As a 22 year old college student who's lost both sets of grandparents, you two have become my de facto grandparents! Every video you put out I am so entertained by. Thanks for being you and doing what you do!
Your videos are so comforting to me. I come here when I can’t sleep or If it’s been a rough day just so I can feel peace and comfort. Watching you two feels like a nice hug. Thank you so much.
I am grateful that you all explained that food storage is comparable to having insurance, often we don’t need the insurance but we sure do appreciate it when you need it.
I just have to say, I have been following your family for years and absolutely adore all of you! My grandparents passed away 2 years ago and I can’t help but be reminded of them every time I watch your videos. I wish that we had something to remember them like this! I love your videos, I have learned a lot of fun recipes from you and now need to just try them! Happy New Year to you all ♥️
Missing your videos, re watching some older ones! Hope to see you back on YT very soon. ❤️ I own a medium HR machine and I try to dehydrate all of our leftovers for emergency meal storage. My grandkids love the freeze dried ice cream. Starting that this week for Easter Baskets treats.
Aloha! This is so interesting! Thank you for filming. I am so interested in freeze drying. I buy freeze dried meals for storage, but this is the ultimate. Please film the meal making part of this subject! Can’t wait!!
I’m glad you are teaching bothers how to be prepared. Any one can be prepared if they choose to do so. I’m prepared some but, need to get better prepared and I’m working on it.
I’ve never seen or heard of this method of food preservation, so this has been interesting to watch your demonstration. Great job, Chad! 👍🏻 And of course, you too Jennifer!!
That sounds great for leftover meats to use at a later date so it doesn't go to waste. Fruit and veggies also sounds like a good idea. Treats will be fun!!! Thanks for sharing! 💖 😊👍
I love the idea of freeze drying. Thanks for showing us how it’s done. Jennifer, you are so right about soups. It doesn’t take many ingredients to make a good soup. Also by freeze drying you are persevering the nutrients. Thanks for sharing. Happy New Year! Terri
Thumbs up to Chad. You did an amazing job on this video. Now that Chad is retired, he can make even more videos. (hint hint) Make sure to freeze-dry peas so you can have some to make chicken pot pies in the year 2025. ;) LOL!!! Chad you should do some survival skill videos like how to make a homemade rocket stove. Gardening tips.. etc etc. Things to help young whippersnappers out there to survive if the economy does collapse and people have to live off the land. It would be vital information for your Grandchildren. God bless you. Please do more videos. WE all love seeing your face too.
I want to purchase one so much! I’m Saving my nickels!!! Unfortunately we don’t live by any of our kids, so it’ll be interesting to see what we do. I love to can everything…. But I could see me switching to Freeze Drying in a heartbeat!! Thx for the video!
I am thinking about purchasing one of those. Thank you for sharing this video with us. Looking forward to seeing more. Water preservation is a great idea as well. Only God knows what the future may bring. It was good to see Aunt Linda in the holiday vlogs, she looks well. ❤️
👍👍 two thumbs up for Chad. Ellie wants to do Lasagna, I'm interested in that aw well as soup... Happy New Year, Jennifer and Chad. I Love your Channel. 💙💙
Thank you Chad. I love it an would love one once I learn more about them Would love to see a few cooking videos. Still trying to convince my husband it will be worth the cost.
Great job grandpa! I love your beautiful family, your dedication, and genuine care to better life for one and all. I made space to start a long term storage finally, yay!! Happy New Year!
May just say I love grandma and grandpa Griffin I take all my left overs and make soups or casseroles out of them. And I put them in my deep freezer but you have given me another way of saving on grocies Cuz I'm on a fixed income and it's very hard to come up with food saving ideas. So thank you so much for this Happy New Years to you and your family
Chad, Thank you for the informative demonstration. I went to the website and it answers many of the questions asked here. It also states that you can freeze dry ice cream and desserts. (They cut ice cream sandwiches into 1” squares.) Could you demonstrate that and maybe some chocolate chip cookies? Your water storage is very interesting. Do you use city water to fill the tank and do you have to treat it? With some of the changes going on in the world, both of these would be a great “insurance policy”.
You need to try freeze drying, milk (tastes like fresh and better than the dried milk), egg nog, chocolate milk, pineapple, marshmallows (kids love them), tomato sauce (powder it to store), pumpkin, strawberries (powder and use in lemonade), bananas (powder for banana bread), spinach (powder for smoothies)
Please continue the freeze drying videos. I am becoming interested in getting one. A further comment...Watching another channel, the family weighed the trays before and after drying to determine how much water to use per unit of food to reconstitute. For soup ingredients, it would not be important, but for something like eggs, it could prevent adding too much water and having runny eggs.
