Great video. I purchased almost that Identical vehicle in the same color back in May. Your assessment of "11 out of 10" echoes my sentiment as well! I'm at 6K miles now and average 42.9MPG. AND I have nearly 500HP at my disposal. It's by far the quietest vehicle I've ever been in, and the air shocks lower 2", but also go higher by 2"... so if you need to drive over a curb or small log, you needn't worry about scraping up the underside.
I also enjoyed the comedic camera smack as you were saying that the convenient locations keep you from accidentally hitting things. 😂 Thanks for keeping that in, definitely adds flavor.
Thanks for the review and best of luck on your goals of growing the channel! The video and audio quality is good, I am curious about what cameras and mic you are using? The sound from your camera mounts is a bit distracting during the driving portion though, so maybe try a different one there.

Very informative video. I am a loyal Toy/Lexus owner thinking about making the jump to this vehicle. My only concern is finding chargers when I go on a road trip. It's nice you don't NEED the battery juice, however, I would like to maximize the MPG. Can you help us unknowledgable electric car buyers to better understand how the charging works away from home. Specifically: 1. How do you find them? 2. How do you know if they are compatible with the X5 phew? 3. How long does it take to charge? 4. Do we need to purchase an additional charger or adapter to travel? Thanks!
For the non-hybrid owners out there, just sharing what I recently learned and that's that the full HP and torque are always available even if the EV-only charge is at 0. Apparently the engineers keep a residual charge in the battery beyond what is required for EV-only mode so that full power is always available. I'm not sure "always available" shouldn't be in quote fingers because isn't there a scenario where the entire battery 'could' really be at 0 and then you're left with just the ICE? According to all the BMW folks I've spoken with, that answer is no but I'm not ruling it out. That aside, I was panicking in a big way thinking that when my battery was exhausted after 40 miles I'd be left with a 308 HP ICE. Literally, it was enough to have me cancel my 50e order but I have been assured I'll have access to full power whenever I want it, even on 300-mile drives. It'll just be less fuel efficient but I don't really care.
You'd be literally left with a less power & very heavy vehicle for all practical purposes, you really don't want this car unless you incorporate ABC (always be charging) in your driving/usability plans. It is also less luxurious than the non LCI and quite worse looking in and out. Note in these reviews they always use a camouflaged dark color version and max optioned (close to $90K) to simulate the contrary but definitely you feel the cheap construction vs the non LCI versions it is really a downgrade you will have to live with after spending all that money. Even it has some nice and creative engineering thinking it is overall a no-go in my opinion.

You would wake up with ~40 miles, drive to work full ev and use 20 miles, drive home 20 miles then plug back in and have 40 miles in the morning all without using gas.
Key to PHEV's is understanding Battery 'Health'. That is, operating them between 80% - 20% charge on a routine basis (charge to 100% for certain long trips). 3 Mode operation, Electric / Hybrid / Sport. Also is the button for 'Battery Hold'. Thus, you will see about 30 miles of 'average' driving in pure electric while maximizing battery longevity. Typically, with the provided charger & the 4 Pin Level 2 plug (40 Amp), recharge is about 3 - 4 hours when down to 20%. Using the BMW Navigation and putting it in Hybrid mode, it will meter out Battery Usage to focus on traffic jam situations along your route, running the ICE while cruising, and Electric while 'creeping' in heavy traffic. This vehicle has a LOT of menus and submenus, and with a good investment in UA-cam content from certain 'creators', you can set it up and operate it the way BMW intended (much like the focus on Voice Commands for 90% of your 'inside work', with fewer buttons in sight). there is a stop sale for all BMW x5s selling right now. what a bummer
Yeah, huge bummer esp when selling BMW’s is how you make a living too :(
@@CarJuiceYT yeah im awaiting my delivery now I have second thoughts about getting it. For Germany they are releasing a software fix until the part is available and limiting some functionalities until its done. for a 80k plus car we are not suppose to use its full potential until that repair is done and frankly which buyer want that? most are talking about not taking the deliveries. i hope BMWNA does a better job. Dealers are fighting tooth n nail to make a deal and top of it this!
Actually? My dad was planning on ordering one this month and we were going to email the dealer our build tonight or tomorrow
@@CarGeek360 if you’re building you can still order it may just be delayed for a bit.
@@CarJuiceYToh okay, I hope the wait isn’t too long as we’re probably going to need this X5 by the end of the year, we want it in Tanzanite Blue which def doesn’t help
The seat ventilation is better because ! you are sitting in the no animal skin leather seats and they are more breathable ! Then the merino leather seats .
I still prefer the Merino leather seats lol but that’s just me
So hot take on the leather vs sensafin, sensafin doesnt smell near as good. So the leather will feel more like that “new car smell” but the sensafin does a great job like he was saying of keeping you cool as well as the quilting mitigates a lot of the pressure points you might feel sitting down
@@CarJuiceYT it all comes down to personal preference, I prefer Merino leather, some will prefer SensaFin
What is that awful rattle? Is that the car or something you had with you somewhere in the car??
It’s my camera mount I used, I realized afterwards I need to tie it down a bit better.
Really nice car but I would rather get a 40i for better reliability
Very fair! If you’re considering I also have a video on that car as well on my channel.
@@CarJuiceYTI’ll watch that later
I drive my X5 50e now one year and no props what so ever !
M60i is then a 13/10
Factoring in price it’d be a 9/10 👀
hear for the jokes were it feels right
Great review..Be mindful of how many times you say "uhm".
Actively working on that. Really hard habit to break entirely. Thank you for watching
Watch before you buy. Why do channels say that?
Bc hopefully you learn something and are better educated before you buy the thing you want to buy! :)
Way too busy on the front end and the interior looks like a coffin...my opinion.
Have you seen it w a lighter interior? You can do silver seats 👀
arrogant, crude...
Thanks for watching :)
I'm intrigued by this vehicle but also terrified. So many owners have had CEL issues. Stuff related to the high voltage system. Keeping it past warranty could be a nightmare in the making. Even during warranty, dealing with service and having your $85k vehicle ripped apart doesn't sound appealing.
It’s gotten better as this car has been out longer. Definitely was expecting better with how good the 45e’s were. I have faith in BMW to sort this out.
