It's definitely a class I could recommend to others once more after the recent rounds of buffs that lower her difficulty/gear requirements, make her stronger, and vastly improve her consistency. Let me know if you still play Sorceress and if you're excited for these changes! As always, the pinned message will include things I might have forgotten in the video: - Because your entire burst rotation ends in around 13 seconds, you'll have to get in the habit of pressing Z at the very end after the second Doomsday hits the ground to cancel any remaining identity you still have running. That way you can start building your next identity a few seconds sooner, especially if Quick Recharge procs. - It's still good to send your second Doomsday in Mana Addiction if you know the boss is going to be leaving soon for a major gimmick. Sometimes you can't do anything about it, but the same rule applies as before. It's ideal to send the second Doomsday in Endless MP, but if all else fails it's not bad to send it in Mana Addiction. It's not the best situation because usually supporter buffs and Atropine Potion don't usually reach the second Doomsday but it's not bad either. - Because of how often I get asked if Sorceress can use AOA 2. Yes, after this patch, you can use AOA 2 if you somehow cut a 9-7 stone with AOA as the 7 or 10. Yes it'll be a damage increase over a typical 5x3+1 set-up. Yes it won't be uncomfortable. No it's still not ideal, but you don't have to feel bad about using it anymore (if you did before).
awesome video saint, question though, shouldnt you want your second doomsday to not be in the boundless mp state for nightmare? or could you tell me the reason why its better to be in boundless than not for 2nd doomsday?
@@dhaha7 Sending your second Doomsday in Boundless will greatly lower its cooldown so that you can enter your Z (Arcane Rupture) again as soon as possible. If you send it in Mana Addiction, you will have to wait much longer (~10 seconds).

i wish reflux got more out of these changes in general. like i mean igniter got a ton of buffs here and reflux basicly just got better reverse gravity and small hp buff thats it.
what i don't understand is why keen blunt is advised as an option for nightmare sorcs for bosses with attack power increases it makes sense but that is only: theamine g6 (most people will run normal for a while on na, so this doesn't even apply) aswell as voldike g3 and the end of g2; iirc that should be it (no idea about echidna and behemoth), so this most likely only affects 2 gates in the game for most people considering the kb procc drawback to be 2% at adrenaline 3 (75% critchance without critsyn) kb gives 14.9 % damage in identity and 13.2% outside compared to the 16% hitmaster provides (granted not on awakening, still higher) with one crit synergy this increases to 15.97% and 15.38 % respectivly, so just barely comparable to hitmaster when using only adrenaline 1 kb only provides 13.8 % in identity and 10.7% outside compared to 15.7% of cursed doll so unless you run crit on bracelet, master elixirs, adrenalin 3 and have at least one crit syn, kb will do quite a bit less damage than cd in fights without attack power increases
That's pretty much it, yes. It's just an alternative to an AP increasing engraving which is those fights plus your daily guardian (both Gargadith as well as Veskal the 1630 boss feature AP buffs as well). That as well as your Atropine Potion burst is also impacted. It's always been necessary to get crit synergies to make KBW more effective in general. To be clearer, if you see a Nightmare Sorceress on Loawa with KBW, it's because they 100% intend for the party's synergies to be built around them in any serious content.

Maybe Behemoth since he looks like a big, slow damage sponge at first glance. And if so, where could one find the build setup without skimming through the vods?
it is basically the same build but you change the tripod for explosion. Use explosion > doomsday > arcane rupture and hope the boss doesn't move. This way you can explosion twice in arcane rupture state.

I want to use seraphic hail over rime arrow, even if it means re-rolling gems, since I really like the skill, but my question would be as follows: Is seraphic hail over rime arrow still good for a hallucination variation, since the cd wont interfere with boundless and that may be the only reason to use it? Do you think sorceress, even though gaining a counter now, will also suffer from low stagger again? Since they increased the stagger of both esoteric and rime arrow, but now we stop using both skills, our stagger is back to being pretty bad no?
Yes, because even if you use Hallucination, the new Doomsday cooldown will overlap with Rime Arrow. This happens to both sets. Stagger will not become an issue, Inferno is pretty good if you have both stacks.

