got second. I say...hold your horses 😁.
And the whole weekend Verstappen wasn't happy with the car, even at moments when he actually was fastest. It felt a bit like Singapore last year, just not quite that bad.
It sure will be interesting to see the effect of all the upgrades, but one race won't show it all indeed.
And if it wasnt for the SC he would have won anyway
technically 2.
Things have to get spiced up somehow in F1 as it's been a borefest for a few years now.

I think I became an f1 fan at just the right time. Well, would have been sick to have experienced 2021, but I'll take all the drama going on rn.
First half of 2022 was brilliant. But after TD039 (which ruined Ferraris car, like they needed help shooting themselves in the foot) in Spa, it was just a 2023 prolouge.
If Ferraris upgrades are good, it will be a carbon copy of 2010 (minus HRT, Virgin and Lotus). Ferrari, McLaren and RB incredibly close fighting for wins, with a Mercedes and Renault/AM fighting for P4 behind

If the gap to Red Bull does close up I can see Checo feeling the pressure again and start making mistakes and not being the driver to back Max up or pick up the pieces. In other words he'll be a bit exposed.
That being said. There are some drivers who on normal circumstances are underwhelming but suddenly briliant under pressure
We are already there imo.
@@hectornecromancer5308 Yep true - but Checo isn't one of those drivers.
I mean he has been exposed for the past years
Much as I like Checo - he's a favorite of mine - the psychological environment at RB works against him.
Ideally, I'd like to see him at a team that's less of a pressure cooker, and Carlos in his seat at RB (Alonso would have been my favorite candidate, but that's not happening).
Sam Collins is my favorite talking head on the F1TV service. I will never tire of him saying "Sticky uppy bits." I also really enjoyed Ruth Bascombe at the last race explaining things from a strategist POV. I especially liked when Ruth would correct the other commentators for their ignorant takes. It's great to finally have someone in the booth that actually knows modern racing. I really hope Ruth and Sam stick around.
I remember a year or so stumbling across comment by somebody about how annoying they found Sam how much they hated the phrase, “sticky uppy bits” and I was totally bemused. Sam has such a great depth of knowledge, such obvious passion, and does an incredibly good job presenting engineering concepts to a wider audience. I think he was fantastic.
I thought Ruth was a great addition as well. Having somebody with real experience as a strategist brings a great perspective to the commentary.
I miss him at the race when they were nismo tv on Super GT Races so much insight and passion for motorsport in general from him

I think next year it's going to be really close and then 2026 comes and we will have 1.5s gap between first and second.
Truth. This quick change to a new rule regime is stupid. Let the knowledge gap between the teams close and the racing will get tighter. F1 is run by idiots.
We will likely see one power unit manufacturer dominate the first four to six years of the new engine refs because they got it right and everyone else is catching up. (Which is why Max probably leaves RB after 2025.)
Power units that are designed by marketing fools and not engineers. Wheels that are far too large and too heavy. Cars that are far too large and too heavy. And changing rules before half of the teams even figured out the last set of rules.

Unfortunately, there’s no recent content, but his playlists on “F1 technical stuff” and “F1 explained” are absolutely fantastic - he basically answers all the questions that newcomers trying to understand the sport generally ask (though it is worth remembering that, as the videos age, things related to rules might no longer be current)

This is Max's year, but all this catchup game seems like in 2025 we will get a 3 way constructor championship battle
Last year was Max's year. I still think he'll win WDC, but it wont be the outright stomp that it was last year. Unless they did something to the car to make it better for Singapore, he's got at least another loss in him this year.
2025 is Max's. 2026 is a reset with the new car regs so that will be interesting.
@@meikgeik😂 ofc 2024 won’t be like 2023 domination…EVERYONE knows that, that’s no news.
And you don’t have to win all races to become WC, as Max always says. Horner has said from race 1 this season that it’s important to get as much points as possible at the start of the season…cos throughout the season the teams will all get closer. RBR expects other teams to get closer, that’s why Max’ current gap is 👌🏻
@@Redlingstein If Max's mechanics hadn't stuffed up his brakes in Australia, he'd most likely have won that race and he'd be 5/6 wins so far with a "bad" second place in Miami. It was another Singapore where he couldn't get the tyres to work, plus let's not forget he lost out with the SC. He's going to be almost as dominant this season as he was last year.
Your drama recaps are excellent, sir (as are your videos overall).

