  • According to an autopsy report, “Friends” star Matthew Perry died from the “acute effects of ketamine.” Ketamine is an anesthetic and anti-depressant sometimes used to treat addiction. The report says the ketamine that caused his death was found in his stomach and suggests he may have been using the drug recreationally. The report says that contributing factors to the 54-year-old's death included drowning, coronary artery disease and the drug buprenorphine, which is used to treat opioid addiction.

      It wasn't really that his heart couldn't take anymore. Come on now anyone who was drinking and doing drugs without the common sense to not get in a relaxing hot tub, then fall asleep. That got nothing to do with it being too much for their heart to handle. Uncontrolled stupidity. He will be missed. Let this be a lesson for All. Use common sense when drugging recreationally then relaxing in any kind of tub. My divine opinion.

      Because there is pretty good evidence for ketamine being effective at treating addiction, and ketamine itself has very low potential for addiction. Methadone is also used to treat opioid addiction despite it also being an opioid itself. It's really not a difficult concept to understand, just because it doesn't make sense to you based on your limited knowledge of drugs and medicine doesn't mean it is a bad idea or is ineffective, this is just an appeal to common sense and is not a rational approach.

    • @tricursor2481
      @tricursor2481 6 місяців тому +5

      Normally overdose means opioids, but yes. But ketamine is legitimately amazing at treating treatment resistant manic depression, never had anything touch it but the days after a ketamine infusion I felt like a normal human. Honestly i just think we're lying to ourselves about abstinence being the only way out, take a look at how countries like switzerland handled the opioid crisis (which is likely a huge contributer to his depression, once youre an opioid addict you'll never felt like you once did, it's like being given sight when you were blind your whole life and then having it snatched away, it's insidious)

    • @messagenabottle2668
