Thank you for another brilliant review! It's so good that you review bargain price watches! Your reviews are succinct, factual and with great attention to visual detail. I much prefer your video style where you concentrate on the watch itself, rather than video your face and hands. Well done!
Thanks again for your support mate. I love the budget watches, especially when you get a bang for buck bargain. I probably won't be doing Rolex reviews for a long while yet
Just bought one of these to use as a beater work watch. I think it will handle that job quite well while still retaining a decent look. Looking forward to seeing how it is in person.
I got the Hulk version on a jubilee bracelet for £58. No QC issues that I can identify. Bezel action is good, crown popping a little stiff. The jubilee bracelet is better as you expect some play in that style of bracelet. The lume is amazing. I agree about the logo, its not the best, but it is well applied. All in all its great value for money and most people probably can't tell its a homage from more than 6 feet away.
Sounds like most of our experiences were similar. That crown operation is probably my chief complaint but given the price and the quality of the rest of the watch I can live with it.
Picked up the Hulk for $78 from AE. It's in the mail, it'll be interesting to see how it fares. Really enjoyed your review, best I've seen. Succinct, concise, keep up the good work.
Good evening, I purchased this watch on Saturday. I paid £53, including delivery to the uk. I , probably like others, would like a Rolex no chance in the UK at the moment. I’ve got a Tudor Pelagos 39, which is a lovely watch. For £53 as long as it tells the time I’ll be happy. Thank you for your video. Ged
I bought an SD1953 with the tourquoise dial last month for $51. This watch is an incredible value, and the dial is stunning. While the tourquoise dial somewhat reduces the readability, the white logo and text virtually disappear from a foot away. Mine has the Version 2, milled clasp, w/6 micro adjustment holes. The V3 clasp that's just being introduced is a glidelock-style, but I can't complain for what I paid. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase, but I'd say the SD1970 is a tad more comfortable to wear, despite measuring larger. The extra 100m of water resistance is what makes this a comparatively heavy watch.
I did see the Turquoise dial come up recently on AliX, and still at a reasonable price. I would like to get my hands on a recent model with the glidelock and see how it performs.
I’ve had the grey version of this watch for about three weeks and it is very accurate. I agree with many of your comments. I swapped the jubilee bracelet for a NATO strap and it is very comfortable. The jubilee was fairly flimsy. I do have difficulty screwing in the crown sometimes. But overall very good value watch.
I did see the grey dial pop up fairly recently during the sales and i like the look of it. Great choice to go NATO. Now you’ll have a smorgasbord of straps to choose from.
i have a 1953 variant with the date between 4 and 5 o'clock , it was 2 minutes slow but i adjusted it and now it is 8 seconds fast , i had it for 3 years and for the money you cannot get a better quality for the price , i paid $140 can 3 yaers ago and i just got another turquoise 1953 for 76$ canadian 3 years later so i am very satisfied with these watches , better than pagani design and invicta that i also own but these the lume is very bad so for the best buck and quality overall the steeldive watches are amazing!
Agreed. I do like the Pagani watches but like you said the lume usually leaves a lot to be desired. Steeldive are really nailing it at their price point.
Hi. The cyclops is the same magnification as a Rolex, but the Rehaught ring is thicker which makes the lens further away from the date, thus giving it a higher magnification. All the best👍🏾😉🇬🇧
@@mtbbiker6401Other folks on UA-cam have successfully removed the cyclops from the crystal but I don’t know exactly how they did it. My older eyes appreciate it. 😂
Mine is running extremely fast- plus 25 minutes over 4 hours, so returning and getting a replacement. Lovely watch though. Got 2 other Steeldives, white and green 1970, great watches.
Yeah running 2.5 hours fast a day is insane. Hope their customer service and refund process goes smooth for you. Oh now that you mention the 1970 I’m very tempted to get one now they’re under $90 AUD
I am waiting on delivery of one, cost me NZ$115 all up ( about US$70), everything points to it being a pretty good watch for that money, but I will pop back and let you know when it arrives!
