I've bought many IKEA products over the years and have never had issues until I got these shades!!! I was confused on the installation until I viewed your video! Thanks so much!
Omg I just found this video literally 5:00 in the morning and I'm watching it when suddenly I'm like 🤦♀️......those are the ones❗❗❗ that's the ones I need to install in my home I can't believe it I finally found my blinds I just hope that Ikea still carries them in the store or online thank you for this video you literally saved my life or my windows life😉
OH MY GOD THANK YOU COURTENEY COX I COULDNT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT U, the velcro tip saved me
Hahahs
Dont know if its been said, but if you mount them upside down you dont have to worry about hanging them open.
Great idea
Very helpful video. Thank you for showing me how to clean my pool
LMFAO
The clip things are supposed to be used to hold the blind up. So you bunch as many folds into the clip as you want depending on how high you want the blind. Good video though as I only worked that out from watching this video, despite you not mentioning it here.
So, how do you keep the blinds up?
Did you ever figure it out? 😭
Okay! If you use ur logic. U can come up w/ multiple solutions. Use magnetic, pls. same color; velcro dots; 6 fishing lines as usual blinds. You can cover the lines using clear rubbers and hanging from a small hook; hair clips, large paper clip (Metal ones are too heavy for the glue). If none of this work for you. Replay bk to me. I sit down and think. Cause Im too busy right now. Carla, I hope I help. Take care ❤.

Hair clips ;-)
Looks like the size of my porch window... what is the width and height .... thank you. Good video
Hi Kim, where you put the curtains and how you keep the blinds up. I like the sun inside my home.
There are clips that come in the package to clip them up :)
very helpfull video, I love Ikea stuffs because they're so easy to put togheter :)
Totally!! And so cute and cheap!!!
I was sent here from a redishade video. I stayed because you're gorgeous. This was very helpful. Thanks
THANKS for this video!!
thanks. but how do you pull it up and make it stay ?
Same question
same question
I have an answer for you guys. While your at IKEA also buy a product called TORKIS clothespins. This will give you enough materiel to open these blinds at any height you prefer for approximately 10 windows and it also includes a nice storage solution. Only downside is that it will up the cost with 0,25 dollar per window. Kim thank you for your wonderful and thural explanation.
The clamps the she puts on the bottom. You lift up the blinds and add the pleats into the clamp.
The clamps can only hold a small amount of folds. It's impossible to hold the whole blind open with the clamps that Ikea provides. I've had to use clothes pegs.
Came here to look if the blinds are decent, ending up getting a youtube crush ;)
+Harm Smit awe 👩🏻
Harm Smit No kidding, me too. Lord she's hot!!
As a straight woman, after watching this, I sighed & proceed to look for workout videos.
Same lol
That husky voice though
This is probably one of your random videos, i checked your channel out and its mostly crime cases content. Anyway nice work and you are very pretty.
Purchased these recently for my home office, thanks for the tutorial, really clear!
Thanks. And good luck
love your calm narration
Hi. Can those blinds work when sticked to a vertical face of the frame? I need a kind of blinds to stick to each door leaf of a conservatory.
Love the blinds but hate the clips that came with them. Can I buy similar clips on another site? Thanks for info....btw your video is great.
This video was so helpful for my mom
I’m so glad I googled IKEA blinds right now 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪😋😋😋😋😋
Hahaha me too
Nigella Lawson of DIY
Would these blinds work in a bathroom? Is the paper durable to with stand moisture?
Thank you! I'm in love with this blinds. Wish I had know them earlier so I could have saved some money.
+Kim Na Na they're awesome! We have them in black too! All over the house
+Kimbyrleigha but how do you clean them?
I just buy new ones they are so cheap
+Kimbyrleigha oh okay :) yeah you're right.
But I dust them too.
Thank you for explaining.
did you figure it out how to pull the blinds all the way up? I'm thinking to buy maybe some hooks to hold them up...idk though. I would love if they could be all the way up through the day! other than that I love my $2.99 blinds :)
+uzaczek Yes! I bought the ones from amazon and they come with clips! So easy to use, you just fold the blinds and clip at the length you want! You could also just use the ikea version and a tiny clip of some kind as well :) I love these things! They look so expensive from the outside too.
+Kimbyr Leigha would you mind sending me link to the ones you're talking about? I have Ikea in my city so i can go and pick it up any time !!!
Sure! I think it's below but here it is :) amzn.to/1Xlp0gP They work just the same!
Here's the ikea: goo.gl/a9e7xg
What method do you use to keep them up and bring sunlight in? Or are they meant to be always down?
That's what I've been trying to know..
There are clips but they don't keep the whole thing up
Thanks for the help!