Why isn't Ice Shower more popular over Squall? Now that the level 7 tripods can be put on the counters, wouldn't some on-demand push immunity be nice to have?
Strictly because of the cooldown on Squall being 3 seconds lower! Push immunity is a bit overrated with comfort since spacebar achieves the same result but there's no harm in using Ice Shower on prog!

great vid as always. one question i had was hows sorc's stagger ability feel with seraphic hall considering the two skills that got their stagger buffed a couple balances ago was RA and Eso.
It's good! Seraphic only has 20% less stagger than Rime Arrow, and two casts of Inferno is better instantaneous stagger than most skills (though it can't be pre-casted like RG).
Thanks for the video. Is there a priority on cooldown gems, assuming we had DD already at 10 prior to this patch? Is it frost call > inferno > seraphic > blaze? I would assume frost call since it has superior gauge generation but with inferno doing decent damage and gauge gen would you place it higher?
Hey Saint, thanks for the video! It really helped a lot to understand the changes. I just have one question though: its about using the 5x3 + 1 setup with adren 3 ep 1 with hallu set, is there a significant DPS loss compared to a 5x3 + 1 hallu setup with kbw 3 and adren 1?
I think you have to consider how much crit that would give you, especially depending on your bracelet. You might pigeonhole yourself into not being able to play with crit synergies at all, or worse yet overcap on your own. It's not an issue if you're playing with non-crit synergies and hovering just under 100% crit rate though.
so.. i wonder how it affects the playstyle of Hallu-Sorc and how i should change skills there too, cause mainly you say its for the nightmare set and boundless rotation > or is it better to build back again? i personally dont like reverse, so i never really played it anyways, and precisely which gems do you play on which skill? (well i can look that up on LOA i guess), but i think Nexus said if you have higher CD gems you can play it on lightning and explosion, but i only got lv 8´s so i play the dmg gems on rime arrow+frostcall instead of CD on the big DMG skills im pretty confused to what i should expect when we get the patch and what i should do
Hallucination Sorceress hasn't changed. Seraphic is still an option (and recommended) for Hallucination Sorc, especially if you want to play double Esoteric still. Please check gem configuration on Loawa! Do not run cooldown gems EVER on Explosion or Punishing Strike, no guide should be recommending that so I think you misread. And damage gem should not go on Frost Call either.
Been playing Sorceress since NA launch been enjoying it a lot.... recently swapped to the boundless build; it's feels great and everyone is happy I counter. The changes looks great. But I always end up with no crit syn, a Summoner, and an Artist... xD
hey saint, do you know if adrena1 with one crit synergy is better or worse than adrena3 ep1 with one crit synergy aswell? Im pretty much always with one crit sinergy, and after trying hallu vs nightmare yesterday nightmare seemed more fun, however I was wondering if I needed to rebuild the character or not. Also is Master elixir instead of Critical mandatory aswell for this build? Im still with critical since i was playing hallu

Playing KBW NM Sorceress means you expect people to build party synergy around you (specifically seeking crit synergies) for high level contents. I don't recommend it unless you know what you're doing.

Arcana changes are pretty great! For Empress, Star means you can reasonably maintain Endless MP for super prolonged periods of time, something she'd sometimes struggle with. Not needing stacks for your Awakening is also a nice little plus. Emperor also benefits from this to some degree, but Emperor already had an easier time with maintaining Endless MP anyways compared to Empress. For Emperor, the reduction of detonation time on Evoke from 3 seconds to 2 seconds is a massive improvement for consistency and enjoyment.
great guide , but the 5% extra crit rate got me curious about spec swift sorc for even faster gameplay and if it has been tested at all .Any ideas to that build?
Don't try this outside trixion: 2dom 4nm 3 sec downtime 650 swift with c/j boundless Igniter 3 Hitmaster 3 Adren 3 AoA 3 Grudge 3 Awakening 1 This can hit all 3 twice.
How is reflux currently in Korea? I am already getting gatekept a lot for Ivory HM with 1620, 5x3+1, 40 elixier, good stats etc. Will I have to change to Ingniter to stay relevant for further content or is there hope for reflux?

