I've studied the philosophy of this in my philosophy degree and in my animal behaviour degree. I personally don't agree with these animals being used for entertainment. However, these one were not taken from the wild, their minds need to be kept stimulated because they're so intelligent, and these elephants and looked after - and showing them off encourages people to love them and enjoy seeing them; thus encouraging people to donate to conservation works.
They have a breeding programme????? What for??? The 'guide' has a hook and those 'tricks' are not exactly what a wild a elephant does...What exactly does this teach the kids? That it's ok to force elephants to 'perform' for the amusement of humans? Not my idea of conservation!
@hunterawood I agree Deborah. WHy use the bullhook if your being kind to the very beautiful animal. She is a lovely elephant as are all animals. People dont really know how to treat them. Some do their best but in fairness they would be happier in the wild, after a little adapting. Peace and love to Elephants. No Bullhooks!!!

Anytime I get anxious I just pictures one of these girls walking in front of me and they guide my way.
