Nice Tip Here is one that seems to work to speed up the process of the bowl I found it by accident. I had a bowl with some black in with flour gold but I started using a brass cleaner (vibration bowl) on the same table as the blue bowl (I use the brass cleaner shaker to classify with) The extra vibration from the brass shaker running made the contents in the blue bowl just a bit jittery and helped clean it out more. You could see the tiny circle in the middle vibrate in the blue bowl and more black dust rose up that was trapped. Someone needs to make a small vibrator that clips on the side of the blue bowl :)

That's interesting. We can always learn! Thanks!

believe it or not i tap the sides of mine sometimes when processing when the material doesnt want to move. it really does help. i have a trusty pump i use now so i know i cant really lose anything but the material i have right now is enough to drive one mad.
i like it cause its a challenge and just for fun but i cant let it win.
i have a different machine ill be getting set up soon that will end my frustration.
not saying the blue bowl is bad its a great concentrator but its just not designed for my use case with this stuff. same as my other equipment.
but many times i told myself too. a shaker of sorts added to this thing or vibration that could be tuned to target specific material to move it. say high frequency moves this material and a lower slower one moves this but the gold stays put. that would be a big help for anything you put in there.

Don't use plastic on plastic like a credit card, use something softer like a brush.
The surface of your bowl needs to be super smooth for water physics to have their full affect.

Hey, thanks for the comment. Actually though it doesn't scratch the bowl. But I guess what I didn't say in the video is that the card will wear and when it gets worn it's time to toss. Most cards now are soft and don't bother the bowl. Been a Blue Bowl fan for many years. I would agree though that in some instances a brush works. I've got several hanging by the bowl.

funny enough ive seen some get good results etching the bottom slightly to make a catch per say. cause when you cut it raises slightly on both sides so it makes little ledges. some made silicon mats for the bottom too with surprising results.
i had been very careful with mine for a good while but i got careless. mine was bought for the material it wasnt working well with. i put some etchings on the side for quick point of reference. it didnt affect results. used a better pump the bowl worked fine.
got a couple scratches in the bottom and was like well i should have not put that in there.
turns out the scratches actually slowed some of the super fine powder material i wanted to keep or stopped it completely. so i ended up putting a few little nicks all the way around almost like a riffle on a sluice mat and it performs better for my application and i dont need to classify. this material is roughly the same size or smaller down to the point of your not even gonna see what it is without magnification. good luck classifying youll be there all year.
atleast for now its finally letting me condense all this material i have just taking up space in my workshop. im starting up a business these days with 2 different aspects and could really use the space to work.
super glad this thing is actually working for me until i get my new piece of equipment. its for the finishing process as miller tables were not doing me any good. and sheer volume for one person to try to clean on a miller table at home i am good. better things to do.
you gotta remember these things are cheap tools. and meant to be used. the stuff your putting in them is harder than steel. the makers knew that and thats the only reason its glossy. literally. it will prolong looking nice. you run 1000 lbs of heavy ass black sand through one of these and you can use it for sand paper. so youll still have a use for it if its "ruined".
i worked with some plastics for a living and the funny thing about it is. its soft. so you can literally just resand and polish it if you have to have perfection. better than new. mine had scratches and scuffs out the box. it may be a shocker to some but even acrylic bullet proof glass can be sanded back to clear after its been beat up.
nothing lasts forever ive been reminded my whole life. use what you will and enjoy what you must.
this is a tool that if taken care of will take care of you. and if you find the stuff to feed the beast. just buy a new one when you wore it out past a quick fix. pass it to a friend let them mess with it next time. its not a big deal. let one of their kids ruin it having a blast in there early years if they are interested. its never really wasted if its done/doing its job.

Not trying to transform the bowl and how it functions, because lack of a smooth surface will change its function/rate/productivity.

When paired with a miller shaker, you can't really go wrong on small scale.

@@chriscache1673 a shaker table is what im ordering. the material i have is evil but very much worth it.
i only made a few scuffs on mine to see if it helped and it did. black sand is almost impossible to get the gold out of easily or quickly. so i took the chance cause it wasnt gonna hurt anything. dont like the result 10 seconds of sanding fixes the whole thing.
or with the hardness of the material i run a few scoops will take it back out too. its really nasty stuff.
