ABOUT THIS GAME:
Welcome to Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator 2, the most ridiculous and insane battle simulator in existence! Create eye watering battles with hundreds of thousands, and even millions of characters on screen! Jump into multiple story and player driven campaigns or make your own and share them with your friends! Sandbox mode will return, with infinite army sizes and far greater flexibility than ever. FPS invasion will also be returning, where you play through the eyes of a soldier fighting off hordes of zombies in first person.
Lets not ignore the elephant in the room! UEBS2 features revolutionary new crowd rendering and AI technology which uses pure GPU POWER to bring nation size battles to life! UEBS2 handles 100 times more characters on screen than its predecessor, and in far greater detail and quality. Details were not ignored, every individual has highly advanced decision making and animation, all while working together for a greater goal. We are also working hard on our own 'mass' GPU physics engine. Our hope is to bring physics to a scale never before seen, which may allow thousands of ragdolls, and millions of physics based objects. Keep in mind, our physics engine is in very early development so we can't make any guarantees.

@@SChome100 Yes. Spartans have a 55% chance to block arrows while heavy knights have 70% armor against arrows. Meanwhile in pure melee stats the spartans outclass he knights.

In a previous version, spartans were MUCH stronger, and i wasn't having it. Glad to see game basics get balanced.
Spartans were trained from when they are born to when the die in many ways not just combat. If they are overpowered than they deserve to be because they should be.
@@jackbarnes9316 they have nice tactics, turtle tactic or whatever, but one by one, they're not that strong. Although heavy knights from mid ACs, so they definetly have better battling equipment, a bit modern.

If we are talking about melee, spartans are still the strongest unit (leaving aside gods and trolls). Problem here is that there were archers too and heavy knights stats against ranged are just too good.
@@Teatsaxif Spartans is the strongest melee unit the numbers are off. Sure, a spear is a better weapon than a sword but plate armor is vastly superior. The difference between spear and sword is not as great the difference in armor. Just the fact that the knights don't even carry shields as they were superfluous should tell you something. Sure Spartans were trained to fight from early on but so were European knights. Nope, I'd give it to the knights every time.
Words cannot express how interesting it was to watch the knights outflank and wipeout all the opposing archers. I applaud you CaptainCigar for identifying this and keeping us updated on the flanks frequently and regularly.
That positioning of the spartan archers, beyond where spartan soldiers could protect them, decided the battle.
Heavy knights would still have won, but that just made it go down much faster.
No matter how many of these I watch that say "one million" I am still taken aback just how many one million people is.

something thats always disturbed me from a moral standpoint is that halfway through the soldiers have to climb over a mountain of the dead just to join them.

This was a close one, for some time was looking like the spartans had some advantage in speed, but the moment that got out of balance was when the crussaders broke through on the left wing (from crussaders view) into the archers, as those have no defense strength. Cool though.

These are fun to watch but I'd recommend not spending too much time watching the Frontline too much when there's nothing going on instead pay more attention to the flanks and break throughs which is what you did but I'd skip ahead when I see areas where nothing is happening. Besides that, great content!
I started to notice a pattern a while ago in these battles. Fate is decided in the flanks, inthis case the heavy knights were able to better destroy the spartan rear and that allowed them to distract and grind up the archers.
Having less archers to your advantage quickly makes you lose even if you had a better melee unit (which I think it's no even the case for the spartans this time around)
I think that the Spartans was faster than the medieval knights and the archers and that led them to get archers late in the battle.

Heres an idea i never see anybody try. Why dont u make a vid with the same unit and unit number say 50k knight vs 50k knight but experiment witb different unit formations and see which formations are the most effective.

Dude the Heavy Knights are the shield with all that body armor on. Its not going to be easy to get through all that armor in just a few stabs with a spear. Its going to take alot of beating to get through it.
@@crossroads8370 Lol yeah but no shield has big disadvantage, have you ever heard of phalanx formation? what can a sword do in that situation, spear is longer than sword, you cannot penetrate a phalanx formation, how can your sword inflict damage even if the knight get near a phalanx formation spartan has big shield, but of course in this battle scenario simulation looks like its a free for all brawl haha i cant see no phalanx formation, but if the spartan use that, your heavy knight will be good night, that heavy armor of theirs when push will go down easily becuz of the heavy weight alone, your knight will struggle to even get up haha
@@crossroads8370 haha now i'm beginning to understand your talking already of an ironman armor, those medieval armors has gaps its not totally safe, even an arrows can penetrate armor, research some history man, a heavily armor knights was defeated even with just bow and arrows, their enemy was brilliant pick a muddy battle field so the heavy armored army was stuck in the mud and taking barrage of arrows, cannot ,moved, spears will definitely penetrate that medieval armors, and also your heavy knights will tire quickly, phalanx formation is designed offense and defense
The phalanx was not this unbreakable formation like it’s referenced in ancient propaganda. It was a great strategy, but not perfect. It lost against many a foe.
The main issue is you have a fundamental misunderstanding of medieval plate armor. Medieval plate armor does not restrict movement like people think it does. There are several videos of people wearing plate armor and running, jumping, etc. It also makes you heavier, which is beneficial against a phalanx as they would not be able to easily “push them down haha” due to the increased weight.
Next, plate armor does certainly have some gaps to allow movement. Finding the gaps with the point of your weapon is the difficult part as the armor is crafted to guid tips away from gaps. This is why one of the best ways to defeat a plated knight is with knives as the shorter distance between hilt and tip allows for increased accuracy. On a spear, you deal with the exact opposite problem as you will not be accurate realistically. Also if you are going to address gaps in knights as a weakness, you will need to address the fact that the Spartans are literally covered in gaps. Even in their historical garb of leather or bronze armor, they would have much less protection.
Additionally, plate armor would likely be as effective or more effective as ancient shield technology at blocking arrow fire while allowing each individual to “defend” and attack at the same time while the Spartans here would have more openings. Now Crossbows would be more effective against a heavily armored unit due to a higher piercing ability, but that’s not what we are dealing with.
Also, a comparison between the Persian army to knights is illogical. It’s like comparing modern soldiers to soldiers of the napoleonic era because they both carry projectile weapons involving gunpowder.

I would have loved to watch a battle without archers, to see what unit is trully superior, since in a battle with archers the protection against ranged or how the archers randomly position themselves in the fight (for example, in this battle the majority of the spartan archers positioned where they could get flanked by knights) plat too much of a big role.

Dude the heavy kinght is the new must powerful melee unit by deafting the spartans the strongest melee and it wasn't a close fight either when the spartans had 16 the heavy kinghts had 200,000 soilders remaining good granulations to the kinghts know there more powerful than the Roman's egiptions small kinghts zombies and of course know the spartans