I don't think it really matters much, but raw damage will be more beneficial for you at that level of gem improvement (the extra cooldown gems won't do much).

(Sadly no Precise in bracalet after a lot of tries) If i had a crit/spec bracalet with precise i guess its worth to play always nightmare after the patch? Last question sorry, with the stone 9/7 i have, im trolling if im thinking to play 5x3+1 like yours and forget about synergys like you said?
I think you should consider the Nightmare build regardless if you have a 9/7 stone. And yes it would be trolling to do the same build as me, you have access to a BIS set-up with that stone.

I wanted to ask what would be the best 5x3+1 engraving setup to play with Nightmare ? and if an 5x3+1 engraving setup that could allow to play Hallu with no Crit Syn and Nightmare with 1+ Crit Syn was still on the table if that's worth it ? Currently with your Nightmare build ur crit rate must be around atleast 30+15+23+7=75% with no crit Syn
It's very comfortable to play with the engravings that I listed in the video for 5x3+1, with Adrenaline 3 and EP 1. If you're running Hallucination though you'll be running KBW 3 and Adrenaline 1. Adrenaline - 5% Igniter - 30% Hallucination - 28% Crit - 20-23% Master (if you have this) - 7% This is enough crit chance where you can be flexible with your synergies. But be mindful if your bracelet may or may not increase your crit chance further depending on if you have Precise or Circulation on it, as with Master Elixirs you'll overcap even with Adrenaline 1.
I don't think there are good benefits to running meter gain tripod on it since you can (and should) be able to fill the meter without that. Plus, the additional casts usually results in similar (maybe slightly less) meter gen over time anyways.
Yes but you will need to either use Hallucination set or have crit synergies if you're using NM set if you want KBW to be efficient. Though to be honest I never really cared about an inefficient KBW in homework raids.

They're too slow for building meter because of the cast time and there's always something else to cast if you're in Endless MP. The damage doesn't correlate to worth outside of Igniter since we're rushing to beat the Doomsday cooldown of 13s.
Yeah stacked is just safe since it's really efficient for instant meter building out of mechs. Weak Point Detection is also decent since the skill does pretty solid damage if you can consistently run it off cooldown. Seraphic over Rime Arrow is a personal recommendation even for Hallucination build due to cooldown alignment.
Hello saint, thanks for the video, still at 1570, been using hallu with adre3 and no kbw. I'd only hit 65% crit rate without hallu, is it still worth going nightmare with that crit rate? Wanted to try nightmare out with the upcoming changes
It can still be worth it to use Nightmare, especially since it will teach you play around Endless MP if you like that style. It takes a bit of practice and getting used to.
For Hallucination, it's a preference pick. Seraphic over Rime is something I recommend, but you don't have to do. Inferno over Esoteric offers easier meter building if for some reason you're still having issues building meter before the 23 second cooldown, but Esoteric Reaction still does more damage if you're playing around double Eso in Igniter.
I NEED to play crackhead sorc to pump. I will hate it how much I'll suffer, but the potential of having that one good run where you land everything is a dream. If you can pull it off, it will make sorcs look like a broken class. I apologize in advance Saintone, but there is no stopping me from playing crackhead build in some contents.
If you're Hallucination, Esoteric Reaction is still a choice over Inferno, unless you really like Inferno. Inferno will offer slightly better building phase but Esoteric Reaction will offer noticeably more damage if you're still playing around double Eso in Igniter state.
If you did get it with Thaemine, Sorceress would be ultra comfortable in that raid, even in Gate 4 HM which is a bit painful for her without it. Have hope?

