Title: I Ran a SUB 20 MINUTE 5K & This Is How...
Theo is the definition of a hybrid ATHLETE: gym, booze, hyrox, football, skiing, football, more booze, filthy food, swimming, cycling, marathons, chuck an Ironman in there.
Absolute machine bro.
😂😂
@@TheoBakerExtra your a big inspo Theo, you and reeve have got me back to the gym and trying to better myself. Much love brother
@@TheoBakerExtra got an idea for a lil series u can do, which football youtuber has the best fans (at football). I’d love to watch that series, similar to your best footballer on UA-cam series
I genuinely searched 'Theo Baker sub 20 5k' the other day in hope for inspiration for my sub 20 attempt. Can't believe the timing. Keep it up Theo!
Ofcourse you did pal 😂😂😂😂😂
Using runna for my marathon training and gotta say it's a baggin app also massive fair play to you Theo for the sub 20!!
Wasn't ready for that sub 19:30 time! Amazing Theo, well done =D! You smashed it!
Well done mate, i took up running in my 30s and managed to get my 5k time down to 16:45 with a ton of hard work, i recon you can go even faster with some specific work outs, sub 19 next stop.
Slowly as you come through the finishing line is not what you want to hear when trying to run a pb. Bit of a shambles of a course
Slowly was the only option unless you wanted to fall arse over tit lol, looked almost like a cross country course
bizare race :D
Super inspiring Theo , excited to see what’s next !
Runna has blown up in the last few months here in Southern California. I've been using the app for a few months now and it's the best out there!
That is some outstanding running and some pretty horrible hats. Great work
well done mate 👏
Great work Theo. You’ll be in the 18s before you know it if you stay consistent.
I done a 20:03 5k at the start of December and that was it for me, I gave up and haven’t attempted since. This videos has made me hungry for the sub 20 again, I’m coming back to this vid once I’ve hit it!!!
omggg, was this the Victoria Park 5k early Jan? I was there and it was hell & horror!! 😭 the weather was awful and the muddy finish was the worst, literally had to walk it in 😩. Amazing effort!! 🤩
love this content bakey boy
Go on Theo keep it up mate really enjoy watching these running videos
The fact that he said sub 20min 5k was harder than an ironman… you saying i could run an ironman easy😅
Where do you run? I’m 14 and would love to pace you a race or even a training session ( I run an 18:03
Must be so nice to have enough money and time to be able to dedicate to all this training 😔👌
love the runin vids
Right that's it...I've been focusing on HM & Marathon training so longer distance stuff - Theo's now passed my 19:29PB I set June 2023 (haven't tried since) I'm gonna have to go out and smash a sub 19 now to keep the distance between us (ran a 19:49 as part of my 10k race 4 weeks ago)
Do you do threshold sessions, they can be very effective in getting your 5k pace better. You can also have more hard sessions if you have threshold sessions.
By any chance, were you training for a hyrox as well?
Weird question - what brand are Theo's shorts with the phone slot??
My watch does the same thing on parkruns!! I’ll take the ParkRun times🤣🤣
Theo is completely different on his own channel 😅
As a 19 minute 5k runner, I wouldn’t say it’s one of the hardest running challenges ever …
Yeah, total nonsense, even just completing a marathon is way harder. Sub 15 would be though
Hope you enjoyed Brisbane bro, as a person who lives here its not bad
12:17 - that's what she said
Where do you get your running shorts with the inner phone pocket??!
What a legend
Going from 20:53 in the Australian heat in November to the Europe winter you probably could’ve gone straight out and got the sub 20 already 😅
Theo I'm sitting at 15:46 5k and would love to pace you, think you've got another minute to shave off
Do you pace for sub-17? I’ve only hit it once but been teetering on the edge for a while now.
@jakemears yeah for sure paced a few people to sub 17
Theo Bloody Baker gonna dethrone Reev as the fittest soon while looking like like he is a regular at McDonalds.
Reev gotta step it up.
What are the pink shoes he was wearing?
So many Walt’s talking running now - you’re not a coach cos you ‘went sub 20’ lol
those sunglasses are shocking
Great video Theo. Why on earth do you have a headband?
Sweat!😂
Well done bro
10:14 you think that’s a blow up?? *Enter every runner who goes suicidal pace on a 10k and just rely on hope to not die…*
Do you have any recommendations for a good 5-10k everyday shoe for road use?
Zoom fly 6 big dog
New Balance 1080’s
I may not be qualified to say this but you should have atleast two days between your hard sessions obviously depending on how hard and long the sessions are, you should also keep your easy runs in zone 1. But very impressive running.
Insane
so you ran 20.02 then you get a pacer and it shaves of 36 seconds how
having a pacer makes any race easier. you can mindlessly follow them without having to worry about pace. also more rest/better carb load beforehand probably made a difference
I ran the 10k the same day he did the 20:02. The weather was awful and the course is not as flat as Battersea. Going into parkrun with a personal pacer who's purpose is to motivate you + days of rest = better success
This is my goal for 2025
Try and run sub 15 next
Sounds elite af
I’d guess only around 1% of sub 20 runners go on to run sub 15. The jump in fitness is astronomical
@RojoBoxeador I was just sub 20 five years ago and I've done sub 15 now. As long as your skinny I only run 40 miles a week it works
Gotta slow them easy runs down Theo, running them far too fast
For sub 20 prep I stick to 5:30/km for easy runs.
@@J4CKBR3TT Yh if not slower tbh
Just run at an effort that's 3-4/10 don't worry about the pace
@@J4CKBR3TT yeh anything between 5:20-5:50 I’m usually at and can run a 16 minute 5k. Use to run everything around 5:00 and couldn’t break 18 a year ago
Why did you drink so much if you know it wasn't good for you?
wtf bro is fit
you did your "easy runs" way too fast
He looks so burnt lol
baldy
Struggling to believe his times tbh
Your easy pace is too fast bro based on sub 20 5k
👏👏👏
I got a sub 20 5k first time I tried ion think it's that hard but good job ig im better than all of u😎
Rage bait I swear don't kill me😢
Brisvegas
Runna basically just overcomplicates a basic training plan that you can find for free all over the internet to try and justify charging for it, don't be fooled!
Surely anyone who isn't overweight can get sub 20 within a few weeks of training. Let alone this fella who has been banging on about running for years.
Lol good luck if you think this
@ I’ve done a sub 17 5km after 8 months into training
@@Ben-cw4ln maybe not weeks but definitely in like 4 to 6 months for men..idk where he’s getting the ‘sub 20 is an insane goal that many don’t achieve ‘ lol 😅
@@DavidDA99 I guess it depends on genetics, I could just always run sub 20 5kms when I was a kid just doing parkrun some weekends
I’m in the best shape of my life, been running over a year and can barely get under 25 minutes. By all means go prove me wrong dude🤣