I like the idea of freeze drying food, I have never done it myself yet though. So I did a search on the machine you used & 😱 it’s extremely expensive!!! I not only can’t afford that, I also can’t justify spending that kind of money, especially since there are other ways of purchasing & storing food less expensively. Glad you have access to the machine though. 👍🏻 Thanks for sharing the info. Where do you get 500 pound water containers?
Hi jennifer and Chad from ENGLAND... amazing watching you freeze drying it's so intresting..look forward to seeing some more...HAPPY. NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOUR LOVELY FAMILY FOR 2022 XX👍🎉💕
GREAT video!!!! But I’m confused, where is “grandma and grandpa” at? I want to do freeze drying, but put the entire soup contents in each single jar. Spices, and all. Even bouillon. Not sure if it will work, but thinking it can. Can’t wait for future videos related to this. Happy New Year
Very interesting. My son went to Mississippi lately and a friend gave him some freeze dried skittles, they were delicious. How expensive is the machine?
Chad did a fabulous job talking about the freeze dryer. Living in California on 10 acres we also have water tanks. Plus a well that is fabulous water to our home .having earthquake I guess we are already a little aware. I’m 65 next year but I’m looking forward to learning more about the freeze dryer. Happy New Year to you both.❤️❤️❤️
Chad & Jennifer, TY for the instructional video on freeze drying meat & vegs but wondering why freeze dry candies (do they stay fresh for years in case there's a shortage)? LOL
Could you make a holiday desserts video including how to make fudge, divinity, chocolate covered pretzels and lime jello salad dessert? I love watching old recipe cooking videos with recipes that my grandparents used to make but we never learned how to make. Sending love to you both.
When you freeze dried food does it have a fresh taste once its cooked ? To be honest it's not a thing in the uk ....I do remember visiting my aunt and uncle in Canada alot and there was such a big cultural difference in every one had basements and every one had these glass jars full of food ..something we had never seen! We have in the past few years started to get the kilner jars but they are so expensive over hear ! It's still not a big thing like America and Canada but many more people seem to use the jars now and store food ....its great because know more waist! ... The water containers are great ....I do have 3 containers with taps on in my garden that collect rain water...and we get lots of rain in uk ..😊...I use in the summer to water plants . Great video and have learned so much on preserving food and Chad is so calming to listen too ....he needs to have a channel reading storys...😊😊
I feel like you are the grandparents we all wish we had. Throw in Aunt Linda and your family is perfect. But I have 2 questions… I don’t understand why you would not rotate this food and use it so it is not wasted. And what do you have to do to the stored water to keep it safe/clean? I assume it can’t be used for drinking straight from the tanks.
We do rotate our food storage however some of the freeze dried items I don’t want to have to replace. Perhaps when 20 years are up we will use it but then we will be 85 years old😁
What is salt water taffy ? never heard of it before . Your not selling this type of food to me guys , ( I like fresh food ) I cant fancy it to be honest the eggs yuk ! However I can see if your snowed in or cant get out to shopping re covid its a great idea ! from one Griffiths to another ! Happy new year when iti comes xx
You made a very important statement stating, how much is spent on home, car etc, insurance and not using it opposed to a couple thousand, one time cost, for food security that IS definitely used.
I like them and would love to see them as I always enjoy your videos. I have signed up with and purchased many cans from Thrive Life Freeze Dried Foods so it would be great to see you cooking with it. If there's something that you want that is freeze dried that you can't do yourself, I'd be more than happy to help you learn more about that. You could actually supplement your retirement income with it as well, let me know if you are interested and the company is local to you as well. It's a smart thing to do with the economy going the way it is. I think you'd be surprised at how quickly that water will get used but what do you do to keep it from going bad?
As a 22 year old college student who's lost both sets of grandparents, you two have become my de facto grandparents! Every video you put out I am so entertained by. Thanks for being you and doing what you do!
Aww so sorry for your loss I’m almost to that point as well and it’s hard!! Sending hugs Nick.
Also this was such a nice heartfelt comment.
First person I wish you were my parents/ grandparents.
The way Jennifer looks at Chad... 😍 You two are an amazing couple
Intensifies the flavor: that is true with some thigns, not all but definitely true for many. Excellent video thank you
Your videos are so comforting to me.
Yes ,you go Chad, I love everything y’all teach us !
Love the idea of freeze drying leftovers instead of throwing things away that gets forgotten in the fridge.
Thank you so very much! Great job Chad!
I just got my Harvest Right. Running my bread cycle now. So excited.
Please show more of this. It is so interesting.

