NEWS2 - National Early Warning Score 2
NEWS2 is a tool that uses the value of the patients' vitals signs (and LOC) to calculate a score. The higher the score, the more likely the patient is to potentially deteriorate.

Oof, and those are the bad IV's! But excellent step by step. I understand that a lot of site selection is gonna be experienced based, but I'd say that a nurse shouldn't be afraid to grab an oddball site for blood draws or an IV. Hell, I once pulled five vials from an ankle!

Hi, Yes. The human rights code of Canada is inclusive of that. Schools will give you accommodations for any physical disabilities in your program to be successful as a nurse.

Hello. What province are you thinking of? Each province has a different nursing regulatory body. For example, if you are in Ontario, you should visit the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). They list all the approved colleges RPN programs that you can enroll in.

Hi, yes you can apply to study nursing as an international student. Please visit the school's website for more info. The fees are different (usually higher) and your expenses will be higher too for rent, books, tuition, etc.

Usually, the route is international student( student Visa )--> then you need to pass the board exam CRPNE --> find an employer or a health region that can give you a full-time job so that you can process to get your permanent residents

Can I apply as an RPN in CANADA even if I got my BSN degree in the Philippines? I had 11 yrs of experience as nurse and passed NCLEX as well.
Hi, Yes you can Apply. However, you must first submit your credential from the Philippines and the Colleges will assess what courses you need to supplement. I would recommend you consider an IEPN - Internationally Educated Practical Nursing stream instead of the regular PN - Practical Nursing stream. Both programs are 90% similar, but the regular PN program spends more time on foundation skills - since they do not have previous nursing experience. Hi Sahria, Yes you can apply. If you are interested in the RPN program, it usually is 4 semesters. I would recommend you visit some college's websites to get a sense of how to apply and what the tuition is now (2021). Please note that as an RPN you will graduate with a diploma, not a degree.

To become an RPN would you have to do practical nursing first? or are there just specifically RPN programs. I can't seem to find a direct answer.
Hi, to become an RPN you must do a practical nursing program first. the "R" or RPN means Registered, which will happen after you pass the national license exam. The practical nursing programs at Colleges are intended to get you ready to become "Registered" and officially become a nurse.
Annnnd...I bled into 700$ worth of Cloplixol on my first go. Cloplixol has the consistency of molasses.
