I support any renter who doesn’t wait until they own a place to make a home they love. Some of us will never own. But we can still bloom where we are planted! It astounds me how negative people are towards renters who make any kind of investment in their home. I mean what’s it to you? It’s not your money, and they are happy so who’s hurt?
So true. I've been in my apt for 12 years and started really living out my decor visions a decade after moving in and I regret not doing it sooner. Life is to be lived, period!
This was fantastic- so entertaining! This girl is beautiful and vivacious, and so full of personality! (So many of the people on these tours are a little boring) ...she was so into her very lovely space...it was really personal to her - I love her use of color and the themes that played out throughout her home....I also loved how she supported local artists and shops...she truly exemplified and communicated the meaning of "home".
Wow,before I even finish watching this video,Ally was our tour guide in 2019,for the Sex In The City bus tour we took,& she was awesome! Now,back to the video. 😂❤
To be clear, not to take anything away from F&B, but NO house paint sold in the US has lead in it. Banned since 1978. Love F&B paint for the colors, the history, etc. but not because it's lead free.
This apartment is rent controlled. Many times when people move into a large rental apartment in NYC they never move out and it’s not uncommon for their children to move into them when they do . There were two young ladies on Homeworthy who moved into their parents apartments , one of the young ladies parents retired to FL when she moved into their apartment. Most likely that is why this young doesn’t have a problem with renovations in this apartment. I am sure that her neighbors are very happy with the special flooring she put in . I can’t imagine having a neighbor who is a drummer in an apartment building, without some type of sound proofing.
Greetings from Canada! Love your apartment, what an incredible talent, the way everything comes together to form your beautiful home. Thank you for sharing.
In Britain the “sloping door” would be classed as adding to the property’s character and so adding to its desirability and value (as long as it’s not recent which would mean it’s a structural compromise that needs immediate attention) but it still surprises me how differently the Brits and Americans approach accommodation - when I moved people in the USA asked me “what size you looking for?” I don’t think I’ve ever even considered a property in terms of square footage. No one I know in the uk would be looking for anything other than a desired number of bedrooms - once you’re there in the space itself then you can decide if it’s big enough or not - until then it’s just numbers. I’m glad hone worthy consider small homes worthy of their channel - more so in fact because smaller homes need better interior design mon order to make them habitable. Bravo 🎉🎉
Wow she’s definitely done her homework - as a Brit I’m surprised but mostly impressed she’s even heard of Farrow and Ball paint - I don’t know another brand that comes close to the satisfying crispness of their hues and the deep creamy-ness of the colours themselves.
Y’all renovating rentals is something I will never ever understand 😂😂 these NY landlords get away with so much. I remember the one episode where the girl put marble countertops in her rental and … I CANT 😂😂😂. If I put hardwood floors in a rental im taking every plank when I leave😂😂😂😂
True I would take some stuff that is mine that I have put in, but however if you’re paying rent up the whazoo I want it to be home when I come home since you are paying for it why wait to buy to make it yours? So I’m with her unless the landlord has a rent deal with them for a much lower rent.
Wow! I'm not even two minutes into the video and I have already paused to comment 😅 Firstly, I love what I'm seeing so far! I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest. I am blown away by this whole renter-undertaking-major-renovations scenario (I'm not critising her) that I've come across on countless UA-cam videos. Here in Australia, it is the owner's responsibility to maintain a house/apartment. If a renter wanted to update (even super basic stuff), the owner's permission needs to ge granted first. Sometimes, deals are struck whereby the renter may paint the whole apartment in exchange for a freeze in the rent price (for a period of time). But, replacing floorboards, updating kitchens, any plumbing/electricals are always undertaken by the owner. So fascinating!
Hi I am from NY ,your guys did amazing job creating your home and your design, I wish you had more lighting in the living to see your furniture you mom gave you, as an designer the expression of your home explain the love of what you do.🌻
I love NY Apartment’s. I liked a lot of what she’s done. The only thing I found a bit odd, was having the litter box in the kitchen? I know those types of automatic ones are phenomenal and after it rotates you don’t smell anything. Buuuut, still, the thought of the cats pooping in such a small space next to the stove etc…would bother me. There’s so much room in that apartment. Why not put it like in her closet area?
Your place is fabulous! Ive never lived in NY so this may be a stupid question but do renters get any discounts when they redo apartments? Ive seen really elaborate renovations.
it‘s shocking how much wall color shrinks a room almost up to inexistence, compared to white and at the same time it‘s amazing what they or better she did, not a maximalist mysekf but i love it
Every New Yorker who’s renting and showing their rental: It’s not typical to renovate a rental Renters in Every episode of a home viewing show about New York: We renovated our rental 😂😂😂
Home is where the heart is…just because it’s a rental, it doesn’t have to be dull or boring. That is home for her and her family. Whether it’s owned or not is irrelevant.
New Yorker usually live in their apartments for many years. Especially if its rent stabilized. They don’t move every couple years. So it is an investment that’s worth it. That is the difference from living in other places.
You are not an Interior Designer. You're a decorator. An I.D. gets a four year degree, takes a test, gets licensed and goes through an internship. It really gets my shackles up when wannabes call themselves this. And honestly, a licensed Interior Designer's home would not look like this.

