I"m a newbee sewer. I got into sewing because I have very sensitive skin, and I want to create interesting clothing . For me I wanted to bring out more colours and have fun creating new designs by getting inspiration from traditional clothing from other countries, and picking out things I like from clothing of different eras. Then wack all these things into a pot add a good dash of imagination and see where it leads me. Then having enough bravery to go out in public with it. :)
I was lucky enough to meet my sewing teacher through a friend. Our first project was too ambitious. The idea was to make a pair of Harem pants for yoga. It didn't workout as yoga pants the fabric was too heavy. Still it was great fun making my own pants from scratch, with a lot of help :) I don't have that teacher now, but I have joined up a sewing group. The people are really nice. I am the only guy there, but I don't mind. I also get to use a much nicer sewing machine. I love that machine as you can set the speed on it. With mine its a bit like a race horse bolting out of the blocks.
I found your channel by looking up how to make draw string bags. I then found your *Newbs* sewing series.
Thanks for taking the time to make these guides

I really loved your totoro pencil bag tutorial and I made one for my niece and she loved it. I was really happy with how it turned out and I really liked the way you inserted the zipper. I would like to see more of these type of tutorials and it would be great if you could include the pattern as well.

You're really fresh and you're enthusiasm is contagious. I'm going to sewing school at the tender age of 47 and you kinda look like my younger sister, lol. By the way I'm also French and picked up on your (cool) accent at once. Keep the good work up. (and i'm buying the Singer 4423 soon ;-) ). Thanks for the good tutorials !

Hey! Thanks for making all these great videos! I'm going to try making your Toad costume for me to wear to a friends party. Also I plan on watching all of your sewing videos. There's nothing wrong with a 35 year old man learning to sew, right? LoL. My wife does a lot of crafting and I think it would be fun for us to do this kind of stuff together.
    Thanks again!

Will you be talking about machines? I have an old tank of a machine that is from he late 1960's or something but there are a zillion attachments that I've never used. The new machines are a mystery to me. Do they have the same issues with "tension". That's what I struggle with the most, getting the tension right when sewing different types of fabrics.
Also, what about making forms? I tried to make a form using packing tape (worked fairly ok but my assistant was clueless so it could have been better) after seeing a video on UA-cam. I thought a form would help when I tried to alter ready made clothing store r if I attempted to make something from scratch.

+D Sanchez I ll be talking about machines and foot attachments. Modern machine are quite straight forward with tension, with some fabric you need to fiddle around with it, but that's normal =D I made a mannequin out of duck tape a few years ago, it is great when you do not have a real one at your disposal, it is really handy when you don't have someone to help pin stuff on yourself, you can be more independent with a form. =D
