Art Tatum playing the standard "Over the Rainbow". If you've ever watched the Wizard of Oz you will certainly already have heard of this song.. Incidently this song was actually originally written for the movie in 1939 so Art got hold of this pretty quickly.
This is certainly one of my favorite tunes of his, it never ceases to amaze me with beauty no matter how many times i hear it. Its not hard to notice how Art's music and harmonies mature and grow as he gains more experience as he plays right up until the year of his death in 1956. Who wouldn't if they could play like that?
