Being able to be memorable in a movie with heavyweights like Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway and in one of her first roles in a movie it's just amazing!! 😍😍❤️❤️❤️
@@TheStepmonkey Not quite. There was a great 2011 movie called "The Muppets". Emily Blunt made a cameo in a scene where she was working literally the same job, an assistant for fashion magazine's editor, but instead of Miranda it was Miss Piggy. It was a parody reference to this film.
I love her character. And I love that cinema youtube reevaluated her character lately, she was portrayed as a funny antagonist that is supposed to be all down-to-earth Andy is not. But lately she has been acknowledged as hard-working and passionate, she left her country and relatives to work with her idol and she knows that she is lucky to be here and works hard to be worthy of it. When Andy arrives she sees someone who is just here by luck and doesn't care about the industry but anyway she never tries to sabotage her. At first watch she can also be seen as judgmental (when she criticizes Andy's outfits) but in fact she's not at all, she just knows fashion and Andy does have a horrid style (or no style "no, no, it was not a question") for someone working in a fashion magazine. PS : Nate is the real villain.
Emily Blunt played this character so well. There are little touches she did (the chuckle at the hideous skirt convention remark, the clipboard hiding her smile) that made the character so real. Props!!
She is such an important and relevant character for the whole plot of the movie, was really helpful for Andy’s development in her new job as Miranda’s assistant.
Isn't it amazing how many of us hated her character when this movie came out 15 years ago, & now we have all grown up realize that Emily is not bad? In fact, she is not bad at all. She's hardworking, straight-forward, passionate and have a high degree of perseverence.
I've always felt bad for her. Like, imagine you work so f*cking hard to get that job, but then all of the sudden this new girl comes in and ruins everything. Even though Miranda Priestly is supposed to be "iconic", she shouldn't have been that way toward someone who has done her job well for so long just to replace her with some random girl who didn't even care about fashion at first.
Shes absolutely class in this film. I could not have had less interest in watching a film about fashion (or at least thats what I assumed it was about from the trailer) but then saw the cast included Meryl and so I had to watch it. What an absolute treat it was. Great film.
That last scene where she was stubbornly concealing her excitement about getting all those clothes was my favorite, because it's a testament Emily Blunt's nuanced acting.
It also proves that beneath all that Emily has a heart of gold & understands that Andy is the one who could be her real friend. So in the sequel book, she joins hands with Andy & remains her BFF for life.

I absolutely adore Emily Blunt's hair, makeup and outfits in this movie. I am so inspired by it
Love Emily - played her role impeccably. .One of my favourites in this movie
Being able to be memorable in a movie with heavyweights like Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway and in one of her first roles in a movie it's just amazing!! 😍😍❤️❤️❤️
The skirt line and its delivery are severely under appreciated. It’s my favorite
She's a mood in every damn scene..😂 been a fan of her ever since devil wears prada...cant ever regret it😘
1:01 best line of the entire movie
Second best line: Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.
I'm so glad Emily left Miranda for Miss Piggy because she definitely deserved recognition for all her hard work.
She left her at the end??
@@TheStepmonkey Not quite. There was a great 2011 movie called "The Muppets". Emily Blunt made a cameo in a scene where she was working literally the same job, an assistant for fashion magazine's editor, but instead of Miranda it was Miss Piggy. It was a parody reference to this film.
Emily Blunt did a marvelous job in this movie. She was a terrific scene stealer. 👏 🤩🌟
👍👍👍🤝🤝🤝
It's not everyone who can pull off both mean and adorable at the same time 😂
I don’t think anyone else could have played this role. It is like it was made for her. She is so good.
"I'LL SEARCH EVERY BLIMPIES IN THE TRI-STATE AREA UNTIL I HUNT YOU DOWN"
The shade in that threat is unparalleled to this day.
"... I will search every Blimpie's in the Tri-State area until I track you down."
I'm dead🤣💀
The hideous skirt convention comment takes me out every time 😂😭
This comment isn't original but this Emily is the ONLY Emily that deserves to be in Paris!
I wish they made a series or movie about her, would be really interested
I love Anne but Emily did a really good work here, she is an excellent actress. I love her role in Young Victoria too.
Her acting was ON POINT
Emily steals every scene in every movie she has ever been in. How can you not love Emily Blunt.
I love her even more in the movies where she took off her clothes. My Summer of Love, Charlie Wilson's War, The Wolfman... yum yum
So many iconic lines and quotable dialogue from her!!!
Emily Blunt played this character so well. There are little touches she did (the chuckle at the hideous skirt convention remark, the clipboard hiding her smile) that made the character so real. Props!!
I need to know if the laugh after "hideous skirt convention" was scripted or not. It's perfect.
0:40 always laughed at this part every time.😅😅😅
She absolutely deserves her own series after this ;)
2:34 That face she makes. She is so natural.
Andrea - "Wish me luck!"
Emily - "No. Shan't."
Emily Blunt deserves an Oscar so much. There's so much potential acting talent there within her.
Emily is just fabulous!!! She was snooty and unfriendly but she never ever sabotaged things for Andy . Infact she was extremely supportive
Hate to break it with you but this also happens in real ... this new girl mostly get promoted faster compared to the previous girl
Shes absolutely class in this film. I could not have had less interest in watching a film about fashion (or at least thats what I assumed it was about from the trailer) but then saw the cast included Meryl and so I had to watch it. What an absolute treat it was. Great film.
I love Emily so much, she’s so sarcastic I adore her
The look she gives at 0:31 😍
"No. Shan't." cracks me up every time.
Emily Blunt is just great in this movie!
She totally deserves a solo film...
“And she retu- don’t touch it.” 💀😂
Classic. "Remember you and I have totally different jobs. I mean, you get coffee."
A line that pops into my head on the regular (and that I say in conversation) is "That: I can't even talk about." with the hand motions and everything
Have mercy. The amount I identify with Emily at my job is ungodly. 😂😂😂😂