Have you tried the hoppvals ones. Will you come and fit them too!!!
hhhah no I have not, just these, I still have the black ones up.
+Kimbyrleigha well you can just try them out and fit them here
Can the blind reach all the way down on it's own or does it require the adhesive pads to kind of force them to stay closed?
Must have the adhesive
And the best thing about this installation was that no-one was brutally murdered at the scene. ;)
I live in a rented room and I probably need to remove them when I move out.
I was thinking of putting one or two lines of masking tape onto the window frame and then sticking the blinds onto the line of tape.
Do you think this will stay in place andI can remove them easily when i move out? :/
(They renewed the entire house including the windows last year so I really dont want to get into trouble by removing paint when trying to remove the sticky parts of the blinds.)
I don’t think the adhesive is strong enough to pull off anything except the actual blinds, the adhesive that’s being used is really not any kind of like industrial strength that would be very easy to peel off you could try it somewhere else and see what happens but I honestly don’t think it’s going to pull off paint because I’ve used them many times in a very old apartment at the time and it didn’t.
I do have those blinds. they are already put on my windows. my question was if you know the way to clip them on top so they open up entire window:)
+uzaczek I already answered in that... the amazon ones have clips and you fold them and clip them at the length you want. The ikea ones come with those flimsy clips which don't work. Then, I said you could get small clips like the amazon ones so I posted that link so you can get an idea :)
+uzaczek I should post a photo on my blog :)
great, response... :-)
Clothes pegs are what I use
@@Kimbyrleigha that link didn't work...can you provide it again, maybe?
Thx! Subd! I bought the grey blind. they are pretty good value. The grey one is blackout too.
$6.50
Thanks for the informative but yet short video and not your typical 10 minute UA-cam'r video.
I think I'm gonna buy them in black tomorrow to darken my bedroom a bit. I thought about getting Tupplur but I don't want to have to fill up the holes in my wall when I move out, haha.
DIY skills, great voice and the face of an ANGEL. 3x threat right there!
3:38 body correction lol
No I was squeezing the blinds and moving. But ok:)
U just saved me! ❤❤
Can I stick it to the upper wall (or ceiling!) or should it be sticked only to the window frame??
+MonaLisa Smile I'd say frame, but youll know best
Thanks!!! IKEA instructions can be a challenge. Great tip with Velcro adhesive
Very timely post.. Still not sure about 'holding in the right hand' (looked like a sleight of hand magic trick in the video), but Im sure Ill work it out when I do this in a couple of nights time.. ps love the way you work the camera! ;-)
+Tom Chapman haha it does look like that doesn't it. I was using my OLD lighting, With my new lighting and zoom on my camera you would see what I mean, if the blinds are the other way, the sticky part won't fold UP it will be hanging underneath, I have put it on that way and had to take the whole thing off. Although, I will say it still stuck after I removed and reapplied it!! hahah I work the camera as much as I can hahah thank you.
+Kimbyr Leigha Oh ok, gosh thanks for this.. I would NEVER have worked it all out from those IKEA instructions..! Ill let ya know how I go when I put them up tonight.. Feeling confident and Ill work my own camera in your honour. ;-)
Awe, well I am glad I could help. Next I am installing some ceiling rods. I just had to get a ladder for that. Took me some time, so check back in a few weeks to see that, it's also Ikea and they work so well.
how easy are they to trim i have a bay window with one large window and two smaller windows and would need 3 blinds trimmed to fit
+Lauren Mary very easy!
Very nice guide.
Pretty useful video, I was confused looking at the product instructions
Just about to fit these and looked at the instructions that made no sense so went straight to UA-cam.... Going to email this link to ikea so they can print this link onto the instructions instead of the pictures haha 😂
Haha!
your voice is beautiful and nice to listen to, nice video
+yew soon fatt Thanks so much! I am going to be doing a series of lifestyle "how to" video voice over style like this in the next few weeks and I like getting feedback like this.
Why not narrate directly as you shoot the video, wouldn't it be easier than dubbing it in post?
Kimbyrleigha thank you sir. However, you never noted if the Adhesive strip needs to be removed is anchored to the window frame
Viewed many times to make sure i fit blinds correctly ;) Laughed at you describing Hook & Loop strips as "Fluffy" or "Prickly" side 😂
Off to IKEA Glasgow(UK)
Im going to ask my missus to put our blinds up. Not convinced she'll have the same effect😁
You’re so funny and, thanks for watching!
Had my husband watch the video showing an elderly gentleman installing these shades. Didn't want hubby watching this sexy lady video doing the same thing-ha! Anyway, thanks for the good demo! :)
Hahaha!! Smart woman 😆
This was really helpful. Just installed mine!
