Mangalica pigs which are also known as mangalitsa pigs are PASTURING PIGS! You pasture feed them they way you pasture feed cattle. Best you create a fodder tree farm inside their land area to feed them with acorns, red and white and red-white mulberries, paw paws, persimmons, apples, walnuts, chestnuts, Siberian peashrub, Sea buckthorn as well as plant all kinds of pasture perennial plants like weeping lovegrass and other kinds of pasturing perennial grasses and alfalfa.
Not circumcised. Castrated. Close, but not quite the same. We feel they grow better and get fatter. Also, we need to control breeding and know too many folks who didn't keep a tight hand on their piglets and ended up overrun because of too many intact males and unauthorized activities. It helps with management.
Hello, I’m in Wisconsin. In The Summertime they Shed their hair and do fairly well. In July and August I had a Shade Structure and a Mud Hole for them. They did well. Best pork You Will ever eat!
Hey man... great video. Very helpful. I like your channel and vids so far. Just a quick tip and advice maybe. The intro music is a little too loud. Much louder than your regular talking. Maybe try to dial it down a little. Also, maybe try a bit more melow or chill music? I got almost jump scared lol
Great question! We don't have any experience with them in a hot environment but they do just fine during the summers here as long as they have plenty of mud to cool off in.
@@TheAnyoneCanFarmExperience I live in Jamaica and I am assuming they would do well in the tropics in relationship to food and their ability to turn food into great meat but that woolly looking hair hmmmm has me worried in this sun. I would love to try.
Another great video……really enjoyed….thank you
Looking to start raising mangalitsa pigs for my own food source. In the process of getting things set up.

Great video. The Mangalitsa Pig is the pig to get!
Could you do a video with more "how to" knowledge & merits of the Mangalista pig breed?
Thanks for the video. Apparently we can't get Mangalitsa pigs in Australia.
I'm curious is there a specific reason why they're circumcised.

I need a trio of these. I'm in the deep south so I'm wondering how well they would do with heat and humidity?

thanks for the comment, we've gotten a bit better at sound editing since this video :D
Do these pigs do well in the tropics?

I have 6 piglets. What vaccines do you give?
I don't believe they vaccinate? The entire point of their operation is to raise animals as close to how they would live in the wild.
We don’t do any vaccines, across the board but especially with this breed they’re not necessary.
Thanks for the question!
You grab them by the hind legs and wheel-barrow them where you want them to go.
I always felt sorry for them at castrating time.