Cheers mate. Funny you mention that. I'm looking at San Martin as one of my next purchases to see how they stack up. From what I've heard from others, the San Martin has a much better bracelet and bezel action and is overall nicer than the SteelDive but not nice enough to justify the higher price. One of these days I'll find out for myself.
I'm very happy with mine but, when side by side with even a slightly better watch you notice the differences quickly. As most reviews state, great watch for the money!
I've had mine for almost a year and it has been wonderful. I suspect all steel dives are good value for the money. I say that because I have the 1970 Steel Dive Williard. and that is equally as good a watch. The Steeldive 1970 is famous for its loom and is the only watch I have in my collection that will stay lit a full 8 hours after being charged with a UV light before retiring. My Seiko's are wonderful but they die somewhere in the 6th hour of darkness making the 1970 the grand winner in my collection. The lume on my 1953 can still be read at the end of 5 hours and that is quite good for an inexpensive watch.
Agreed. I actually had an SD1970 for a bit before selling it. The lume on it was nuclear! If I ever get time and a bit of spare coin I might grab another one on sale and put it up against my Seiko for fun. You're not wrong either about the 1953. Lume may not be quite as good as Seiko but for a watch at around $100 it still punches well above its weight.
Hey mate. It's an AliExpress strap from the Juelong store: www.aliexpress.com/item/4001095178314.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.16.62d71802Soepk1
Have you had any issues with the water resistance? Water resistance is the primary concern I have when it comes to purchasing a watch from a chinese microbrand.
I haven't had any bad experiences with water resistance when getting Chinese watches wet. That being said my testing is pretty light. I usually just give it a generous splash of water or, at worst, immerse it in foot-deep water for 20--30 minutes. Funny you say this, as somebody else commented on my PD 'Moonswatch' review stating they had done actual water resistance testing with those watches (3 of them, up to 9 bar). It sounds like they held up OK but it was mentioned two of them were very stiff, and a 3rd was found to have some glue substance on one of the o-rings.
I've since moved my SD1953 on so can't recall exactly, but if I was asked to make a bet on it, from what I remember they were printed I think. Anyone else that owns one want to jump in?
Lamentablemente estan viniendo con problemas de control de calidad segun comentarios que leí en reseñas de videos.... Y son varios.... De momento Addiesdive es el que me da mas confianza...sabes algo de eso????

One thing I did wearing mine that I'd suggest others don't do is wear it and visit your local AD. Security gives you long look like you'll ask to try on a real AD Submariner Date and swap out your SD1953 as in NZ we've had quite a few jewellery store heists so ADs for real Rolex are nervous seeing homages.
@@troppotime9179 Not sure if you could pull off a switcheroo with a Steeldive, but maybe with a Steinhart. Would be quite a heist to swap a $500 Steinhart with a $10,000 Submariner. 😬
Oh céus. Você pode ter recebido um onde não fizeram um bom Controle de Qualidade no lume. Em outro SteelDive (SD), recebi que suas mãos não estavam iluminadas o suficiente. Tenho outro SD chegando, então veremos como vai.
You do the reviews without a hyperbaric chamber? Not much of a review for a diver’s watch: the most important things were the water resistance and the (absence) of a wetsuit stretch… so, you disgraced the watch recommending it just for swimming??? I put it in the hyperbaric chamber up to 60m/6bars and also tortured it with rapid ascents and descents for a while and it gave no problems at all. In real life, I used it at a depth of around 30m (3bar), had months of showers, swimming, with the same results. Unfortunately, they did not put an extension for wearing it on diving suits, so I had to change the clasp… I really recommend this watch.
Superb value ! Owned one for 8 months ( from Amazon) it’s been through some real rough and wet conditions. Keeps great time. The lume is incredible! 👍
Great thing about those Submariner dial types is that they look great in the rough and can still just pull off a dressy look with the right strap.
@@troppotime9179 No need to change the strap. The bracelet is easily unpinned and adjusted. Awesome watch!