You both did a great job of explaining the process! I have learned something new today! 😁
That sounds great for leftover meats to use at a later date so it doesn't go to waste. Fruit and veggies also sounds like a good idea. Treats will be fun!!! Thanks for sharing! 💖 😊👍
Oh yes! I've been wanting one. Perfect for building my food storage.
I love the idea of freeze drying. Thanks for showing us how it’s done. Jennifer, you are so right about soups. It doesn’t take many ingredients to make a good soup. Also by freeze drying you are persevering the nutrients. Thanks for sharing. Happy New Year!
Terri
Great job Chad. I hope to see more videos about freeze drying.
That is very informative. I am going to look into getting one.
Great explanation on freeze drying and good idea on sharing initial cost with family or friends to create food that will still be nutritious. 👍👍👍👍

Thank you Chad. I love it an would love one once I learn more about them Would love to see a few cooking videos. Still trying to convince my husband it will be worth the cost.
Thanks for this. It doesn't seem as intimidating as I thought it would with Chad's demo. Family pitching in to buy one is a great idea.
Chad did an excellent job!
Great job grandpa! I love your beautiful family, your dedication, and genuine care to better life for one and all. I made space to start a long term storage finally, yay!! Happy New Year!

@@grandmaandgrandpagriffiths4715 I hope grandpa Griffin is enjoying your retirement.
Great video does the air compressor replace the boiling of the bottle method? Or is that used for liquid?
Great video!! Thank you!

Oooo! So if milk can be freeze dried I bet some fruit juices would be yummy too! Like their homemade grape juice yumm!! 😍
@@wishingforbabywalker4035 you would have to water it down due to the sugar content.
yes thanks for showing us
I like your top/shirt Jennifer :)
Awesome job Chad 👍!

Grandma Griffiths you are so respectful of Grandpa Griffiths.
We like. Do more!
are you following RoseRed Homestead? She was a teacher at the college and she does experiments with dehydrated and freeze dried foods.
I've wondered about water storage. How do you assure the water stays potable over time?
Een hele fijne oudjaarsdag en Een Super mooi 2022gewenst

So there’s no puffy pillow looking thing that you put in before you close the door? I saw some with that. Wow!
The ne’er models don’t have them.
Good job Chad! About How much do these cost? It would be a good investment to buy one.
Yummy….! Awesome 👏🏼
I am wondering what the cost of electric use would be for a batch that would take 24-36 hours?
You made a very important statement stating, how much is spent on home, car etc, insurance and not using it opposed to a couple thousand, one time cost, for food security that IS definitely used.
Don't forget the ice cream sandwiches!
Yes this would be great to go in on for several families since I’m sure it’s super expensive and the average person could not afford one of these!
