- After spending a few weeks in Pokhara we made our way back to Kathmandu. However, this time we were fortunate enough to stay at a LUXURY RESORT that had more history than we knew anything about!
The Kathmandu Guest House opened in 1968 and is the flagship hotel of the KGH Group. With a location that can't be beat, in fact center of the tourist hub known as Thamel, this hotel is credited for the beginning of adventure tourism in Nepal!
Many famous people have called this hotel home during their stay, and some still do to this day. A few examples being Ricky Martin, Jimmy Carter, Jeremy Irons, and iconic mountaineer Reinhold Messner, among many many others. And it's easy to see why! The grounds are impeccable, the staff are incredibly accommodating, the rooms are spacious and fitted with everything you need, and there is a air of calmness that surrounds the entire grounds. It's most certainly a dream hotel!

The people are INCREDIBLE and oh so kind. It wasn't for show, which is great, it was genuine and they really make you feel welcome. That was how EVERYONE we spoke with felt and it made us feel even better about staying there ❤️❤️
