- Four days after the storm, 13 Investigates spoke with 41 of the 98 nursing homes in Harris County and found 25% were still without power Thursday morning.

Better question is why don't these facilities have back-up power to begin with?
They do. At a lot of places, the back up failed. It’s not supposed to run for days.

@@DebraJohnsonyes, it is. That’s the purpose of the backup generator. Explain to me why it wouldn’t be made to work for days under the scenario that we have now? Are you referring to a generator or battery back up?
There tons of people who are bed bound in their homes right now suffering with the rest of us. They deserve their power on too.
Nobody is saying they don't. Half the city has no power.
Why isn't it a requirement for just facilities to have backup generators? That should be key to this.
They don't have power because THE POWER IS OUT. FOR HALF OF HOUSTON
All these places need to have generators that can run the facility. Most are privately owned businesses that only care about their profit margin. It should be illegal for any care facility not to have a backup natural gas generator.

I watched the 1hr press conf LIVE yesterday from Austin, "ACTING gov" dan patrick said "we're good.." & "we don't NEED Joe Biden's generators.." & patrick blamed & accused everyone, anyone, else for this disaster. Took NO responsibility.. he was arrogant, condescending, dismissive & misleading. It was sad, & insulting.
He thinks Texans are stupid.
Highly recommend watching, sharing & saving the entire press conference video.. may be useful for a future class action lawsuit.

Get together and file lawsuits against the rest homes and file several of them in different areas
No lawsuit is needed for people’s stupidity because they continue to refuse to get generators.
Maybe you armchair electricians can do it more quickly... it is sad but it is extremely time consuming to do what these crews are doing... 😢
