Michael Laudrup didn’t leave the team because he thought their chances was low, but because he didn’t respected their new coach at the time “Richard Møller Nielsen”.🇩🇰❤️🇩🇰
Also, he WAS already on holiday at the time, so was 85% of the team. Most of them now traveled back, to have some training before going to the euro’s. It’s also the euro where Schmeichel made has famous one hand catch from a corner .. and Brian Laudrup played horrible until the semi’s where he played a free role in the midfield. GO DENMARK! Brian was also considered one of the very best BTW. He was even in the Pele's list of 125 greatest living players in 2004. IIRC, he was voted the 5th or 6th best player in the world in 1992 (don't actually remember what that vote was).
Even Michel Platini said that Michael was the best player in the world when they played for Juve. But he never showed it during the games and only gave 80% effort due to his fear of being tackled and destroyed and suffer the same fate as Allan Simonsen. Remember this was during the Maradona era in Serie A and they played the same position. There is a reason players like Pep and Iniesta hold him so highly.
