  • Dr. Leonid S. Metelitsa of Texas Children's Cancer Center and Baylor College of Medicine speaks on the role of natural killer T cells (NKT) in immunotherapy of neuroblastoma at the 4th International Conference on Immunotherapy in Pediatric Oncology (CIPO2015), hosted by Seattle Children’s Research Institute.
Dr. Metelitsa discusses how NKT cells can localize to the tumor site and mediate anti-tumor activity via killing or reprogramming of tumor-associated macrophages. He also describes how NKT cells can be grafted with an additional anti-tumor specificity via expression of a chimeric antigen receptor to enable dual targeting of tumor cells and tumor-supportive machrophages.