Now im playing halu kbw3 adr1 and crit dmg elixirs, im criting most of the time but i can swich to master to have aditional crit rate from elixirs so maybe adr1+stats+master will be enought to play nightmere. It is possible to play NM with that set-up (with Master elixirs) but the consistency may leave you wanting. If you do that, I strongly recommend at least for new raids you play around double crit synergies.
Master if Nightmare 100%! Hallucination can be flexible with either, and I wouldn't be too picky if I landed on one or the other. But if you end up with Critical elixirs it's kind of subpar if you decide later you want to play Nightmare if you aren't playing that already.
I'm not an expert, only an enjoyer, but I assume HM is still better than KBW overall for nightmare build, bc Igniter already has a lot of CDmg built to it, to the point that you'd still need more crit even with the extra 5% to out value KBW's downside while HM has no downside for sorc at all
I feel like having the crackhead build is is still a good thing to have/learn if like you want to humble your friend for being annoying for being mvp with he's NE SE xD
It's a funny build, but it can have frustrating moments similar to pre-patch Sorceress, so it's not worth encouraging people to try/learn it, even if it has a higher ceiling. I think this patch making Sorceress much easier to play will do a lot of good for public perception of the class, and even reduce gatekeeping long-term.
@Saint Whats about Hallu Sorc? In the Skill Section you did not mention an example build for it. Will i be replacing something (maybe Eso?) for Inferno? What about the gems (currently i have Lv.10 on Eso, will this be very helpful for Inferno? In case you tell me to swap those skills)? Will i be replacing Rime with Seraphic? For Hallucination Sorceress everything remains about the same as Nightmare, except you leave Squall at level 7 instead of bringing it all the way to 9 to lower the mana cost! Esoteric Reaction is an option over Inferno as well if you already have that, the advantages of Inferno are mainly for Nightmare cycling and meter gen on a lower cycle cooldown, things that Hallucination doesn't have to worry about. I would still recommend Seraphic Hail over Rime Arrow for the reasons detailed in the video regarding timing in relation to Doomsday.
What are your thoughts on Overheated Meteor for the crackhead variant? Other than increasing your suffering of course. Is there any merit? Are you able to Doomsday, delayed Explosion, then Arcane rupture and go from there?
Nope! Seraphic is only 20% less stagger than Rime Arrow and Inferno is better instantaneous stagger than RG/ER if you have both casts, and these are all free to throw into a stagger check without any loss. You'll not notice a loss.
Sorc is already broken af, and yet they still buff her even more... SMH what about gunslinger and balancing other classes who are in the lower ends of the dps tree?
She is not broken af. It's okay level atm but some other classes def need buff much more eager than her. It's just the class has like 25 esther weapons. Ppl who plays this class whale a ton and it brings money to SG

Mainly because I've always been an Igniter Sorceress. I briefly tried Reflux in the past but found it to be actually lot more stressful to play in comparison.
yea thank god finally sorcs can do half of a gs dmg, 1 focused shot hits for like 3 doomsdays and its getting annoying how a ranged hitmaster no identity unconditional class like gs can be better than any other class, if i was a surge main i would be really mad, people complain about them being broken when 1 gs rotation is like 5 minutes of dmg for surge, smilegate please nerf gs

I personally prefer Hallucination to be more independent regarding crit, but I often hear people say that NM does more damage.
NM does more damage when both builds have their ideal synergies and is arguably more fun/interactive during the building phase.
Why isn't Ice Shower more popular over Squall? Now that the level 7 tripods can be put on the counters, wouldn't some on-demand push immunity be nice to have?
Strictly because of the cooldown on Squall being 3 seconds lower! Push immunity is a bit overrated with comfort since spacebar achieves the same result but there's no harm in using Ice Shower on prog!

great vid as always. one question i had was hows sorc's stagger ability feel with seraphic hall considering the two skills that got their stagger buffed a couple balances ago was RA and Eso.
It's good! Seraphic only has 20% less stagger than Rime Arrow, and two casts of Inferno is better instantaneous stagger than most skills (though it can't be pre-casted like RG).
Thanks for the video. Is there a priority on cooldown gems, assuming we had DD already at 10 prior to this patch? Is it frost call > inferno > seraphic > blaze? I would assume frost call since it has superior gauge generation but with inferno doing decent damage and gauge gen would you place it higher?
Hey Saint, thanks for the video! It really helped a lot to understand the changes. I just have one question though: its about using the 5x3 + 1 setup with adren 3 ep 1 with hallu set, is there a significant DPS loss compared to a 5x3 + 1 hallu setup with kbw 3 and adren 1?
I think you have to consider how much crit that would give you, especially depending on your bracelet. You might pigeonhole yourself into not being able to play with crit synergies at all, or worse yet overcap on your own. It's not an issue if you're playing with non-crit synergies and hovering just under 100% crit rate though.