Little do they know that homeowners rarely if ever see a ROI on their "upgrades" either.
I totally agree

Love the color and vibrant artwork. More colorful homes are needed Homeworthy!
The painting behind her as she’s explaining her apartment is just gorgeous x
I'm quite sure that's a Matisse...I'm just wondering if its real 🤔
Im loving the art too. I’m thinking it’s real since she said it was her first big girl purchase.
@@Chewbacca-e9x She explained in the video that it's a replication, not an original.
Wow,before I even finish watching this video,Ally was our tour guide in 2019,for the Sex In The City bus tour we took,& she was awesome! Now,back to the video. 😂❤
Rent stabilised = lower property investment return. Assume owners spend minimum updating properties?
I love that tour!

It's a little alarming that she implies/believes that other paints might have lead in them...
I expect a lot of people make decisions based on social media trends and then try to rationalize them with made up reasons. So absurd.

@2:39 - That muted yellow wall is wonderful. I'm sure on overcast days, it brings a lot of joy and warmth.
Beautiful, bold, and not boring!
Very nice place! That Muddy Waters painting is EVERYTHING!
Breathtaking!
It's beautiful and I love it. It's vibrant, the couch looks comfortable, and the whole place is so stylish!
Absolutely beautiful taste. Saturated colors and pops of interest everywhere. Congratulations on creating lovely spaces.
Gorgeous girl, gorgeous apartment!! Investing in your home is investing in your wellbeing ❤❤
The painting is everything!
Love this! Beautiful colors through out
That painting of Muddy Waters is great!
Those wall colors are sumptuous. Love the artwork, as well.
This tenant is just an artist 👏🙂
really enjoyed your content! Great color, great design!
Micsoda izgalmas, gyógyító, melegen ölelő színek, festmények!!! 😍Imádom, imádom, imádom!!! Ráadásul az otthon melegét fokozza a cicák látványa is...🐱❤ Rajongok értük! ❤ Gratulálok a szép otthonhoz!
Beautifully done. Love all the colour.
Love the painted walls! I hope you get to stay as long as you want to stay. You're adorable. Thanks for the tour.
That purse and wallet is EVERYTHING! 😍
Very inspiring and your colours are glorious

Your apartment is gorgeous I love and thank you very much for the amazing tour to you apartment😇🥰🥰🥰🥰
With the renovations, they could have created another space for both of their cats' litter boxes, other than the kitchen.

Exactly...Would never invest in a rental!
I'd rather live in a "tin can" railroad rental in NYC than anywhere else on earth.
True I would take some stuff that is mine that I have put in, but however if you’re paying rent up the whazoo I want it to be home when I come home since you are paying for it why wait to buy to make it yours? So I’m with her unless the landlord has a rent deal with them for a much lower rent.
So if you're living in a rental for your entire life you can never really live how you want to live?
I've renovated rentals too. Sometimes the joy one obtains from it is worth the expense.
YES. Color.
Fabulous Apartment with all these colors👍 But mostly I'm fascinated by her beautiful hair!!!!😊
Artsy, colorful and fun is my thing! I really enjoyed this:-)
host is beautiful just like her home
Wonderful hostess, kitties and home. I'd love a tour of their upstate place as well.
I love the whole kitchen and the rug in the living room 👍🏾
She said she loves to be horizontal 😉 I really love the lounge, the color of the walls and the green couch with the rug is different and beautiful.
Gorgeous
This place is fabulous! 🙌🏽
Very cool exciting space!

Beautiful home

Nice tour, thanks, especially liked the bedroom.
Beautiful place!
Nice home tour
Very cool 😎
Enjoying this VLOG ✨
Love it
Wonderful space! A lot of people rent for a long time ( 3-10 years) and it would be sad to not fully appreciate your space for such a long time.

Actually my parents lived in their rent controlled apartment for over 30 yrs. When they did renovations.. the rent went up! But that was years ago.
44:03 to 44:30 LOVE LOVE LOVE THAT PICTURE 💛😃🩵
Wow you sound and look like Drew Barrymore. I love love love love love that table

Okay that leopard cushion is gorgeous! I did not quite catch where those are sold, though. Can anyone help?
Very sweet.

Black and white com nations are. Scrumptiously gorgeous gorgeousness.
Very like
it's a beautiful renovation. i would not want to live below them, though. despite the sound insulation. it's still an apartment building.
Cutie patootie home!
❤
Ridgewood is becoming gentrified
What happens when she moves? Does she lost her deposit or have to fix it back to how it was?
You may want to store your spices away from steam and heat.
Wow you’re kitchen is filled on 1980
And when you leave what happens?
😮😏
Her husband is a drummer, poor neighbors
Lead paint?... Wouldn't an interior designer know that all modern paint is lead-free?
I gave up on this one. 16 minutes on just one room is TMI for me. Condense please

It cost nothing to be nice. Mean-spirited comments are reflective of the person.
designer de interiores?? De certeza?? 😑
😅😅
I like the apartment but the ums and ehms are very agitating. they show up in every other sentence, if not more.
And a lot of “like” fillers.
RIP original soul to the apt. non new yorkers didn’t give you much love
please do not buy peacock feathers, a peacock was killed to get those feathers
No, that’s not true. Peacocks shed their feathers and grow new ones every year, it’s called moulting.
That floor lamp is an 80s lamp, nothing Art Deco about it.
