Seeing people burning,it makes me aware about death not any fear of death...and when i see that it reminds how little time we have...that thing makes many(notall) people of nepal humble
Thank you so much Bipin for watching buddy! Nepal is an INCREDIBLE country and we can't even explain how much we can't wait to go back and back and back again haha. So much to see and do and eat and just incredible in every way and we truly mean it! Thank you ❤️
Aww, honestly thank you for that comment Anusha ❤️. Waking up and reading such kind words is quite literally one of the best feelings so thank you!! Sending you lots of love and thank you once again 🤗. We hope you have an amazing weekend!!
I absolutely love that you had this experience! I was hoping you would take us to one of these ceremonies. I get so disappointed that Western culture frowns on and declare other cultures weird or disgusting because of their practices surrounding death. This cremation ceremony is a beautiful passage from this life. They truly hold their loved ones in such high esteem that they perform all of the ritual associated with this type of cremation. We all need to work on death not being such a scary thing. It touches my heart to see this and the spirituality surrounding it. I’m so glad you had a guide to take you there! And thank you so much for taking us along. I love the thought of allowing the body to release the spirit ❤ I know you had to have left this experience changed in some way. Sending you both love ❤
You remind me so much of my mother Erin, in that you are of an older (that us but NOT by much sheesh 🤭🙄) generation but you are SO much wiser than what you may be told to believe or not afraid of DIFFERENCES which I feel many are. We love that you are so open to different practices, cultures, and just ways of life. This is example of many why Brin is so lucky to have you as a mother ❤️ and us as a friend 🤗. Thank you!!!
Great video guys. Glad you make these great culture videos. You should read the "The Hindu Book of the Dead" and the "Tibetan book of the dead" Hope you are enjoying Nepal!
Woooohoooo! Thank you for loving it Anjali! It was a very hard topic to talk about, however it is important to put yourself in such difficult positions because its places like these where you can fully step out from what you know about your culture and learn something entirely new from another culture. The joys of traveling ❤️
Great video you guys. Nice to see your experience and I'm really enjoying seeing this country, this culture and its beautiful people through your lens. Cremation is done all over the world but it's more out and the open and celebrated this way. But I do know how the whole cremation thing goes here in North America. Listen, your mom is so proud of you and how you're living your life Will. And Jose too. Hold on to that thought and all the amazing memories you've had with her whenever you miss her. And whenever you just think of her. Big hugs to you my darling and to Jose too. Take care and happy trails.
Love how you guys were able to capture the essence of this without being intrusive! We enjoyed the storytelling in this so much, we're glad that yall were able to experience this first hand.
Thanks you two 🤗. We were a little hesitant to film it because you just never know but we always film with intention and respect so we knew it was going to be okay ❤️. Sending you both lots of love and big hugs 🤗❤️🤗
NEPAL is a whole new level of adventure (as Paddy would say). To deal with death is a difficult subject. My respect that you took this on! You handled this quite well. In Thailand, they also have this type of open cremation in the more remote county side. I wish you all the best, especially warm, beautiful weather! Keep on filming! You always manage to get my like!
That’s incredibly touching! Thanks for this heartwarming video. I’m always thankful to learn something new from you Will n Jose. God bless you2 always.
What an interesting experience. Well done! It was cool that you met a local that could give you additional perspective and background on things that were going on. :)
Yeah, learning from those who call these places home or practice makes all the difference in really getting to know a country and the culture. So thankful we met him!!! Pradip is the man ❤️. Thank you always MARTHA 😍🤗
Hello Will & Jose (Pstar) I found this video amazing and embracing different cultures and their way of living. The cremation is so traditional and interesting to see a bit like the Balinese Ceremonies. What an experience to witness and you both captured everything in a dignified way. Take Care looking forward to more videos. Stay Safe
Thank you so much Sue ❤️ We both battled it a little bit on should we film or not but our intentions were always to educate and learn, if not for ourselves, maybe someone on the other side of the screen so this makes us happy to hear. We never want to intrude or degrade anyone's beliefs, traditions, etc, so thanks! Sending you LOTS of love and BIG hugs Sue 🤗❤️🤗
