I just recently got to see a pic of him at a Comi-con in San Diego with his son. Alex looks great! He looks like he's reverted back to his youthful self. And his son, he has the same mess of curls but they're red, I think that's awesome. I wouldn't mind meeting Alex myself. He's inspiring. I've been a fan since 1986.

Advice from an opera audience member: Do NOT go to see Tristan & Isolde unless you're ready for the two of them spending almost the entire second act (around 45 mintues-hour) singing about "the sun and the moon" and so on. Almost half an hour in, I wanted to shout "JUST CATCH THEM IN THE ACT ALREADY!" Then Tristan spends the beginning of the 3rd act being emo, dressed in black and all. Listen to it, though. It's a classic.
