    The clip things are supposed to be used to hold the blind up. So you bunch as many folds into the clip as you want depending on how high you want the blind. Good video though as I only worked that out from watching this video, despite you not mentioning it here.

      Okay! If you use ur logic. U can come up w/ multiple solutions. Use magnetic, pls. same color; velcro dots; 6 fishing lines as usual blinds. You can cover the lines using clear rubbers and hanging from a small hook; hair clips, large paper clip (Metal ones are too heavy for the glue). If none of this work for you. Replay bk to me. I sit down and think. Cause Im too busy right now. Carla, I hope I help. Take care ❤.

      I have an answer for you guys. While your at IKEA also buy a product called TORKIS clothespins. This will give you enough materiel to open these blinds at any height you prefer for approximately 10 windows and it also includes a nice storage solution. Only downside is that it will up the cost with 0,25 dollar per window. Kim thank you for your wonderful and thural explanation.

      The clamps the she puts on the bottom. You lift up the blinds and add the pleats into the clamp.

    • @-The-Golden-God-
      @-The-Golden-God- 6 років тому +1

      The clamps can only hold a small amount of folds. It's impossible to hold the whole blind open with the clamps that Ikea provides. I've had to use clothes pegs.

    I live in a rented room and I probably need to remove them when I move out.
    I was thinking of putting one or two lines of masking tape onto the window frame and then sticking the blinds onto the line of tape.
    Do you think this will stay in place andI can remove them easily when i move out? :/
    (They renewed the entire house including the windows last year so I really dont want to get into trouble by removing paint when trying to remove the sticky parts of the blinds.)

    • @Kimbyrleigha
      @Kimbyrleigha  6 років тому

      I don’t think the adhesive is strong enough to pull off anything except the actual blinds, the adhesive that’s being used is really not any kind of like industrial strength that would be very easy to peel off you could try it somewhere else and see what happens but I honestly don’t think it’s going to pull off paint because I’ve used them many times in a very old apartment at the time and it didn’t.

  • @uzaczek

    I do have those blinds. they are already put on my windows. my question was if you know the way to clip them on top so they open up entire window:)

    • @Kimbyrleigha
      @Kimbyrleigha  8 років тому +3

      +uzaczek I already answered in that... the amazon ones have clips and you fold them and clip them at the length you want. The ikea ones come with those flimsy clips which don't work. Then, I said you could get small clips like the amazon ones so I posted that link so you can get an idea :)

      +Tom Chapman haha it does look like that doesn't it. I was using my OLD lighting, With my new lighting and zoom on my camera you would see what I mean, if the blinds are the other way, the sticky part won't fold UP it will be hanging underneath, I have put it on that way and had to take the whole thing off. Although, I will say it still stuck after I removed and reapplied it!! hahah I work the camera as much as I can hahah thank you.

    • @dtrrtd774
      @dtrrtd774 7 років тому +1

      I put on three of these as interim blinds until I got a regular set, and the double stick tape remained on the wood frame of the window instead peeling off with the blinds. It separated from the blinds instead, leaving the gooey stuff on the wood, and was very difficult to clean off the wood. The force needed to pull it off also distorted the pleats blinds, so I decided it was better to just cut the one pleat off and leave it stuck on the window, since I was going to put the regular blinds on top of it anyway. That way the pleated blinds could be reused after getting more double stick tape, or just use something like a staple gun to attach.
      I probably should have used a staple gun in the first place instead of the tape, since I wasn't planning to leave it on permanently.
      These are good if you don't need to open them at all; it's not practical to raise and lower them on a regular basis, because it's fussy trying to carefully separate the velcro hook and loop (prickly and fuzzy) fasteners without wrinkling them permanently, as the bottom doesn't have a stiff edge. If you use something like a long wooden ruler as a bottom edge you might be able to open and close them more easily.
      The clips are used to raise them up by bunching the pleats on the bottom together.

    • @Kimbyrleigha
      @Kimbyrleigha  8 років тому +1

      +F -André Well they last. The glue is tough, my cats managed to pull one completely off but in my case the cats were to blame not the construction of the actual blinds. For a cheap alternative underneath drapes these are terrific and from outside they look way fancier than a few bucks!! I have ordered the ones off Amazon to replace the one that came down and to add three to three more windows and those work well too, they're pretty much identical except for the clips at the bottom.

      You would only be able to make out a silhouette if there's a light behind a person standing in front of it, no details will be visible otherwise. If you wanted to do a crazy dance in front of it, someone outside could see the wild action, but they wouldn't know it's you.

    Please note: surfaces should be cleaned well before applying adhesive. Also, you don't demonstrate blinds going up and down.

    Jesus. After so many tutorials, where the narrator speaks in broken English with Indian accent, this feels like an ASMR. It is also a great tutorial video overall. Thank you.
