  • In this tutorial we make a simple, seized dog leash. It is made out of a piece of rope, 3/8 inch in diameter (10mm). Use a rope a foot longer than the desired leash length (a 4 foot leash would require a rope 5 feet long).
    A snap hook is stitched into place on one end of the rope and a loop on the other end. Use a strong thread.
    Then the stitching is covered using a seizing (5.5 feet of type 1 paracord per strand).

    I learn something new in every tutorial you make. This time it was simply how to attach the needle to the thread. I have previously been using the regular sewing thread attachment method. I do appreciate your expertise in knotting Marco, you truly are amazing!!

    Hello! i think that last knot(that two cords) across the main knot is very vulnerable. Because we are talking about a dog and it can bite it. I believe that last knot need to be into main knot, it will be harder and tenacious decision. Thanks for video!

    Great video, Marko.
    Some people use a bit of glue between the two parts of rope before sewing, for that EXTRA extra bit of security.

      Could work if the glue is strong. Shrink wrap also comes to mind.

    How would you make the elder wand from Harry Potter using paracord? What core would you use to tie the knots around? And how many strands? I'm not sure how to aproach this so I'd like to know your oppinion before trying. Thank you. ^^

    Hello, your video is super, this is my first time, can you tell me what kind of little red hope do you use to sew the leash? I am afraid to buy something too large to fill in the needle.
    I guess there are special needle for this.

      Hey!
      Yeah, the needle size matters (ear/loop size). I recommend buying a set with different sizes so you are covered with all thread sizes. The thread I am using is 0.8mm thread. You can use a smaller diameter as well. I recommend polyester thread since those are really strong.

    Love the videos , but would have gone with a different whipping to finish off here.

      Hey!
      This one is actually a seizing, not a whipping. These can be used as they also add functional strength to the handle. A whipping is more decorative.

    Is that stitch one piece of waxed thread with a needle on either end?

    • @Paracordguild
      @Paracordguild  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah, the saddle stitch, very common in leather work due to strength and reliability.
