This is the BEST beginner friendly video i have seen. Seriously. So helpful. Only thing that im still confused about is the cleanup tools are a bit different on the newer version and i cant figure them out.
Useful content on these new features. Affinity Designer and Photo seem to have a bit of a learning curve when it comes to getting familiar with the workflow. I appreciate you taking the time to demonstrate this. Cheers!
Hi Ben, I am excited that shape builder was included in the new version. I bought the V2 and cancelled my Adobe subscription to start saving some money. The next feature needed is image tracing.
Really good. You have the knack for imagining what it's like being a beginner and _not_ knowing everything you do know. The makers of many tuts just don't get it, cuz they've long since forgotten what it was like to be a newbie, staring at a complex app in bewilderment.
Thanks, I'm glad I could help! Sometimes people comment that I make it too simple, but I know it's really hard to get started on these programs when you don't have the experience or the vocabulary so I try to make it as easy as possible. It's good to know that its working!
@@pbasswil thanks I appreciate it! I've had the benefit of teaching creative programs to novices for about 8 years now, but it is always hard to remember what you don't know!
@@bendesignsmedia Exactly! You summed it up in that phrase. I think there should be college courses in How to Write Directions. Lesson One would be: Self-Examine, and figure out the basics that UNDERPIN all you do - all the stuff that you've long since lost conscious awareness of. Cuz beginners are only encountering that stuff for the first time - at the same time their tutor/instruction guide is trying to cram the teaching agenda into them. :^/ I drive standard/manual trans. It recently occurred to me that _I couldn't teach someone else to drive standard_ (not without much self-observation), cuz I have no idea how I coordinate my clutch foot and my throttle & my shifting! Hey, fun to think about this stuff with you. :^)
@@pbasswil there actually are college courses in instructional design, that's what I have my masters degree in, so it's nice to know that it is working!

Glad it was helpful! They do have a bit of learning curve, but not quite as much as Photoshop or Illustrator I would say

Yeah a lot of people seem interested in that. Not something I use regularly though

@@bendesignsmedia Absolutely; there's an art to explaining something clearly and simply - and you've got the knack. :^)

Thanks for the great content. You have a great UA-cam Chanel thanks.
Glad you enjoy it!
Will turning the iPad sideways allow selection of those buttons that you could not grab and demonstrate?
Such a great tutorial! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
