There are a few things that could be wrong. If it worked before and doesn’t now, it could be the diaphragm (seized) or the electronics themselves. If power was hooked up backwards once, that can also cause a permanent failure of the electronics. If it clicks once and moving the shield (like in the video) has no effect (no change in speed of up and down motion), the electronics are likely dead. Good luck tracing the problem.
Mine doesn’t move freely like that. Would you say it would likely be the diaphragm? It’s about 5 years old (same solid state style). It just holds as soon as I connect the power and the piece hardly moves when powered.
