- OK. I am getting some complaints (if you can believe that) that the lyrics aren't appearing on mobile devices. The lyrics aren't automatically generated. I listened to the song over and over and over until I thought I heard them correctly, and then added them to the video.
Here they are in text form. Hope you enjoy the song even more knowing the lyrics, as I do:

Evel Knievel. Song is 'Ridin the Wind' by Michael Stanton. I hope I've got the lyrics right. I couldn't find a soundtrack anywhere so I did a little editing. I saw the original Evel Knievel movie (with George Hamilton) 3 times at the downtown Baton Rouge theater, twice on the opening night, and I had to go see it again on the second night. I wasn't of driving age, so my mom took my cousin and me to the theater both nights. We rode our dirt bikes and dreamed of making big jumps for a week after that. Years later I paid BIG money to watch the Snake River Canyon jump LIVE on closed circuit TV at the Independence Hall in Baton Rouge. Evel was truly an original.

I first heard it like I think most of us did.. in Evel Knievel’s Greatest Hits VHS 📼. I was 9 or 10 years old and loved the song but of course had no idea what it meant then.

the Toronto jump across all those trucks is my favorite of all..that was some serious distance he had to cover and had some serious altitude and hang-time...
YES! Evel nailed this jump! He was under tremendous pressure, ABC & promoters of Canyon Jump didn't want him to perform this jump because it was so close to the Snake River event, and they had all the money spent hyping it up. Had Evel gotten crashed it would have blown that event timeline, But Evel Needed the money bad- made big bucks for this jump and he was strapped for cash with Bob Truex still being owed money for X2 Skycycle development at the time. Evel was such a Bad-Ass.

Lyrics are present when viewed on a PC. I don't know why they don't show up when viewed on a phone.

I got my Android phone to display the CC by tapping the '...' at the top right of the screen (within the UA-cam app). Then tap CAPTIONS. Then I tapped ENGLISH. Then the captions started appearing. An iPhone UA-cam app may be different. I've never had one.