Btw... there's another track that traded in its tarmac run offs for gravel traps. My home Circuit in India. It's on the MotoGP calendar now. Time for F1 to make a triumphant return 😁 And yeah, with what we've seen from Ferrari over the winter, you have to put your money on them definitely making good progress with this SF-24 Evo. It's getting exciting folks. 3 team battle for Grand Prix victories from here on in please!
Great video keep it up you're doing amazing things 😁👍
Max was over a second a lap faster than anyone else during the sprint in China... I think we should be waiting until 2025 before we talk about anyone challenging Red Bull.
I appreciate non AI clickbait F1 channels
THE TOTO IMPRESSION WAS ON POINT 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
19 year olds are absolutely NOT adults this day in age. They are very much still children
I'm with you it's good to see more gravel again and less run off. All those drivers saying that it's so difficult to stay on the track would suddenly find it much easier to do so if there was gravel on every corner.
Diminishing returns are real, but they don't only affect Red Bull. I doubt anyone would complain if we have more winners during the season - but it has to come from a point of passion for the sport, and not a dislike for one or two teams. A surprise win can only be called a moment of change or a fluke further down the season. We've had 2 examples of Hamilton and Danny, where they were superheroes on Saturday and nowhere to be found on Sunday.
While the agenda is confusing, it does mix up the types of tracks. Instead of having 4 street tracks after one another, it's all mixed up. I believe that each track has its own philosophy and characteristic that resembles other tracks, but not all tracks. With McLaren having done well in the race (let's ignore the sprint for a second), it would be interesting to see how they perform on similar tracks. Because, Red Bull's car of last year, was performing well on any track. There were a few where they won the race, but balance wasn't 100% - just like at Miami this year.
Maybe Newey is the God of car design and they knew that they were on the limit of the previous design. With other teams using the previous season's design, maybe they'll hit the same wall this year.
Either way - results count, you can't predict the future on 1 win, and I wish these teams did more on positive marketing than the current strategy. When you have team bosses arguing on stage and one-upping themselves ... what do you think that will do to fanatical fans? We know how the British fans reacted at Silverstone. We know how some people will get upset. I don't think it's a good thing to promote.
I dont think you've thought about what it would mean to have Variante Bassa back-zero overtaking.
Xavi being moved on is a disaster for Ferrari slander memes.
lol yeah, but probably better for the team.
Fiorano also features different track surfaces due to its age, Bumpy and smooth so good knowledge for Ferrari

This is my first season watching F1, and I assumed I was just going to see Max win every race from what I had heard from friends, so I am very happy with how the season seems to be panning out… I’m very excited for Imola too, since I chose to be a Ferrari fan simply because I am Italian before knowing anything about the sport 😅
Carlos: did you say.. *gravel?*
And since this morning we know that RB turned down the engine in Miami because of problems with cooling the breaks. RB was not allowed to repair that (par fermé). Max was 0.35 sec slower because of that…
I'm glad I'm in the US and would have to actively seek out this drama to keep abreast with it. How incredibly draining it all seems. I watch the races, I see racers race. It's enough for me. But here I am.
12:44 You guys need to watch the WEC Practices and Race. Pure Rally action.
Let's wait and see. It was a sprint weekend, RB had problems finding the right set up it seems. Max had floor damage cause his mistake and Lando had a bit of luck with being ahead of the Safety Car. Yes, win was well deserved, but let's have a few races on regular tracks before writing off RB and Max
I think you're a bit ahead of yourself there mate. The McLaren upgrades were able to keep up with a damaged RB and the Mexican Minister of Disgrace. They're still not quite there yet
I would like to see what Lando can do in that car at a track he's proven to be mighty at. Also, Oscar in the full car.
The lap times stayed the same after the Billard, plus Max who’s usually very vocal didn’t talk about damage and his cars performance being affected
@@Abcdefg-rk8jkmate was just happy being second
Well I think Oscar kept up with him before his car got damaged (correct me if I'm wrong coz genuinely I'm not sure
Lando was on Max's level even before the small incident
Then Max pulls a pole qualifying with a 0.5s gap to second place
I am a RB fan, as a Ferrari, MCL and Sauber fan...but I don't think this is in any way news. RB themselves have been saying since 23 that things will converge this and next season with the opposition catching up. The real surprise is why Mercedes isn't the leading team doing the catching (but your vid on this explains it really well).
I think the closing up the grid is exciting, but the real technical race is not all about 2026.
Charles vs Max vs Fernando for the title in 25
The English hopium of Red Bull falling apart is reinvigerated as it seems. This all on the basis of one sprint GP weekend where Max won both qualifying sessions and the sprint. He got second in the race due to the safetycar deployment.
The powerslide Max does in every last corner when victorious. This he is doing since he is not alowed anymore to make a burnout on the finishline.
Red Bull brings upgrades also to Imola if I'm not mistaken. Newey did design the suspension for the RB18 and redid that for the RB19. The RB20 is a simular car to the RB19 by suspension design. So less influence of Newey is normal. The new cars of 2026 are very simular to this generation so it can be build wit the lessons learned off the modern grouneffect era.
I don't mind Max and Red Bull winning. In fact if they could still hold off Ferrari and McLaren after their challenge it would be all the more remarkable. Dominance and success are two different things.

