Dude, think about it for a couple of seconds, why would they teach the women how to fight. WHO are they gonna fight? The North Pole is an isolated location that even the Fire Nation couldn't locate until 100 years worth of time and there's no one else there except for that one single settlement. Outside of hunting and occasionally sending out parties to maybe help the Earth Kingdom, combat is almost a non issue for them and healing is far more vital to their survival than combat and women seem to naturally be better at it. They are more valuable as healers than fighters.

This might be dark don’t judge, but I think if Zuko had died to the lightning at the end of avatar it would have been the perfect redemption arc, and everyone would’ve have genuinely been happy with the end of his story. I know they wouldn’t have done it because it’s sort of a kids show. But I actually think that it would be such a satisfying end, Karata thanking him for saving her, and him drawing his last breath, knowing that he saved probably countless people. THAT would’ve been the dream ending. But that’s just my opinion what do you guys think?
A bit cruel and needless, since he was already redeemed. Besides the Nation would have fallen into chaos without him, very likely to self-destroy. Would have avenged the whole world, no doubt. But it would have gone against the show's message.