(well i can look that up on LOA i guess), but i think Nexus said if you have higher CD gems you can play it on lightning and explosion, but i only got lv 8´s so i play the dmg gems on rime arrow+frostcall instead of CD on the big DMG skills

Hallucination Sorceress hasn't changed. Seraphic is still an option (and recommended) for Hallucination Sorc, especially if you want to play double Esoteric still.
Please check gem configuration on Loawa! Do not run cooldown gems EVER on Explosion or Punishing Strike, no guide should be recommending that so I think you misread. And damage gem should not go on Frost Call either.
Been playing Sorceress since NA launch been enjoying it a lot.... recently swapped to the boundless build; it's feels great and everyone is happy I counter. The changes looks great.
But I always end up with no crit syn, a Summoner, and an Artist... xD
hey saint, do you know if adrena1 with one crit synergy is better or worse than adrena3 ep1 with one crit synergy aswell? Im pretty much always with one crit sinergy, and after trying hallu vs nightmare yesterday nightmare seemed more fun, however I was wondering if I needed to rebuild the character or not.
Also is Master elixir instead of Critical mandatory aswell for this build? Im still with critical since i was playing hallu

Playing KBW NM Sorceress means you expect people to build party synergy around you (specifically seeking crit synergies) for high level contents. I don't recommend it unless you know what you're doing.

Arcana changes are pretty great!
For Empress, Star means you can reasonably maintain Endless MP for super prolonged periods of time, something she'd sometimes struggle with. Not needing stacks for your Awakening is also a nice little plus.
Emperor also benefits from this to some degree, but Emperor already had an easier time with maintaining Endless MP anyways compared to Empress. For Emperor, the reduction of detonation time on Evoke from 3 seconds to 2 seconds is a massive improvement for consistency and enjoyment.

You would be locked into hallu adren 3 basically but it would be very cheap to build

a question regarding the gems, I have lvl 10 damage on 3 major spells and 1 lvl 10 cd on meteor, everything else is lvl 9
what are the next lvl 10 gems in terms of importance? better getting more damage or getting more cd to fill our meter better? ..
I don't think it really matters much, but raw damage will be more beneficial for you at that level of gem improvement (the extra cooldown gems won't do much).

No the swift is not necessary or recommended. It was just cheap!

I have a 9/7 Hit master/Adrenaline and play 5x3+2, should i still play hallu if i don't have crit synergy in my party after the patch? I have around 68% crit rate without hallu and it would be 73% after the patch.
(Sadly no Precise in bracalet after a lot of tries) If i had a crit/spec bracalet with precise i guess its worth to play always nightmare after the patch?
Last question sorry, with the stone 9/7 i have, im trolling if im thinking to play 5x3+1 like yours and forget about synergys like you said?
I think you should consider the Nightmare build regardless if you have a 9/7 stone. And yes it would be trolling to do the same build as me, you have access to a BIS set-up with that stone.

I wanted to ask what would be the best 5x3+1 engraving setup to play with Nightmare ? and if an 5x3+1 engraving setup that could allow to play Hallu with no Crit Syn and Nightmare with 1+ Crit Syn was still on the table if that's worth it ?
Currently with your Nightmare build ur crit rate must be around atleast 30+15+23+7=75% with no crit Syn
It's very comfortable to play with the engravings that I listed in the video for 5x3+1, with Adrenaline 3 and EP 1. If you're running Hallucination though you'll be running KBW 3 and Adrenaline 1.
Adrenaline - 5%
Igniter - 30%
Hallucination - 28%
Crit - 20-23%
Master (if you have this) - 7%
This is enough crit chance where you can be flexible with your synergies. But be mindful if your bracelet may or may not increase your crit chance further depending on if you have Precise or Circulation on it, as with Master Elixirs you'll overcap even with Adrenaline 1.
If we prefer to run Rime Arrow over Seraphic, do we still need to run CD tripod? Or can we go meter gen tripod instead?
I don't think there are good benefits to running meter gain tripod on it since you can (and should) be able to fill the meter without that. Plus, the additional casts usually results in similar (maybe slightly less) meter gen over time anyways.
Can I use KBW over HM for the build ? Sorry for asking a noob question here
Yes but you will need to either use Hallucination set or have crit synergies if you're using NM set if you want KBW to be efficient. Though to be honest I never really cared about an inefficient KBW in homework raids.
hey Saint i have been watching u play this build and most of the time ur not using explosion or punishing strike to finish building ur meter bar. im wondering why?
They're too slow for building meter because of the cast time and there's always something else to cast if you're in Endless MP. The damage doesn't correlate to worth outside of Igniter since we're rushing to beat the Doomsday cooldown of 13s.