Most Brits are consuming F1 'news' presented by british outlets. It's a quite one-sided affair I'm afraid off.
This is why I'm excited to the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix and beyond, we've seen the competition from Ferrari & McLaren on Red Bull, and from what we have seen in Australia & Miami, it could probably happen again
Australia was an anomaly due to the brake error by the mechanics and the RedBull wasn't really firing all weekend in Miami. It's still Max's season.
RBR haven’t brought any updates yet… 🤭 they will come with stuff too. So funny how ppl assume RBR to stand still and wait for others to get to them lol
I don't think it is surprising Red Bull Max Verstappen racing team is going to be torn apart. The same greed that fuels the team itself also fuels those with a skill to sell.
Blablabla another foolish hater who believes all hate content 😂😂😂 keep crying while Max and RBR keep winning
i think that Red Bull will dominate the races but they fall from inside out by the management and once that will happen likes of Mclaren , Ferrari and Mercedes possibly Alonso Martin will be in contested in WDC and Constructors
The shallow gravel traps seen at e.g. Spa are not primarily for F1 or cars in general, but for motorcycling. So maybe these runoff changes at Imola is more about FIM safety licensing than FIA safety licensing.
Think people might be getting a little bit carried away. Mclaren did same thing last year. Had a spike in speed then dropped off.
I like Mclarens upgrade style. Shows a confidence in the concept and the plan.
I’m a Max fan (1-Carlos, 2-Max) but I’m also finding this new trend exciting. Relentless domination is a little boring and I think Max would like to fight a bit more for the win. I would like to see more close racing at the front regardless of who wins. We can’t rely on Kevin to keep things spicy since he needs to avoid further penalties now to prevent a race ban. I have ADHD and I actually fell asleep during some GPs last year but not recently. Even the sprints I was yelling at the screen for a bit.
I was today years old when I discovered MasakoX has an F1 channel
McLaren will be a force to recon with for the rest of the season. This makes me happy.
But I do think Fred is mistaken. Alpine and Williams definitely haven’t reached the the peak of the rules

It’s not about the car, it’s about the team, the race strategies are just below any standards. Race engineers don’t answer to the drivers questions….plan B….plan C…plan D. It’s like a five star hotel but the staff is not in that level.
Whole milk is best milk!
A few weeks back I was saying how I'm not a fan of the massive rule changes every few years, as it can be bad for competition, and I think we're about to see why. Red Bull managed to find the formula for the new rules that put them ahead, and it's taken time for other teams to catch up, but we're now seeing potential signs of that.
Obviously, as a content creator, you are always looking for things to talk about to get people interested and excited - and it is of course inevitable that at some point the Verstappen/RB domination will end - but I'm not about to say after one race where Max is beaten that we are seeing that. There is potential though, and the other teams are improving, and I think next season has the potential to be a good battle between two or three teams for the titles, just as we saw in 2021 with RB and Mercedes
And then come the 2026 rule changes, where the development cycle resets and that convergence is wiped out, just as we were getting back to a degree of equality and competition at the front. In theory, the rule changes mean teams all begin from the same starting point again, but as we saw with Mercedes and their era, and then RB in this era, one team can potentially jump ahead again and the whole cycle repeats until the next set of rule changes.
I think it's a bad thing, but that's just me.
Whatever happens in RB, I am looking forward to see everything implode in Maranello next year, despite all the spending.
What race is the next McLaren upgrade package predicted to arrive again?
Adrian was semi retired and they have great aero team for ages now. No bother guys. The issue is convergence. When convergence happens F1 decided to change the rules again!! STUPID IF YOU ASK ME. We will never going to have a 2,3,4 teams fighting for the wins. Sad but true.