Awe perfect
How to clean this? Is it washable?
May I attach the adhesive on the wall instead of under the frame?
You could technically! Yes
perfact description. looks like you are a good teacher. ..lol...Awesome job...nice voice...
+Ravi PAREKH thank you!!
Imma give them a try in my kitchen
.
.
They work really well
can it be cut in size for a window of a width less than 90 cm, i know it can be cut in length but what about width? thanks
+missthunderstormable they do make a slimmer one! We have one on the foyer but it's from ikea. You could cut these as well!
oh yes the pleated shades, that's why I'm here...
Hi there, can the blinds stay fully attached to the top of the window?
Thanks
+Filipe Machado Dias you mean without pulling them down to cover your window? You can put them as far up or down as you want with a clip
is it possible to open and close them
how is it to remove these blinds? is it difficult? does the adhesive pull paint off?
+SimplyRefreshing Super simple. it's just an adhesive sticker. My paint was old and it did take some of it off but it was not noticeable.
I put on three of these as interim blinds until I got a regular set, and the double stick tape remained on the wood frame of the window instead peeling off with the blinds. It separated from the blinds instead, leaving the gooey stuff on the wood, and was very difficult to clean off the wood. The force needed to pull it off also distorted the pleats blinds, so I decided it was better to just cut the one pleat off and leave it stuck on the window, since I was going to put the regular blinds on top of it anyway. That way the pleated blinds could be reused after getting more double stick tape, or just use something like a staple gun to attach.
I probably should have used a staple gun in the first place instead of the tape, since I wasn't planning to leave it on permanently.
These are good if you don't need to open them at all; it's not practical to raise and lower them on a regular basis, because it's fussy trying to carefully separate the velcro hook and loop (prickly and fuzzy) fasteners without wrinkling them permanently, as the bottom doesn't have a stiff edge. If you use something like a long wooden ruler as a bottom edge you might be able to open and close them more easily.
The clips are used to raise them up by bunching the pleats on the bottom together.
this is so helpful I'm saving this.
Thankyou so much! 👏🏻 So helpful
i wonder how long they will last... :)? biut looks simple for my window here... the curtains are all to long...
+F -André Well they last. The glue is tough, my cats managed to pull one completely off but in my case the cats were to blame not the construction of the actual blinds. For a cheap alternative underneath drapes these are terrific and from outside they look way fancier than a few bucks!! I have ordered the ones off Amazon to replace the one that came down and to add three to three more windows and those work well too, they're pretty much identical except for the clips at the bottom.
How see-through is it? I know it let´s a lot of light in and I am ok with that but does it give you enough privacy?
You would only be able to make out a silhouette if there's a light behind a person standing in front of it, no details will be visible otherwise. If you wanted to do a crazy dance in front of it, someone outside could see the wild action, but they wouldn't know it's you.
Excellent thank you!
I'm in love. With the blinds, of course.
+Igosuki 😝🌹
😆🥑
This woman is a legit 10. Wow
Does it block the sunlight well?
+Duuurrriii it's decent but the blackout ones do!
How do you keep the blinds up in the daytime?
+Barb Chivers there's a clip
Amazon link not working.....Would you please provide some direct links to the product
Yes I am so sorry I havent checked in a while
Does it leave any marks on the wall after uninstallation?
no it did not
can you pull them up all the way?
How do you get these to stay Up when you don’t want them closed?
When you don’t want them closed you actually apply some of the Velcro to the top of the window and they sort of bunch up like an accordion and stick :)
Can you come over and show me how?
Lol I’m trying to figure out how to do this in my VAN 😂🤣
You totally can!
I will do it Up Side down for daylight
How much light do they take out?
does the velcro strip come with the blind?
Yes
thx!
Please note: surfaces should be cleaned well before applying adhesive. Also, you don't demonstrate blinds going up and down.
Thanks!!! It was very helpful
Thanks
Wow so pretty
❤️❤️
May I know the width of a pleat please?
Great specially the demonstrator, very pretty
thanks
Thank you for the tutorial, appreciate it!
Anytime
Awesome video thanks a ton!
Another fantastic video
+banksy2012 Thanks so much, this one was short, sweet and to the point.
I came to see the blinds. You need to do ASMR videos. Like, seriously!
Thank you for the video!
Can it be used outdoor ?
+Tuggets I'm not sure but I don't see why not if it won't get wet
If you concentrate you will learn this video is about fitting blinds.
Thank you so much
Jesus. After so many tutorials, where the narrator speaks in broken English with Indian accent, this feels like an ASMR. It is also a great tutorial video overall. Thank you.
❤️
Can this blind be used for airconditioned room?
Wow! what a blinder
Good job!
+RussManK3 Well, thank you!!