Yeah stacked is just safe since it's really efficient for instant meter building out of mechs. Weak Point Detection is also decent since the skill does pretty solid damage if you can consistently run it off cooldown. Seraphic over Rime Arrow is a personal recommendation even for Hallucination build due to cooldown alignment.

It can still be worth it to use Nightmare, especially since it will teach you play around Endless MP if you like that style. It takes a bit of practice and getting used to.

For Hallucination, it's a preference pick. Seraphic over Rime is something I recommend, but you don't have to do. Inferno over Esoteric offers easier meter building if for some reason you're still having issues building meter before the 23 second cooldown, but Esoteric Reaction still does more damage if you're playing around double Eso in Igniter.
I NEED to play crackhead sorc to pump. I will hate it how much I'll suffer, but the potential of having that one good run where you land everything is a dream. If you can pull it off, it will make sorcs look like a broken class. I apologize in advance Saintone, but there is no stopping me from playing crackhead build in some contents.
I'll let you discover for yourself that it isn't worth it.

If you're Hallucination, Esoteric Reaction is still a choice over Inferno, unless you really like Inferno. Inferno will offer slightly better building phase but Esoteric Reaction will offer noticeably more damage if you're still playing around double Eso in Igniter state.

If you did get it with Thaemine, Sorceress would be ultra comfortable in that raid, even in Gate 4 HM which is a bit painful for her without it. Have hope?

is it possible to play Nightmere on build with kbw3 adr1? adr1+main stat its enough to play nightmere? Now im playing halu kbw3 adr1 and crit dmg elixirs, im criting most of the time but i can swich to master to have aditional crit rate from elixirs so maybe adr1+stats+master will be enought to play nightmere. I do not know what to think about it dont wanna pray for crit
It is possible to play NM with that set-up (with Master elixirs) but the consistency may leave you wanting. If you do that, I strongly recommend at least for new raids you play around double crit synergies.

For elixirs, do you use Master or Critical?
Master if Nightmare 100%! Hallucination can be flexible with either, and I wouldn't be too picky if I landed on one or the other. But if you end up with Critical elixirs it's kind of subpar if you decide later you want to play Nightmare if you aren't playing that already.

I'm not an expert, only an enjoyer, but I assume HM is still better than KBW overall for nightmare build, bc Igniter already has a lot of CDmg built to it, to the point that you'd still need more crit even with the extra 5% to out value KBW's downside while HM has no downside for sorc at all

I feel like having the crackhead build is is still a good thing to have/learn if like you want to humble your friend for being annoying for being mvp with he's NE SE xD
It's a funny build, but it can have frustrating moments similar to pre-patch Sorceress, so it's not worth encouraging people to try/learn it, even if it has a higher ceiling. I think this patch making Sorceress much easier to play will do a lot of good for public perception of the class, and even reduce gatekeeping long-term.

For Hallucination Sorceress everything remains about the same as Nightmare, except you leave Squall at level 7 instead of bringing it all the way to 9 to lower the mana cost! Esoteric Reaction is an option over Inferno as well if you already have that, the advantages of Inferno are mainly for Nightmare cycling and meter gen on a lower cycle cooldown, things that Hallucination doesn't have to worry about. I would still recommend Seraphic Hail over Rime Arrow for the reasons detailed in the video regarding timing in relation to Doomsday.

Nope! Seraphic is only 20% less stagger than Rime Arrow and Inferno is better instantaneous stagger than RG/ER if you have both casts, and these are all free to throw into a stagger check without any loss. You'll not notice a loss.
