Battle My Crew was my first VG. I rewatched that vhs tape to the point it broke. What you created meant a lot to me growing up Dave. I am very grateful for everything you created. I still watch clips on youtube of your stuff to this day, 10 years after stopping skating.
Miss you Dave! Thanks for picking me up at my house and filming me kind grinding the infamous Blair Witch rail with Jon Julio. I’ll always remember that day. Love ❤️ it’s coming from Mike Way by the way.
this was a great episode! as a 33 y/o "skateboarder" since 93, i bladed from mid-late 96 to early-mid 99, a legendary time for blading. i would watch TBTV "my daily routine" & HOAX 4 everyday from 97-99 aswell as elements 1, night of the string & of course, VIDEOGROOVE. fun fact, my lifelong best friend was associated with the Cheapskates/jeff frederick-b lux/kelso brothers/philly scene & i would see inline from 99-06 after i stopped. with alll this being said, i will forever respect inline & its past, present & future n even bought my 9 y/o son USD transformer powerblade kid skates n myself K2s w/ kizer frames although i really wanna cop powerblades w/ a aggressive frame feature, think richie eisler has a pro model similar or id like 2 try leon bassins WIZARD frames. peace guys
The Hoax, Mad Beef and Harvesting the Crust introduced me to 90’s skate punk, VG turned me on to a lot of great Hip hop. I still listen to both genres to this day.
Love it. Thank you guys for keeping us educated! Even though I grew up in that era I had no idea about all this stuff that was going on (lived in Poland, then Canada in late 90s). It's so fantastic to hear these guys speak about how it was back in the day, gives such a great perspective on why we are the way we are today!
A massive thank you to the legend Dave Paine for your dedication and hardwork. Growing up in a small town in the Midlands, England your videos exposed us to the world of rollerblading and inspired us for years. Right from my very first video vg6 I bought back in 96-97 right through to the last vg you released. The quality of the production was amazing, made me proud to call myself a rollerblader
I'm fortunate to have come out in a few VG,s big up to Jump Street Podcast for this episode and big up to Dave Paine ....those were the days man, I'm proud of everyone who progressed the sport 👍🔥🔥💣 #🐝🔔 #90sSDblader #videogroove #roll4life
I think the conversation around suicide needs to be a lot more public. It's a huge issue, especially in men and we tend to treat it like a thing to feel shame about. If we were more open about how we feel and about depression and suicidal thoughts we could do a lot more together to maybe prevent it from happening as often as it does.
I’m short pressed For a name - I need to watch that one again, I’m sure I have it in my collection somewhere. The Kevin Gillan/Dustin Latimer section in VG6 was crazy.
58:35 YEAH man he was hitting himself and getting hyped. I cherish my copy of VG 20 Roots with the Carlos Pianowski intro and Chris Haffey profile. They way that was edited made you IMMERSED!! BLADE OR DIE ; ) Imo, skateboarders hate bc blading was easier and more dangerous at the same time. Easier learning curve for beginners to a degree, but when you are the top level - BLADING CAN MAKE SKATEBOARDING LOOK SAFE. So they hate because they feel threatened for reasons aforementioned. But Dave is right - BLADING HAS ALWAYS BELONGED. Super stoked if Dave has a website for the Videogroove merch! Where is this website?
I use to buy stuff from skate pile back in the day and was cool enough for kruse and Paine to sign my videos. Does anyone know what happened with the Charles’s dunkle near death injury?
2:03 in my younger years when I lived in Memphis one of my buddies older brothers was roommates with Jamie Thomas through college he would come and skate with us and hang out with their family I got to skate board and Blade with him really didn't know he was a legend at the time just did gnarly gaps

VG10 - Metro was my first blading video and one of my main introductions to hiphop. The soundtrack to that video was incredible!
DJ EQ - Death of Hip Hop. I love Videogroove Background Music. Bomb HipHop Records. Much respect for you Dave! Regards from Herborn/Germany

Dave Paine, what a legend 💛 VGs were such a big part of my childhood, they introduced me to so much great music. I need to that VG mug for a brew ☕️
That story about the skateborders watching was pretty amazing
Battle My Crew was my original jam. VG for life!
Such a great episode! VG 6 was the first skate video I ever owned and to this day I still blast Ignite - Embrace every so often!

This one was epic
I'm not sure if Dave remembers me but he stayed at my apt in Hawaii for the making of vg8. good to see he is still around.
The best yet! Round 2 please! ✌️
great cast, blessing in the skies

Well said
Roadhouse’s section in VG3 was crazy for the time.
indeed. big moment in skating
The days when he was like the cockiest 12 year old in Cali, talented kid for sure.
Jpmd3000 was gonna say that! Also Toys beneath our feet was insane.
I’m short pressed For a name - I need to watch that one again, I’m sure I have it in my collection somewhere. The Kevin Gillan/Dustin Latimer section in VG6 was crazy.
GV Games - He was 15 but looked and sounded younger. I was around the same age, maybe a little younger. I thought I was good until I saw him.
We were in vg 23... it was one of the high points of our careers
58:35 YEAH man he was hitting himself and getting hyped. I cherish my copy of VG 20 Roots with the Carlos Pianowski intro and Chris Haffey profile. They way that was edited made you IMMERSED!! BLADE OR DIE ; )

I met Dave during the Erik Burke VG5 filming. He was so cool!!!!
VG 24 in 2024. So poetic. This must be crowd funded
Would love to hear from Jeph Howard sometime. He used to hit horrible drop rails like Carlos like they were a piece of cake, he is a cool guy too.
I use to buy stuff from skate pile back in the day and was cool enough for kruse and Paine to sign my videos. Does anyone know what happened with the Charles’s dunkle near death injury?
Amazing
Lesss go! ❤️
Have I not already seen this?
2:03 in my younger years when I lived in Memphis one of my buddies older brothers was roommates with Jamie Thomas through college he would come and skate with us and hang out with their family I got to skate board and Blade with him really didn't know he was a legend at the time just did gnarly gaps
Broke his leg on the leap of faith if I remember right. I think he was the only skateboarder to land it. Or kinda land it, can't remember which.
DAP! legend!
1:59:10, FUN FACT, jaydee aka j dilla had NOTHING 2 do with Little Brother, it was producer 9TH WONDER's group with phonte & big pooh