Hiya. Will and Jose. Love you, guys. Thank you for the tour around. And the experiences shared. Always learning. Thank you for sharing. Love and hugs to you both. 🥰 Happy Wednesday😘
Amazing experience that and thanks for sharing guys. I've been to a few post death 'events' in Thailand with the wife's family where the body is cleansed and the usual processes completed and the close family have their own time with the body and comfort each other. From that the body is placed and rests in a refrigerated coffin at the family home for up to six days (as I understand it the wake period depends on funds available). The coffin is placed up high normally in the largest available room within the house and in front of it a beautiful array of flowers set up below and the framed photo of the deceased put in place. The buddhist monks are arranged to arrive at the home at around 6pm each day and do their thing with prayers while the family and friends are present and after the ceremony are fed and given gifts. Once the monks leave everybody sits around drinking , eating and socialising with music playing. The food finished and tables cleared it then becomes like a gambling casino (gambling is illegal in Thailand except on these occasions where the police intentionally stay away) In the morning of the last day of the wake the family loads the coffin and body within to the back of a ute and transport it to their crematorium and family and friends follow. Once there the coffin is carried into the crematorium site with one family member carrying a large framed photo of the deceased out in front whilst all others walk behind. The actual cremation the coffin is opened and a family member opens a bottle of accelerator which is sprinkled all over the clothes adorning the body the coffin then sealed and the coffin placed inside the oven. The process therefore would be much quicker than the open burning process witnessed here. Considering the topic of today's video I thought a should share that experience of mine on the family farm in Lukkae (near Kanchanaburi) Thailand. Cheers guys.
WOW 😍😍. That was beautiful and you shared it exactly at the right time and place!! Thank you for that. It's always interesting to see and hear about how others celebrate life and death. Thank you for this Steven 🤗❤️🤗
The concept of Cremation in Hinduism is not just to liberate the soul from the body/vessel- it is also to return the body to the 5 elements- fire, water, air, earth and the soul to eternal truth !! Hinduism or sanatan dharma also worships nature !! The mourning lasts for 12 days - coz it’s believed that the soul takes about 12 days to finally leave and acquire another vessel/body. The 12 days of mourning is very similar to a quarantine. The concepts and rituals in Hinduism is more closer to science. People in ancient times use to die of various diseases; most of these diseases use to be contagious… hence, during the 12 days of mourning- the immediate families of the dead eat pure vegetarian and healthy food and fruits; herbal teas, wear white and do not touch other people etc Other relatives, friends & families and priests visit on daily basis and read from holy books etc to console the families. On 13th day, all friends/families are invited to celebrate the dead and the living !! Different cultures different ways !! When you see it with unprejudiced view; it’s all beautiful !! Hope you guys have a wonderful time in Nepal 🇳🇵 !!
First and foremost thank you for watching the vlog Shree and for shining more light to a special moment in the Hindu Culture. It’s outstanding to hear of all the symbolism and meaning that goes into these moments. It truly opens up our eyes even more of the incredible depth of respect their is to the loved one that has past and the meaning behind the traditions 🙏🏽 🕊️
There are so many and it just shows how much respect and love the people have for their beliefs 🥹. We would have a hard time remembering 10 let alone 32,000 🤯

This is the reality for everyone, the beauty of life is held within the knowledge that we will not be in the physical realm forever.

@@proudlynomadic Bhutan is literally next to Nepal :) Best wishes for your endeavors.
The place is called Pashupatinath Temple and it belongs to Lord Shiva, we know him as Holy Father or Holy Ghost.
It's such an incredible place!! Thanks Mantra World 🤗
Wow, 32,000 gods? lots of respect to that religion.
Incredible amount. Each village/district/whatever they may call their area have their own dedicated Gods, hence there being so many 😍
@@proudlynomadic I am so intrigued.

How could someone recall all those gods? 32,000? mind boggling. I can't even remember all the names of my high school batch mates.
